In the gym, he ran on the treadmill and looked at his distance. He had gone a total of four miles, leaving only another four left. But at this rate, he was gonna fall off the treadmill. The speed of the treadmill slowly lowered as time passed until Jake was walking. "Dang, I might have to fail a daily mission!" Thinking about the punishment, Jake had an unwilling expression. However, it was almost midnight, and his legs were feeling like jelly.
Sitting down was a big mistake as once he did, he had become stuck to the spot. He had lost all strength in his muscles as he could only sit as he watched the time tick down.
Soon only fifteen minutes remained till midnight, making Jake extremely anxious, "Is it gonna throw me in the desert with sandworms attacking me?" Thinking of the worst scenario, Jake even began shaking. "No, four miles in 15 minutes? I can do it, no I must do it!" With ample time to be able to get off the bench, he was ready to take on the treadmill again.
He only got one mile in before it was about to turn midnight. With a pale expression, he held his book out and wanted to watch it. He was currently in the bathroom, making sure that no one could see what would happen next.
Glancing at the time, he watched as the time hit midnight. Hearing something, he watched as a new page began to form.
Description: Look around the world, find 8 unique places, and interact with them. Places Found: 0 / 8 Reward: Wheel Ticket> Looking at the new quest, he was glad to see it was a quest that wouldn't make him bored. He was still frightened about failing the other quest so he turned over to it and held his breath. Description: Run 10 miles! Miles Ran: 8 / 10 Reward: 50 SP (Halved due to taking over 24 hours.)> Holding his chest, Jake sighed in relief, "It seems there is only a decrease in rewards when I don't finish it in time. I am glad I don't have to get thrown into a battle arena." Jake was indeed terrified something like that would happen so he was happy to see he was wrong. He was glad to note that he could still finish it after the day was over. With that, Jake felt it was the perfect opportunity to leave. When Jake got home he crashed on his bed instantly. It seemed the past week of using this new power had finally gotten to Jake now that there were no deadlines over his head. With that exhaustion, he didn't wake up till close to noon the next day. "Dang, I missed my chance to talk to Chad." Jake wanted to get Chad's opinion on things, but it seemed he would have to wait till the next day. He felt refreshed though as he got ready for the day. He debated on what he wanted to do as he felt that the time was a little tight today due to his greedy sleep schedule. Wanting to not ruin his routine, he went to the gym as usual, this time he spent a little bit more time running so he could complete that previous daily quest. When he did, he felt it instantly turn into gold and add a little to his shop points. After leaving the gym, he had only a little bit of time to explore the city. Although he wanted to spend a lot more time on it, it seemed he would have to rush through today's daily quest. He had no desire to see his wheel ticket ripped in two. He went into a fancy smoothie shop which refueled himself after the workout. After which, he walked into the local historical museum, and looked at different things like bones, artworks, and old gun models. Another place that stuck out to him was a small restaurant called Bone Barrel. It was a bar and steak place in which they had an outdoor area where you could throw knives and axes at targets. He planned to come back here in the future. And so after about two hours of exploring, he finished his quest and went to work. Here he did the same as usual, his sword watching, and grip training. With the day coming to a close, he left work and had a troubled expression. He wanted to take his sword to practice his swings, but with it being so dark, and his parents home he didn't want to practice in his backyard. Jake could only grit his teeth and ask the gym if he could train there. When he got there, he told of his plight of needing a place to train his swordsmanship. The middle-aged woman got up and looked at the scabbard on his waist and thought for a moment. Sitting back down, she spoke, "Give me a moment." She started typing as she messaged someone. Jake had to wait ten minutes before the woman finally spoke again. "Sure, you can go in, but it must be in one of the backrooms and if you break anything the damage will be placed on you." Hearing the good news, Jake was excited. At this point of waiting, he figured he would have to leave disappointed but it seems even the gods want him to practice. Thanking the lady, he walked to the back and did his exercises. He only dared to do normal swing exercises as his Gale Storm Sword was too erratic and could bring him down a few hundred dollars. There were just too many mirrors here! After a nice long workout, he left happily. At home, he sat on his bed feeling sore. But as he was about to head to bed, he got a text. "Yo man, you are coming to graduation practice tomorrow, right? You need to come to be allowed to do the ceremony." It was Lucien. When Jake read it, he cursed his forgetfulness. Due to him graduating, there was also a graduation ceremony, thus it seemed he would be busy tomorrow. He also remembered this was when he got his exam scores back. That would decide if he was able to go on a nice vacation this summer. Texting back he would come, and he asked for the time. And with a text confirming it would be after his workout, he sighed in relief and headed to bed.
