Chapter 10 - The abyss calls

That night, Kaito couldn't sleep. The weight of everything hung heavy on his mind. His chest throbbed, the Abyssal mark pulsing as if it had a life of its own. He tossed and turned, but no matter how hard he tried, the dark whispers of the Abyss crept into his mind.

He bolted upright, his breath coming in short gasps. The room was eerily quiet, but the shadows seemed to shift and move around him. He pressed a hand to his chest, feeling the familiar tug of the Abyss trying to pull him in deeper.

"Come to us, Kaito..."

The voice was soft but insistent, echoing in the corners of his mind. He gritted his teeth, trying to block it out, but it was growing louder, stronger.

Before he knew it, his feet hit the cold floor, and he found himself moving toward the door as if guided by an invisible force. The mark on his chest burned hotter with every step, urging him forward.

As he stepped outside, the chill of the night air hit him, but it did nothing to quell the heat inside him. His vision blurred, the world around him shifting as if reality itself was warping.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him cracked, and tendrils of darkness shot up, wrapping around his legs and pulling him toward the inky void opening beneath his feet.

"Kaito!"

Seraphina's voice cut through the night, and in an instant, she was by his side, her hands gripping his arms. Her eyes blazed with fury as she fought against the Abyss's pull.

"You need to fight it!" she shouted, her voice desperate. "Don't let it take you!"

But Kaito couldn't move. The shadows were too strong, their hold on him tightening. His heart pounded in his chest, fear rising as he felt himself slipping away.

Suddenly, a brilliant light flashed in the distance, and Celestia appeared, her wings glowing as she descended from the sky.

"Kaito!" Celestia called, her voice filled with urgency. "Let go of the darkness! I can save you!"

Seraphina snarled, her grip tightening on Kaito. "He doesn't need you!"

The two girls locked eyes, their powers flaring as they prepared to clash. The tension between them was electric, the air thick with unspoken rage.

But before either of them could make a move, the ground beneath Kaito gave way entirely, and he was swallowed by the Abyss.
