The tension from the demon king's visit hung in the air long after he left. Kaito's mind buzzed with questions. Seraphina had stood up to her father, but how long could they resist the overwhelming power of the Abyss itself?
The next day, Kaito decided to return to school. As usual, Seraphina kept her distance, her gaze always watchful, but there was something else too—an unease that Kaito couldn't place. The streets felt oddly quiet, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
At lunch, while Kaito sat alone at a table, a new presence arrived. Her beauty was ethereal, her skin glowing faintly under the sun, and her golden hair seemed to shine with a light of its own. She moved with grace that left everyone in awe, and her eyes—bright and blue like the sky itself—locked onto Kaito as if she had known him all her life.
She walked straight over to his table, her voice soft but firm. "Kaito, right?"
He nodded, a sense of familiarity washing over him, though he couldn't place why.
"I'm Celestia," she said, smiling sweetly. "We've never officially met, but I've been watching you."
Kaito blinked, taken aback. "Watching me?"
Celestia laughed, a light, musical sound. "Of course. You've been causing quite a stir. Gaining the powers of the Abyss, dating a demon queen... you're not exactly ordinary, are you?"
The mention of Seraphina set off alarm bells in Kaito's mind. "What do you want?"
Her expression softened as she sat down beside him, leaning closer than he was comfortable with. "I'm not here to fight, Kaito. I'm here to help you."
"Help me?" Kaito's voice was wary. "How?"
Celestia's eyes gleamed. "You're playing a dangerous game with the Abyss, but I can offer you a different path—one where you don't have to risk losing yourself. With me, you can be free of the darkness, free of the demon world."
Kaito tensed. "And what would that mean for Seraphina?"
Celestia's smile faltered for a moment, but she recovered quickly. "Seraphina's a demon, Kaito. Her world isn't meant for you. You belong with someone... more suited to you. Someone like me."
Before he could respond, the atmosphere around them shifted. Shadows rippled across the courtyard as Seraphina appeared, her eyes blazing with fury. "Celestia."
The angel girl rose gracefully, unbothered by Seraphina's sudden arrival. "Seraphina," she said, her tone calm but challenging. "It's been a while."
Kaito stood between them, his pulse racing. He could feel the tension rising. "What's going on?"
Seraphina's gaze didn't leave Celestia. "This angel," she spat, "thinks she can take you from me."
Celestia's expression hardened. "I'm not the enemy here, Kaito. Seraphina's world will destroy you if you're not careful. I'm offering you salvation. What she offers is damnation."
Seraphina stepped closer, her voice low and dangerous. "He's not yours to save."
Kaito could feel the Abyss stirring inside him, reacting to the conflict. He looked between them, torn between two worlds that seemed determined to tear each other apart.
