While Erika went through her tough etiquette training at the direction of her capable teacher Eva and used the rest of her time to guide and direct her Wehrmacht, three more years passed in the blink of an eye.
She was now fifteen and grew up to be a beautiful young lady. Her parents were all proud of her, though not much her teacher.
She barely managed to pass the etiquettes training.
Which in itself is a bit of a failure for the daughter of a duke and not to mention the soon to be princess of the kingdom.
"Haah, I hope that the teachers in the magic academy will be able to make a better young lady out of you." Eva said about her on the final day of her teaching.
Meanwhile, her Wehrmacht was now three regiments strong.
She named the later two regiments, the Brandenburg Regiment and the Grenadier Regiment 950.
The soldiers were now trained and were routinely going through exercise and monster extermination inside the dark forest.
A large road all the way from the garrison to the treasure stock was made.
However, the inside of the forest was still dangerous and monsters would regularly try to attack them whenever someone entered.
Though this didn't stop the soldiers from going in and looting the treasure.
In the meantime she also came up with a luftwaffe as well.
Though she had to work really hard on the matter, it was something she was proud of.
Using the vast amount of woods she got from clearing the road to the dark forest, she made some glider aircrafts.
She was grateful for her previous self who had played with wooden toy aircrafts with her father from her previous life.
This experience along with her knowledge about the luftwaffe gliders helped her make gliders of her own.
Though she had to do a bit of study along with cramming through her memory to make sure the weight and flight ratio of the glider was okay.
First she built the toy aircraft she used to play with to make sure that she got everything right on a miniature scale before moving on to the bigger human sized ones.
The biggest problem she faced while operating her luftwaffe was that there was no way to launch the aircraft safely into sky.
Though using powerful ballistas solved this problem to some extent but the wooden body of the glider couldn't handle the pressure, while the ballistas couldn't handle the heavier and sturdier gliders.
The only solution Erika could come up with was using Blohm and Voss BV 40, a single seater light fighter glider equipped with a single MG 42.
However, its internal mechanism was a bit complex and Erika had to oversimplify the entire process with the help of the craftsmen.
They also helped her make the body of the glider and use body strengthening magic on the thing to keep it from breaking apart due to the stress during take-off and landings.
The simplification included using the weight shifting techniques often used by early gliders to bank right and left.
While a simplistic elevator control was added to make sure that it could go up or down using wires and the flaps of the tail wing.
It took her a long time before she could make the first operational glider and the ballista to launch it into the sky.
First she tested with an empty glider loaded with 70 kg of bricks to make sure that her glider could take that weight.
As for safe landing she planned to use a giant net in which the glider would be caught.
The pilot will guide the aircraft straight to the net and take shelter in the fuselage filled with soft cushions so that the pilot could survive.
This safety measure was a lesson Erika learned the hard way after breaking her ribs while operating the glider.
She was healed fully thanks to Eugen. Who was always present during the tests.
At the end the glider was successful and Erika now had a functioning Luftwaffe.
All of her soldiers and even Emil and Bauer were mesmerised when they saw the aircraft fly in the sky.
They couldn't say a single word as they saw their little commander was now flying in the sky.
And once she landed safely, they all swarmed around her. Hugged her and praised her forgetting their military status.
Since there was no previous example of flights, she had to command the luftwaffe herself.
However she had to hand it over to another excellent pilot very soon.
Soon her time to be enrolled into the magic academy.
Erika was not to keen to be enrolled there.
"Aghh, I don't want to be enrolled into that academy. It will be my and my family's doom."
She thought lying in her bed. But her worries were useless and she was enrolled into the academy whatsoever.
Erika also had a farewell with the troops before leaving.
A military farewell fit for a general.
A feast of beef roast was made. The soldiers ate and drank along with her. They gave her some parting gifts.
"Hey, why are you all acting as if I'm leaving you guys forever?" Erika frowned.
"I am going to the magic academy for just three years. After that I will again assume direct command of the force. Also I will visit you every year during summer vacation. So don't dare slack off with the training."
The troops felt a bit shamed. Some even had their faces turn red.
"Ha,ha." Erika laughed at the face of her troops. They all laughed as well.
"Listen, in my absence Emil will be in charge of you temporarily. And I will issue orders through the telephone whenever necessary."
The farewell party was ended with a military cultural programme where soldiers sang, danced and made jokes.
That night Erika also received parting gifts from her parents as well.
They hugged and kissed her.
"Ah, my daughter is now grown up going to live in the capital all on her alone, sob.." Erika's mother cried while hugging her.
"Hey don't break her mind. It is all for her future." The duke comforted his wife.
"I pray to the God that you learn much and make great friends at the capital." The duke said to Erika while patting her head.
At the end of the day Erika was exhausted.
She had to pack her belongings throughout the whole day. The preparations were hard and long.
After the packings she went to the military farewell and finally the family farewell all of this had left Erika fairly tired.
At night she couldn't help think about what she would face in her school.
She decided to keep minimal contact with the heroine and the game cast including the prince, her fiancée.
At the thought of the prince she was a bit anxious. She felt that the way the prince acted in the past few years after their engagement was weird.
"According to the game, the prince though didn't have a good relationship would still meet her or would even exchange some formal letters." She thought.
But not only did this prince refused to visit her, he didn't write any letters all this time and even didn't reply to the letters she sent him during formal occasions.
Though Erika was happy that the prince didn't come to hamper her work.
Next day at the morning after an early breakfast, Erika left the palace with her father and Bauer. Her mother on the other hand remained in the territory.
A big and nice carriage was prepared for Erika to travel to the capital. The carriage had the coat of arms of the Raubenbraum family.
A double headed black eagle with yellow shield at the center of it's chest. The shield was yellow in color and had the drawings of a knight in chainmail golden armour killing a hideous monster with his sword.
Erika entered the carriage. The inside was also beautiful and full of various drawings. As she sat on the bench of the carriage, she felt it was very soft and comfortable.
Seeing her happy with the comfortable seats her father spoke.
"Don't worry the journey will be of a few days. So I made sure the seats were soft enough for you to endure it."
"T-thanks father." Etrika replied.
She was a bit off guard when her father suddenly spoke.
Soon Erika parted ways with the palace and the people she knew.
She felt a bit lonely.
Noticing her sad mood her father started talking to her.
"Do not be down. Once you enter the academy and make friends, you will not feel lonely anymore. Besides the academy is a very good and lively place. I think you will feel comfortable there."
"I hope so father." She said.
At the mention of the academy Erika felt unease. She didn't know what would happen at the academy where all of her doom flags were concentrated.
"Sigh.." Erika let out a deep breath.
"Oh, don't feel sad," Erika's father said.
"You have never been out of the territory right? So enjoy the beautiful scenery. The journey will be a few days long so feel free to tell me if there is any discomfort."
Erika, the duke and Bauer chatted the whole time. Sometimes the duke showed them the scenery outside the carriage.
Four horse mounted knights were escorting them. Two at the front and two at the back.
At night they stopped at a town inn. The inn was fairly good for a great noble and his daughter.
All of them were tired from the day's journey and went to sleep early. Erika and Bauer shared a room while the duke was at another.
"I am accustomed to long journeys from my previous life but this is entirely a new experience." Erika thought in her bedroom.
She was tired from the journey and soon dosed off.
The next day after breakfast at the inn they again started their journey towards the royal capital.
This routine continued for a few days when finally they reached the royal capital at the evening.
Erika was surprised to see the scenery of the royal capital.
It was busy and lively even in the evening and many street lamps were being lit by the city guards.
In the markets the people were still going on about their daily business. It was a scene that Erika didn't see since leaving her previous world.
In the raubenbraum territory people didn't leave their house after dark. Previously due to the fear of monsters from the dark forest which is still alive in the memory of the people and now as a habit.
"Old habits sure die hard." Erika thought.
Since it was almost dark, instead of going to the academy they settled at the duke's mansion for the night.
The mansion was in the inner part of the city where mostly nobles and city officials would live.
The greater the rank of the noble the closer to the royal capital they would chose to live.
The royal palace was the grandest structure in the city followed by the royal magic academy. It rest on the top of a small hill in the center of the city and was surrounded by thick walls which were strictly guarded 24/7.
The magic academy was just on the foot of that hill very close to the palace and was also guarded very carefully by the royal knights.
The mansion of duke Walther Raubenbraum was also very close to the royal academy. So Erika could have easy access from the mansion to the academy.
However, she had to stay at the academy hostel as this was the general rule for every student.
Entering her father's mansion Erika felt a hint familiarity and ease.
"It seems the interior of the mansion is the same as the palace in our territory." She said.
"Ah, yes. I based it on the same design by the same designer as the palace in the territory." The duke said.
"I hope you like it."
"Yes, thank you very much father. I feel like being at home here. It's very comfortable."
"Your room is on the second floor to right. You can go and rest now. Tomorrow will be the entrance ceremony for the academy."
"As you wish father."
With these words Erika went upstairs to her room and immediately fell asleep after taking a bath with Bauer.
The next day was the entrance ceremony. Erika stood at the giant grilled two parts gate in front of the academy.
"So it begins." She thought.
