Taking the bus, Jake looked at the school in a daze. Although real graduation wasn't here, the practice was here. Even though it had only been a few days since he came, he felt that it had been weeks. This was of course so much had happened in a span of just a few days. 'Hehe, would they believe me if I said I had sex?' Thinking of what they would say, Jake had a devious smile. Of course, he wouldn't mention it as he would have to construct an elaborate lie for it to make sense. At that point, he should just lie about the whole experience.
Shaking his head, he walked into the school. It felt oddly quiet as the last day had already passed. Although he felt a little heartache about missing the last day of high school, he cared too much as the only thing that mattered was his friends. Who he would be seeing shortly.
Walking down the hall, he went to the doors of the auditorium. There was already a small line of people waiting to get in. Going to the back, he asked one of the guys why they couldn't go in, "Ah, they have to register all of us and they will give us our exam results back." Nodding in understanding, Jake was a little nervous. Although his exams didn't completely determine his fate in graduating, if he failed too many it would be bad. 'Isn't it weird to give them out like this though?'
Jake watched as most people entered, but a small few were rejected and had sullen expressions. 'This feels too heartless. It's like telling someone their parents died at an amusement park.' Although Jake found it odd, he didn't mind as the lines continued forward. As it did, he saw a few people who he recognized go to the end of the line. Of course, he saw Lucien come in. It was no surprise that he didn't recognize him at first glance.
Jake texted and told Lucien he saw him, which made Lucien look all around but he couldn't see Jake. Jake only laughed to himself as he revealed his new look after they had entered.
Soon it was his turn, and considering they hadn't turned him away he had indeed the qualifications to graduate. Walking into the gym, he looked at his paper. "Phew, all passed. But man, that was a close call." Looking at his science exam he recalled how he had been so preoccupied with Selina that he indeed almost failed it.
Finally looking up, he saw a huge amount of chairs, and groups of people all in different areas talking. "Of course, there is a lot, everyone will be here after all." Their class of people had quite a lot of people since it was considered a somewhat good school in the city. There were close to 500 people in their class which thankfully the gym could hold. Walking around, Jake found a corner to stand in as he browsed his phone. Although it looked like that, he was using his Omniscient Eye to look at everyone from the sky.
With his constant use, he was starting to become more proficient in it, making his head not hurt as much when he released it. Gazing at different people, Jake sighed. Memories flew but as he recalled fun moments where he had shared classes with a lot of these people.
Recalling it all, and looking at the many groups, Jake felt a little bit lonely. His power was something that needed to stay hidden. With his power so many unexplainable things have happened to him and yet if others knew what would they think? It seemed like he was fated to be isolated from others due to this. Jake had a sad expression as he thought about the differences.
"Holy crap dude, what did you do?" Glancing up from his phone, he watched as Sven came over. He waved but had a surprised expression on his face. Smiling he talked with his head high, "I of course had to take things into my own hands. The old Jake is now more, now, the athletic Jake has returned." Flexing his muscles he laughed.
Sven indeed was only able to recognize him because he looked very similar to when he played lacrosse back then. "Dude, how did you lose so much weight in only a few days? Don't tell me you…" Mouthing a word, Jake rolled his eyes, "If course I didn't! Haven't you heard of muscle memory?" Giving a brief explanation of how muscle memory makes it easier for an ex-athlete to build muscle, Sven had a suspicious expression. "Well sure, just don't think you will hide it forever." Laughing, the two began talking. 'I am talking to an old friend and yet I still feel lonely.' Jake didn't show anything though as he talked with Sven.
Watching the door, he saw Lucien come in. Jake waved as he called Lucien over. Recognizing the voice, Lucien saw the two guys on the side. He knew Sven as an acquaintance, but when he saw Jake he was shocked. "Jake?" With a shocked expression, he looked Jake up and down. Sven laughed out loud, "Who else would carry a phone case with his waifu on it?" Looking at the phone in Jake's hands he recognized it with a shocked expression.
"You… Did you rob Jake!" Although he acted defensive it was clear he was joking. Jake explained how he had to lock in for when college started and advised the two guys to do the same. "Hey, are you saying we are ugly?" Sven had a bad expression as he crossed his arms. Jake shrugged his shoulders, "I mean I wouldn't call you handsome." The three guys laughed and when another friend of Jake's came in, Rob, he was also shocked at the sight.
A little after Rob arrived, someone came on the speakers and directed everyone to sit down as they explained everything. When they got their exams they all had a number that correlated to their seat. It was from an order of A-Z numbering. With Jake, he was closer to the front. Sitting down, he had two people beside him he didn't know too well. This made it kind of awkward as he could only sit there and listen.
