Chapter 6 - A little history

6th of june.

"Come with me princess, sorry Danie. For some reason I am finding it hard to remember, anyways there is something I want to tell you" adekunle said as he entered the room, no knocking nothing, but for some reason he kept a straight face.

"What?" I asked, what could it be? Was he also thinking what I was thinking? How could he? He didn't even know the details of the incident the way I and granny do.

"You should also come with us ma" he said to granny.

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go" did something strange happen?

"I would advise you cover yourself up to look unrecognisable at least, for your own safety" the prince said.

Aren't we safe here? The jukun's dare not come to Nigeria as the population here outnumbers them times three.

"What's wrong? Is everything okay?" I asked as I went to grab a veil from the closet to cover my hair and some part of my face.

"Let's go" granny said as she also did same with her veil.

"I want to ask you something ma" adekunle said as we walked out of the palace.

"Where are we heading to?" I asked immediately I noticed we were heading out, I saw a car right outside the palace waiting.

"Be patient" adekunle said as we walked up on the car, "get in" he instructed as we did just that, the door closing behind us.

"This is Emmanuel, he is my most trusted Aquitaine you can trust him with your lives. I promise he would protect it" adekunle Introduced the guy who was seated at the driver's seat to us.

"Back to my question, tell me about the history of Ida?" He asked blatantly.

"Well Ida was formed from the former Ofenya Kingdom, Ida, Ofenya, Ofu and Jukun were all one kingdom before." How comes I did not know that?

"What happened? What made them fall out?" Why is adekunle so invested in our history? These are things I don't even know myself and I doubt any citizen of Ida knew as well and if they did it would be the minority.

"100 years ago which isn't too far in history, there was a famine in the Ofenya Kingdom. The kingdom was already divided by tribes, which was the Ida tribe, the Anyingba tribe, Ofu tribe and Jukun tribe. The Ida tribe was best know for it's gold and natural resources while the jukun's were know for their agricultural benefits, the long lines of kings came from the Jukun tribe. During the famine the Ida were the one buying food for the entire kingdom, so they decided they want to be involved more in the politics of the kingdom which was obviously denied by the king at that time.

Together with their natural resources the Ida tribe formed alliance with all the other tribes as the fought the jukun's and gained their freedom from them, that was how Ida was formed, all the tribes decided to keep their names" that was a short history lesson and the information was passed effectively, I can't believe I knew nothing about this.

"The great Ofenya war as they call it, does that mean before the separation the people lived in different parts, like a Jukun could live in Ida?" Such a nice question from him.

"Yes, they were a lot of them. But most people returned back to their original tribe as they were ordered to return home by jukun's then king afraid of their execution, he traded citizens. So everyone returned back to where they belonged" granny seemed so knowledgeable about all this.

"So that means some of the jukun's could still have been in Ida when this happened and never returned back?" Where was he heading with all this questions?

"Well I wonder why anyone would risk their lives, but it is possible"

"Good, let's go in" the car parked in front of what looked like a military base, why did he bring us here?

"Wow, that was quick" I said as we came down and walked straight into the base.

"Your majesty what brings you here?"

"Sargent I am here on special visitation" adekunle said as he shook the hands of the sergeant, he seems to have a good interpersonal relationship with them.

"My prince"

"Leftanat Mathew" adekunle and a leftanat exchanged pleasantries as we walked into a hall, it looked like a bord room but it's in military base.

"This is my close friend Daniella and her grandmother, thought I should bring them here for the briefing" adekunle Introduced us as we sat down ready for what the leftanat had to say, finally he didn't call me princess by accident.

"Okay then" leftanat Mathew said, we were 7 in total in the bord room which made it feels a bit weird.

"I will go straight to the point then, I am leftanat Mathew and this is my colleague leftanat Adam we belong to the special devison of Information technology here in the military of Nigeria. I was noticing the radio signals from the country and I noticed something strange, someone was communicating with another person in Jukun thertory which is part of the Ofenya Kingdom as of yesterday, I found that very strange and I decided to look further into it as we Nigerians are banned from there and we've not had communication with anyone from there in decades, I decided to trace the phone signal and i found one 4th of June at the custom office the same side you guys came into Nigeria from.

Another signal went out yesterday and it was from the palace, and then I knew it had to be someone who came with you Daniella" leftanat Mathew said as he seats back down on his chair, that was a lot to digest to be honest.

"Sorry, you mean someone was contacting Jukun of all places? Why? What were they saying?" It doesn't make any sense, we were just... Shoot so there is really an imposter after all, yesterday me and granny were just speculating but now it seems like this have confirmed all our suspicions.

"I knew it, there was someone trading our information. But sir do you know what was sent?" Granny asked.

"Yes, it reads '20 final survivals +grand Queen and the princess, rest are just peasants that just no significance' that was all, although we stoped the server to prevent the message from being transmitted, I think we all know what it is" leftanat adam said.

"There is an imposter living in the palace with the royal family, that is not safe at all, move them out immediately before we find out who it is" Emmanuel chipped into the conversation.

"We've got that covered, I want to ask you, who do you think this could be? Any clues" Adekunle turned to me and granny.

"We had already ruled Joseph but also would he risk his life for me if he wasn't a true Ida soldier?"

"How did he risk his life for you?"
