Chereads / PRINCESS ENIKPI, I WILL BE BACK FOR MY THRONE. / Chapter 4 - FINALLY AT THE BORDERS

Chapter 4 - FINALLY AT THE BORDERS

4th June.

"Get up, get up it's morning already" granny kept on pestering me.

"What?" I stood up to find out it was indeed morning already.

"What's the time?" I asked as I brought my phone to check.

"2%? 9am?" I noticed my phone battery percentage before I even noticed the time.

"Guess we both fell asleep" granny said, although she told me for us to take turns sleeping but I can't even remember when I slept off, and I guess me and granny were tired and didn't wake up at all.

"Yeah" I looked around and the car seemed to be moving a bit slow than when it was Jim driving, everyone else was asleep it was me, granny, Joseph and Cynthia that were awake.

"Morning" grace said as she also got up.

"Morning" Martha said as she also got up, it seems that everyone else was waking up now.

"Here" granny said as she picked up the beanie from the floor as she placed it back on my head.

"You must be tired, let's switch again" Jim said.

"Why are we moving slow?" Grace asked.

"True, according to my calculations we should have been close to the borders by now" Jim said, so I am not tripping right? Is there something wrong with the car?

"Sorry about that, I did not want to disturb you guys by driving recklessly" Joseph said.

"We are fighting for our lives, you are talking about safety?" Martha burst into am emotional outburst.

"Calm down, park the car let's switch Joseph. It's okay, we would be in Nigeria by an hour or two" Jim tired to calm down everyone.

"That's going to be late, does anyone have a charger? Anyone?" I asked around as my phone was about dying and if it did there was now way we would be able to contact the prince and gain entry into the country.

"No I don't" grace responded.

"Is anyone's phone charged? Does anyone have a phone that is not low?" This was needed, I need to have his number down or that would be another issue on its own.

"Here you can use mine" Joseph said as he brought out his phone from his pocket.

"Thank you" I said as I quickly copied the number into his phone.

"I hope this is worth it though" a message from a contact named 'Donald' popped up on his phone.

"H..."

"Let me see" Joseph yanked his phone from my hands as fast as lightning.

"What was going on? What was he trying to hide from me so bad?" I thought to myself as I brushed it off, maybe it was someone else, maybe someone from Ida is contacting him and giving him information who knows.

"Joseph I can't see the other car, where are they?" Jim asked, there were 3 cars initially, then grandpa decided to go back and distract the car that was following us so we should be left with one car by our side protecting us.

"It passed us" Joseph answered.

"Passed us? How could you allow that? You mean we are not protected? How?" Jim was obviously pissed, no one can seem to understand why Joseph slowed us down, and also no one understands his motives for allowing the car pass us and not trying to keep up with them at least.

"You won't believe this" grace said as she hung her phone.

"What?" Martha asked.

"The other car made it all the way to the boarders, they are waiting for us to give instructions now" grace confirmed all of our thoughts.

(2 hours later)

"Dling dling" I began to call adekunle as we had reached the boarders and they denied us entry as I suspected.

"Hello" after dialing his number 10 times he finally answered.

"Hey Donald, it's me princess Enikpi, I am at your southern border please let me in" I did not have time to catch up or go into greetings, I went straight into my point.

"That's a lie, where did you get this number from? And I saw the news, are you trying to scam me?" He did not seem to believe me, well I guess the demonstration my parents did was worth it and believable.

"Come over and see for yourself, we are being chased please let us in" even though we last saw the car chasing us yesterday if could still be true and I could be in danger waiting outside.

"Okay, but wait for me there" adekunle said as he hung up the phone.

"I am thirsty, is there any water here?" Joseph asked, there was water in the boot of the car, it was weird he was asking because he knew full well that they was water in the trunk of the car.

"Before you go close to the car we should all do a head count" granny said, it is important to know how many people are here together, lets know how any survivals they are.

"1.. 2... 3.. 4" grace began head counting everyone.

"20 ma, we are 20" grace said.

So 5 people went with grandad back to Ida? Well at least we tired.

"Good you can go and get the water Nd the meal for us" granny instructed Joseph as he and Cynthia went to get us food from the trunk of the car.

"Danie"

"Daniella" grace called, I wasn't used to the new name so it was hard for me to know I was the one she was calling.

"Be careful, let no one suspect it's not hers" granny said to grace in a low tone as she looked around.

"You can come in" one of the Nigerian custom officers said to us after leaving us high and dry for some minutes.

"Thank you" we followed the woman as she directed us to a new space.

"Don't mention, this was order from above" he said as she continued walking, taking us to their base where they rest.

"Here" she too is into a large room, "you can stay here for now" use said as she opened the door.

"Finally" Martha said as she ran in an hopped on one of the bed that was prepared for us.

"So we can finally have a good night sleep? Ooh I am so happy" grace said as she followed her lead.

"Thank you" I appreciated her once more.

"Don't mention, I would show the others this room when they come around" the custom officer said as she left the room.

"Ooh let me rest my head a bit before his majesty comes" I said as I also got on one of the beds as I stretched my entire body.

"Go ahead, I would watch over you" granny said as I began to get comfortable on the bed, even though we were all hungry and tired, most of us wanted to sleep more than we wanted food.
