Chapter 7 - A father's fury

Kaito barely made it home before the familiar chill of unease settled over him again. This time, it wasn't the abyssal energy surging through him—it was something more ancient, more powerful. As he stepped through the door of his apartment, the air itself seemed to thrum with malevolent energy.

Suddenly, the lights flickered, and the room darkened. In the corner, a figure materialized, its form towering and regal, with eyes that glowed a deep crimson.

It was Seraphina's father, the King of the Abyss.

"You," the demon king hissed, his voice like thunder. "You dare lay claim to my daughter?"

Kaito felt the weight of his gaze, his knees threatening to buckle under the pressure. The power radiating from the demon king was far greater than anything he had felt before—far greater even than Seraphina's.

"She is not an object to be claimed," Kaito replied, fighting to keep his voice steady. "She chose me."

The demon king's laugh was a low, rumbling sound that reverberated through the room. "You are but a mortal. My daughter is eternal. This... infatuation will end, one way or another."

As Kaito struggled to stand tall, the door burst open, and Seraphina rushed in. "Father, stop!"

The demon king turned to his daughter, his gaze softening only slightly. "Seraphina, you know this is foolishness. Return to the Abyss where you belong."

Seraphina's expression hardened. "I choose my own path. Kaito is part of that."

The demon king's eyes narrowed. "Then you will both face the consequences."

And with that, he vanished, leaving behind an ominous silence.
