Chapter 14 - Chapter-14 Excited? Pansy, Something Is Wrong With You!

Late at night, Kyle quietly opened the bedroom door. The young Slytherins were fast asleep. If anything captivated Kyle about Hogwarts, it was the treasure chests he could acquire through his interactions with characters. The next thing that fascinated him was the enormous library, especially the restricted section filled with advanced magical knowledge.

From his experience in a Western Fantasy system, Kyle had come to understand that, to some extent, the pure-blood ideologies supported by certain wizarding families held a grain of truth. In the Harry Potter universe, wizards were more akin to warlocks, drawing their power from their bloodlines, with magical abilities passed down to their children. However, Kyle believed that the true strength of a wizard lay in knowledge, not in the reckless pursuit of greater spells or raw magical power.

As he entered the common room, he noticed a pair of dark eyes quietly watching him. "Good evening, Miss Parkinson," he greeted politely, though the context was far from ordinary. The eerie sight of more than a dozen young Slytherins suspended from the ceiling would have terrified anyone. Exhausted and overwhelmed, they had all passed out, except for Pansy, who remained awake, her face flushed in the moonlight.

"To be clear, if you ask around Knockturn Alley, you'll find out what kind of person I am," Kyle said with a slight edge to his voice. "I trust you're smart enough to know what to say and what not to say, right? I really don't like having to deal with a lady in unpleasant ways." He toyed with his wand, pointing it slightly at Pansy, the threat clear in his tone. Pansy remained silent, turning her head, her legs subtly tense under her robes.

Suddenly, Kyle's system rang in his mind: *Ding! Excitement detected! Treasure chest being extracted! Congratulations, you've obtained a golden treasure chest!* Although pleased, something felt off. Excitement? He glanced at Pansy, deciding to focus on his main objective for now.

Later, in a dimly lit corridor, Kyle gave orders to his two Pokémon. "The night watchman here is Filch. He's a Squib, meaning he can't use magic, but he has a cat—Mrs. Norris. If you help me capture her, we'll be able to roam the castle freely at night."

Sun Eevee and Moon Eevee, cat-like in appearance and poised with elegance, were perfect for the task. Kyle was confident they could win Mrs. Norris over with ease. However, when Mrs. Norris finally appeared, things went wrong. Instead of charming her, the two Eevees charged at her with their skills. Mrs. Norris was knocked into the air by Sun Eevee and pinned to the ground by Moon Eevee before she even knew what hit her.

Kyle's confident grin disappeared. This is not what I meant by 'settling'! Do you even understand finesse?! he thought in frustration. Before Kyle could react further, heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor. Filch, carrying an old oil lamp, appeared. "Mrs. Norris? What happened to you?" His eyes filled with horror as he spotted his beloved cat on the ground.

"Mr. Filch, I can explain…" Kyle began weakly, ready to make up an excuse about a shadow attacking Mrs. Norris. But before he could, the two Eevees exchanged glances. Sun Eevee: "Hey, what now?" Moon Eevee: "Take him down!" Without warning, they pounced on Filch, leaving him unconscious alongside Mrs. Norris.

Ding! Fear detected! Treasure chest being extracted! Congratulations, you've obtained a bronze treasure chest!

Kyle sighed as the system chimed again. His teeth clenched in frustration. Great. First night at Hogwarts, and I've already knocked out the castle's night watchman... and his cat.*
