The ghost grabs Shay as soon as he can and lifts her into the air.
"AAAAAA! WHAT'S HAPPENING!" She screams. Carly and Ben visibly tense up and look to be about a second away from freaking out.
"Leslie, catch," Belle says, grabbing the Butcher's Cleaver out from the system and throwing it at Leslie. He catches the cleaver as Belle retrieves his axe and they both attack the ghost at the same time. Belle swings at it while Leslie goes for a stab. Belle's swing misses as the ghost drops Shay and dodges, but Leslie's attack goes through his leg.
"Urgh what are you doing!" The ghost screams and looks around to find out who attacked him. The ghost's eyes seem unfocused as he glances around the room. 'Ah, it must be the confusion effect, this makes things easier.' Belle swings at the ghost again, he tries to dodge but his stomach gets slashed. The ghost shakes his head, breaking out of the confusion, and upon noticing he got wounded, he flies into a fit of rage.
"How dare you hurt me! I'll kill you all!" He shouts, the miasma in the room spikes and it makes Belle dizzy for a second. Unknown emotions flow into him, making everything seem annoying, from the sound of everyone breathing to the way they look. Belle quickly shakes himself out of it, but the same can't be said for the rest of the group. The tension in the air rises as the group goes from fear to glaring at each other.
"What are you looking at!" Shay snaps at Ben and Carly.
"You don't need to be so temperamental, you paid the consequences for summoning a ghost." Ben chastises.
"Couldn't you people have just done the tour calmly!?" Carly exclaims.
"All of you shut up! You're getting on my nerves." Leslie glares at them.
"This isn't good," Belle mumbles, turning to the cause of the tension. The ghost seems to be enjoying the infighting as he floats around and laughs at their expressions.
"Ahahaha, good, good, fight more." He cackles. Belle uses this chance while he's distracted to sneak up on him with the axe, bringing it down on his shoulder, and making another wound.
"Krgh, why aren't you affected!" The ghost shrieks. Belle tries to attack again but is interrupted by a fight breaking out as Ben tries to punch Shay. Belle hurriedly moves in between them, stopping the punch.
"Stop fighting!" He orders. The ghost uses his distraction to swing down at Belle with a clawed hand, leaving a row of scratches on his back.
"But this bitch deserves it, she's been running her mouth the whole time!" Ben argues. Carla and Leslie nod their heads in agreement.
"I don't give a shit! Stop fighting for one second so I can take care of this." Belle tells them, he steps away and grabs the axe to chase after the ghost that floats away from him each time. The miasma in the room slowly increases and even Belle finds himself getting more and more annoyed at the ghost. A verbal argument starts behind him, and Belle realizes he's had enough.
"Right, get down here you bitch, I'm going to tear you to pieces." He threatens. Belle throws his axe at the ghost, who clearly wasn't expecting it, and it gets stuck in the ghost's chest. Belle follows it up by grabbing the axe handle and swinging it up, catching the ghost in the chin and splitting his face in half.
"Ah, ah, my face! What did you do!" He screams.
"Just die already," Belle says coldly, grabbing what remains of the ghost's face and exorcising him. The tension in the room slowly dissipates as everyone regains their cool.
"W-what just happened?" Carly questions.
"This one right here summoned a ghost despite it obviously being a bad idea," Belle explains, pointing to Shay. Her face goes through a mix of emotions as it gradually turns red.
"I'm sorry." She apologizes.
"It's fine, but you guys should probably get out of here, it's dangerous," Leslie warns them.
"You're right, this situation is strange, we should leave." Ben agrees. With everyone else nodding their heads, they get prepared to leave, until Belle feels the miasma in the asylum increase tenfold.
"What happened!?" Leslie exclaims.
"I think someone must have summoned a strong spirit, it must've been Glenn, I knew something was up," Belle says.
"But I thought you said Glenn left?" Carly wonders.
"I didn't want you to worry, he went off on his own, but his attitude was strange so I didn't say anything," Belle responds. Leslie opens the door to the hallway and checks outside, quickly returning with a pale look on his face.
"There's a shit ton of ghosts out there." He informs Belle, who goes to check himself and finds multiple spirits floating around the hallway.
"What should we do?" Leslie asks.
"Shit, we need to find a way out of the asylum, I'll go scout the hallways and see what I can find, be right back," Belle says, he opens the door slightly and sneaks outside. The ghosts don't notice him thanks to his ability, he doesn't go near any of them so he doesn't get found out. The ghosts increase in density as he gets closer to the stairs, he peeks over the top and finds the first floor covered in ghosts, but the way up is suspiciously lacking some. 'Damnit, they must be trying to lead us up.' Belle sneaks back to the room to report his findings.
"It looks like we have to go up, we can't make it through that many ghosts, the only way we can get out is to defeat the main ghost causing all this," Belle explains.
"I think I have an idea of who it might be, Dr. Lawly, who I talked about earlier, his office is on the third floor," Carly informs them.
"Bingo, that's definitely where we need to go," Leslie states.
"We can protect you guys, but be careful, this will probably be dangerous," Belle tells them. The looks on their faces is apprehensive, but they all nod with determination, showing that they want to get out of here alive. Belle resolves to protect them no matter what.
