The factor of whether Erika will joining the team or not was forgotten for some time but it was ever present on Everyone's mind. Erika thought about how to persuade Emil and Bauer to join while Emil and Bauer didn't entertain this idea in the slightest. They were determined as well. It had become a frozen conflict. However it didn't stop neither Erika nor them from having their own plans. But since everyone was busy in their works, there were no more talks about it. Erika continued to build the Mp40 schmeisser submachine gun, Emil was busy with troops training while Bauer helped to maintain the weapons service worthy. But since the number of weapons were increasing it was becoming increasingly hard for her alone to maintain the weapons. Erika had advised her to make the maids who are closest to her to help with the maintenance. Bauer recruited two of her best friends Emma and Emily. They were both maids who had close relations to Bauer and they had also proven themselves as reliable. They were sisters who were handpicked from the royal capital and used to work in the palace. But they were framed by some nobles of mismanaging and were fired. However, Erika's father took them in and Bauer was in charge for looking after them for sometimes. This made the three very close. It took them only a few displays before they were able to clean the guns themselves. But with increasing numbers they were not enough as well. Luckily not every gun required daily maintenance and only the weapons used were cleaned and checked. Erika was busy. It was not that hard for her to build an Mp40 since it was short and had a simple blowback mechanism. Though for her the problem was the lack of gunpowder since the released gases were used to keep the gun firing continuously. "I watched a video documentary once on in my previous life on how the German weapons worked. I think the Mp40 in itself is just a bolt moving back and forth but fast." She thought to herself. "Maybe I can use an enchanted spring with same effects." With this thought in mind she started to make the Mp40. She had to try several times before coming up with an optimal option of using a blend of magical blowback. Using an enchanted spring that received the recoil from the fire and using excess magical energy to drive the bolt forward and backwards. This required some extra work and she ran out of mana after making only three. "This is surprising. It seems that despite having huge magic reserve, I still empty my reserve. It seems Wehrmacht weapons really are overrated. Though I will have to continue to make Panzerfausts, MG42s and artilleries. I must think of a way to mass-produce these things." Erika thought about the days lessons in her bed at night. The bullets were made by her craftsmen. They could produce the 9x19mm parabellum bullet alongside the 7.92x57mm mauser bullets. Erika planned on manufacturing only the parabellum for sidearms and submachine-guns and the mauser for machine-guns and rifles. "As for the artillery, I think the 75mm Leichte Infanterie Geschutz will suffice. The MG42 will be used for anti-air defence." These were her plans for her Wehrmacht's armaments. Though the problem of Panzerfausts remain.
The next day, she was able to produce 6 Mp40s. "I guess I still have enough mana. Maybe the exhaustion yesterday was because of the trials." Erika happily thought. "Ok, since I have enough Mp40s I will focus on the Panzerfaust next. But before that, Emil today you will train with Bauer with these Mp40s." Emil was observing the recruits as they were in their lunch break. The six craftsmen were there as well. while Bauer was distributing. As a result they were both nearby. Erika called them out. Emil and Bauer both came. "Bauer you are to leave the maintenance task to Emma and Emily. And focus on training with the Mp40 Emil too. Dismiss the recruits and craftsmen for today and focus here. This weapon can fire upto 300 rounds per minute." With this word Erika sighed. "It seems magic and alternate ways cannot be as good as the real deal. My version can fire a 100 rpm less than the original." She was not happy she looked down for a moment. Bauer caught onto it she inquired, "What's the matter milady? Why do you look sad in spite of making such a powerful weapon?" "No, no it's nothing," Erika denied while shaking her head left and right. She thought for a moment, "I should be happy with what I have. If I can't trust my weapons how can they?" Now she cleared her head and continued with the instructions, "Anyways listen, as I said this type of weapon can fire at an extremely high rate. So you have to make sure not to waste your ammo. Lets go to the temporary firing station." Erika had turned the vast backyard into her training ground. Originally it was a garden. The outer section was a flower garden followed by a vast fruit garden. The various fruit trees densely packed in the garden made it resemble a small forest in itself. Due to the denseness of trees even the gardner would seldom enter and the deepest parts were void of any human presence. This part was cleared under Erika's instruction where she set up the training ground. There was still tension among the three of them and it was apparent in their behaviour. The silence when they were going to the training station was awkward. Emil would seldom talk. Erika thought that she had to lighten them up of from this tension. Erika took a deep breath and spoke up to the two, "Listen Emil and Bauer, please forgive me for yesterday. I didn't mean it when I said I would fire you. I was just frustrated since you still see me as a child." Bauer was the first to react, "Milady we never took your words to mind. We know you treasure us. You are doing all of this for our sakes." Bauer stopped for a moment. Emil spoke in, "Milady, we don't consider you a child acting on a whim. If we did we would never have went on with our ideas up till now." This eased Erika's mind. She reflected on the things she thought last day and teared up. Bauer and Emil patted her head with a smile, "Silly girl, don't cry." They both said. Erika pouted, "I am not a silly girl." They all laughed it out.
They arrived at the firing station. Erika took one Mp40 in her hand and went to the shooting position. She knew that the recoil of the gun was hard for her to control so she lied down on the ground holding the gun tightly in her shoulders with both hands. Her right hand was on the guns pistol grip while other hand was on below the barrel. The brace was expanded to help her grip the gun tightly with her shoulder muscles. "brrrr" she fired a short burst of 5 rounds. "Ah, it seems my aim is a bit off but learning how soldiers handled their weapons during world war 2 has really paid off. Though my shoulders hurt a little." Erika thought to herself. She looked at her right side where Emil and Bauer were standing and said, "See this?" "Y-yes, milady." Both of them were surprised and Erika's word brought them back to sense. Their surprise was more to the fact that even a 10 year old girl can handle this weapon. "This gun must be fired accurately." Erika continued after listening to their reply. "You must target accurately and fire short bursts just like I did or else you will run out of ammo. This gun has less range then rifles so don't shoot at faraway enemies. Locate your target, point the gun and pull the trigger but only for a second." Erika instructed them. "Now take one gun and three magazines for each of you and try it out. Today I will train with you, so follow my lead." Erika told them. They both took the guns and started to train as Erika instructed. "This is my chance to show that I can protect myself on the battlefield and gain their acceptance." Erika thought while grinning. "Brrr, brrrr...brrrr" The sound of firing in short time gap kept coming. "With this my preparation is only half complete. Tomorrow I have to make the Panzerfausts and train the Panzerjagers. Otherwise I can't go on with this mission." "Emil, Bauer now lets try shooting while standing." She said. Bauer replied first, "Milady will you be able to handle the gun while standing?" It was obvious that Bauer was worried. Emil, however was silent. "Yes, I can." Erika replied firmly. All of them stood up and continued firing. "brrrr... brrrrr.....brrrrr" The sound of gunfire in short breaks continued.
