Waking up in the morning, the first thing Jake did was check his daily quest.
Description: Run on an incline for six miles. Miles Ran: 6 / 6 Reward: Wheel Ticket> With no second to waste, the sheet became a golden sheen, as it became one with the Compendium. On top of it was a familiar ticket. "Please, ticket, give me something good!" Immediately using it, the book floated in front of him and a familiar wheel took shape. Jake had no expectations on what to get, he just hoped it would give him something that could help for today's quest. Watching as it landed on red, he disappeared, and he read the description of the item. Item: Transformation Vial When this vial of liquid is applied to the body, it can transform the user into any being they can think of. Duration is one hour.> As Jake's eyes fell on the description, his mind rapidly turned. "This… this could work!" He already had an idea of how to use this for the quest. "Oh boy, this is gonna be fun Glancing at the new daily quest, his face froze. Description: Have your first kiss Kisses: 0 / 1 Reward: ???> Looking at the quest he felt like cursing. "How did you know I haven't had my first kiss!" Wanting to pound the book, with his fist, he stopped when he realized it was also his jewels. Calming down, a dead expression came on his face. "How am I supposed to get a kiss when I am so far from getting a girlfriend!" Jake felt like this book was mocking him, leaving him feeling helpless. "I hope there isn't a failure condition if I don't finish a quest." He could only pray such a thing indeed didn't exist. Getting ready for the gym felt a lot gloomier today after that. On the way there, he did a certain type of research for later today. The timer for the quest had already reached less than twenty-four hours so Jake was starting to sweat. In the gym, he was changing as usual when he noticed something in the mirror. "Is this me??" Looking at his body in the mirror, Jake, who had previously weighed close to 300 pounds, was now looking much skinnier than usual. "Is this because of the stat multiplier?" Finding a scale, he measured himself and was beyond shocked, "250!?! In only two days?" This was supernatural at this point. Checking himself out in the mirror, Jake indeed started to notice his slimmer body. If he was a basketball before, he now looked to be a little smaller than a volleyball. The difference wasn't much on the surface but it was starting to be known. Jake didn't care about the strength, being able to cut his weight down was all he could care about. Now more than ever, he was pumped up. Walking out the door, he saw Chad at a squat bar. Jake didn't know how much was on the bar, but it was a lot. Not wanting to interrupt Chad, he started with his treadmill warmup first. After he finished, he saw Chad on the side talking to a tanned man. He had short shorts, and a tank top, which made him look like a surfer. As Jake was about to do his other workouts, Chad waved to him from afar, "Yo bro!" Jake had to do a double take and make sure he wasn't talking to anyone else before walking over. He was very nervous as the tanned man had a stone-cold expression on. Doing his usual, Chad went in for a hughandshake. "Yo bro, how was the workout yesterday? Did it do you good?" Thinking about his workout, Jake smiled and nodded. "Yes! It was awesome, it truly did feel like I was practicing for the sword. Although the swinging the stick part was embarrassing, I was still able to go through with it." Jake didn't tell him about the incident last night, as it was too shameful. "I'm glad it worked out for you man! It wasn't too hard for you?" Shaking his head, Jake smiled, "Nope! It was really fun, I never knew working out could be this fun. It like takes all of my worries and squashes them, making me not think about them for an hour or two." This was the truth, Jake realized that when he worked out it was like it was its world, and all of his other thoughts would go away. "Yes! That's what it's all about bro. Working out isn't just for a result, its a journey itself. Never forget that." Tapping Jake's smile, Chad looked like a transcendent Buddha who came to give philosophical advice. "You embarrassed man?" Hearing the new voice, Jake looked over to the tanned man. He was a little nervous, especially after what he said. "I mean, it's not that normal of a thing, right?" Laughing to himself, Jake put his head down. Chad on the other hand didn't like this, "Victor, what's up with that?" He had a disappointed expression as he looked at the tanned man named Victor. Seeing that the two people didn't understand, he hurriedly explained, "I'm not saying it like that!" With an exasperated expression he spoke, "You said you wanted to be a swordsman right?" Jake sheepishly nodded as Victor talked. "Then don't be ashamed of it. Embarrassment is only a roadblock to your destination. You know, back when I was younger, I was in a band. This band only had the four of us…" Jake looked on in shock as the stoic man he thought Vicotr was just kept on talking about his band and other random things. Finally, Chad had to break the conversation, "Victor, get to the point, you've already lost bro." Looking at Jake who was tongue-tied, Victor gave a curt snort to himself, "Anyway kid, to overcome my fear of singing on stage, I had to do some embarrassing stuff, like singing in the mall, or different places. Once you realize that nothing can stop your passion, your talent will soar. Or at least thats what happened to me." He was now back to his stoic self who looked at Jake silently. Seeing his stare Jake nodded quickly, "Thank you, Mr. Victor, I think I understand what you are trying to say. I will make sure you too see a confident and strong swordsman in the future." Feeling the urge to do so, Jake saluted and walked over to the weight section. Looking at him saluting, Chad almost bursted out laughing but seeing Jake's serious expression he held it in. "See, isn't that kid different? And when have you learned to talk like that?" Elbowing his arm, Chad teased Viktor who only rolled his eyes. "Well, he may be different but lets see how he does in a week. Nodding the two left the gym area.
