On the stair climber, Jake already estimated how long it would take to climb six miles. It was a long time. Taking his compendium out of his bag, he watched as the quest counter slowly ticked up. It seemed the Stairmaster did indeed count as elevation training.
After ten minutes though, Jake got off the climber. On the schedule given by Chad, he should only do a little bit of cardio at the start as a warmup and proceed with the exercises from there. Looking at his schedule, he did exercise after exercise pretty easily with the help of the guide, as there were even instructions for each workout. A lot of the beginning stuff was leg and waist workouts.
According to Chad, having a strong core, and sturdy legs was the core of a good swordsman. Although swordsmen need strong arms, without quick feet, a swordsman is doomed to fail. After the lower body workout, Jake moved to the upper body. Normal stuff like curls, bench, arm extensions, etc were a lot of the same stuff Jake had already done yesterday. The new one today was, of course, the sword swinging.
"He actually put it on here." Jake was a little flattered to see Chad putting in so much work for his idea, as there were different sword workouts like slashes, thrusts, and different slicing movements to execute.
Smiling, he picked up a stretching pole and examined it. Chad mentioned there was one around here, and it did seem like the perfect weight and length for a sword. Although he was a little embarrassed, since not many people were in the gym, he didn't have to worry about others making fun of him. By this time, Jake was already exhausted, but he was still pumped up.
"It seems that stat multipliers are helping!" The whole day didn't seem as grueling as a task as yesterday, making Jake much more motivated for the next couple of days ahead of him. Swinging his sword, he didn't dare face the few people watching, as he focused on the wall in front of him. Finally, after a long while of training, he finally finished his workout routine.
Sitting on the bench, he took in deep breaths as he felt his strength. It already felt like a noticeable difference from yesterday. Jake debated about finishing his daily quest now, but he had already been in the gym for close to two hours and his stomach was starting to hurt so I decided to come back after work.
With that, he went home and practiced his cooking. Comparing his current diet to Chad's, it wasn't too different, just small differences like protein powder, and salmon. After he was done eating, Jake checked the time. It was still too early for Joana to wake up, so he decided to hop on his games for a while. However, after only half an hour Jake was bored. Compared to the exciting stuff like his powers, games were not feeling as fun. "Dang, even my greatest joy has vanished due to this system."
With that, he could only dawdle around the house doing things like cleaning up and organizing his room. When it hit close to noon, Jake rode a bus to the local college, Rainard College. He wanted to grab more information on the Purple Foxes, in hopes he could find a clue to help Joana out. At this point, Jake was starting to fret about what he should do.
Description: You notice something is wrong with Joana from work. You decide to figure out the cause of it all. Deadline: 1 Day, 12 hours, 45 minutes. Reward: ???> With no leads, all he could do was walk around campus and ask people about the two groups. As he walked around, he saw a group of guys hanging out. They were on the sidewalk coming towards him, forcing Jake to move out of their way. "If I could be anyone, who would I be? Is that what you are asking?" One of them had a thinking expression as he walked. "Yes man, like I would love to be Chris Hemsworth, not only does he get to play Thor, the best superhero, but he's freaking Chris Hemsworth, which lady isn't falling for him?" Another guy spoke enthusiastically, making the other guys agree. "Yea, if I could be anyone it would be Colin Jost, the dude is freaking married to Scarlet Johanson, she's like a demoness with that body of hers." When the dudes heard that they all roared in agreement as they all started naming guys with hot wives. Jake scoffed, "If I could be anyone it would be Cooke Maroney, the man's married to freaking Jennifer Lawrence!" As he walked he daydreamed about that scenario. By the end of the two hours he had allotted himself, Jake didn't find much information. Not a lot of kids were on campus at the time, and Jake found it hard to talk to any of the girls walking by, making his interactions very few. The only information that he got was that Lewis Spriggs was out of town for that TV show he was recording. That did indeed help if push came to shove. This allowed him to get physical with Catherine if he needed to. Although he was still not a fan of hitting girls, he figured he might have to resign himself to that. … On his way back he grabbed some things from the store and headed home for work. Once he got home, he instantly went down the street to work. There, Old Bern had tons of stuff for him to do, like stocking up some products and moving boxes, and this only gave Jake a few hours of free time to chill. Of course, my free time was just waiting for customers. However, he did notice that the previously pretty heavy boxes of beer he had to carry had become a little lighter. It once again made him feel reassured of all the crazy things that had been happening in his life recently. Finally though after all the work he was able to sit at the cash register and chill.
