God expressed his surprise and said, "I never expected that you, as mere mortals, could control your energy to such an extent. It's truly remarkable! I always thought only gods could achieve this level."
"God?" John murmured to himself, suddenly recalling his second purpose for coming to the Heavenly Temple.
He then asked God, "May I ask how the previous God of Earth passed on his position to you? What distinguishes gods from humans? From what I see, you don't seem much stronger than us."
God was taken aback that John showed interest in his position and his eyes lit up as he asked, "Mr. John, would you be willing to take over my position and become the new God of Earth?"
John immediately shook his head in refusal and said, "God, please don't joke around. I can't be a god; there might be darkness hidden within me!"
God shook his head and replied, "Mr. John, you are being too humble. As a god, I can see that while you may have some evil thoughts, they are harmless."
"These thoughts will not hinder your succession to godhood. Although you often belittle yourself, I can see that you have a strong conviction within you. I believe my eyes; you would be a perfect successor as a god."
John still shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, God. For me, the meaning of life lies in training hard to improve my strength and battling against powerful beings from various universes. I wouldn't want to spend my life here in the Heavenly Temple."
Seeing John's firm stance, God decided not to press further.
John then continued to ask, "God, you still haven't answered my previous question."
God regained his composure and explained to John: "The difference between gods and humans is not merely in their strength but because gods possess divine power."
"Divine power?" John felt a surge of excitement; he knew that although the gods on Earth were weak, they still possessed divine power.
So he requested: "Then God, may I feel the divine power within you?"
Although God was unsure of John's intentions, he nodded in agreement and extended his hand.
John quickly reached out his hand and placed it in God's.
Goku watched curiously from the side, unsure of what was happening between John and God.
God instructed John: "You can close your eyes and feel the presence of divine power with your heart. My divine power has been inherited from the previous God, so its quantity is extremely limited."
After saying this, both God and John stood silently without moving.
Goku was very curious about what John was doing but chose not to interrupt; instead, he sat quietly observing since John had mentioned divine power during their time in the Room of Spirit and Time.
At that moment, Mr. Popo suddenly rushed over but was stopped by Goku who whispered: "God is helping John feel divine power; let's not disturb them."
Mr. Popo nodded immediately and stood quietly by.
Suddenly, a soft golden light radiated from the hands held by God and John, illuminating the entire Heavenly Temple.
Goku and Mr. Popo felt as if God's presence was incredibly majestic—he seemed like the only being between heaven and earth.
With his eyes closed, John felt even deeper sensations; he not only sensed that God was unique in this world but also that divine power transmitted through John's hand filled him with an overwhelming sense of positivity.
John felt gentle gazes upon him—warm spring breezes—and all the beautiful qualities and things in existence such as kindness, beauty, nobility—everything good in the world seemed to be grasped within his hands.
However, this feeling did not last long; soon after it began to fade away.
John quickly opened his eyes as God apologized: "I'm sorry, Mr. John; there's only so much divine power within me. The cultivation of divine power has its conditions."
"You either need to be a god from birth without needing training—where divine power exists within you like energy—or..."
"When humans cultivate their energy strength during training while those born as gods increase their divine power strength."
"Or like me—I was originally human but inherited divine power from the previous God. This type of divine power is limited; I can only generate a small amount each day."
"For us post-natal gods or humans wanting to cultivate divine power requires compressing our internal energy to its limits before it can transform from ordinary energy into divine power—a process that is extremely difficult."
After listening to God's explanation, John understood that wanting to cultivate Ultra Instinct or Destruction Energy before obtaining divine power would indeed be very challenging for him.
However, he had remembered the feeling of divine power just now; once he reached a certain level of strength in the future, he planned to evolve his energy towards that direction.
At this moment, God spoke again: "By the way, different individuals express their divine powers differently. Divine power is merely an extremely pure form of energy; it isn't inherently sacred."
"The reason you sensed such extreme goodness and lightness within my divine power is due to my role as Earth's god; thus my divine power manifests in this way."
"However, besides benevolent gods like myself in this universe exist evil gods or demonic gods whose divine powers may embody pure malice. So if your strengths ever reach that level in the future—follow your heart's path and pursue it relentlessly."
God spoke these words simultaneously to both John and Goku. For some reason, he felt that these two individuals would achieve extraordinary accomplishments in their futures.
Both John and Goku nodded solemnly accepting God's advice; however, what they didn't realize was that they already knew which paths they intended to follow in their futures.
After finishing their conversation with God, Mr. Popo announced: "Mr. John! Mr. Goku! The grand feast you requested is ready! You can head to the dining hall now!"
"Really? Thank you so much Mr. Popo! I'm so hungry I could eat myself!" Goku exclaimed as he stood up eagerly shaking Mr. Popo's hand in gratitude.
After enjoying a sumptuous meal with excellent flavors, John and Goku bid farewell to Mr. Popo and God before leaving the Heavenly Temple.
