John asked Goku, "Goku, where are you planning to go later?"
Goku thought for a moment and replied, "I'm going to visit Master Roshi first. What about you, John?"
John said, "I'll go to Bulma's place to see if she has finished constructing the 50x gravity chamber."
"Besides that, I also want to ask her and her father to help build a spaceship."
"A spaceship?!" Goku exclaimed in surprise. "John, you want to go into space?!"
John nodded and replied, "Yes! Here on Earth, we are already the strongest beings; there are no opponents left for us. If we want to continue improving our strength, we need to find new challengers in space."
Goku's interest peaked; he had lost interest in adventures on Earth. Upon hearing John's plan, he immediately expressed his desire to join John on this space adventure.
John agreed without hesitation.
After saying goodbye to Master Karin, they each flew off—one towards Master Roshi's house and the other towards Bulma's home in West City.
As John and Goku's strengths increased, their flight speed using the Instant Transmission technique became incredibly fast. In no time, John arrived above Bulma's house and landed in her yard.
Bulma's mother was watering flowers in the yard when she saw John descending from the sky; her eyes immediately squinted with joy.
Dropping her watering can, Bulma's mother rushed over and linked her arm with John's muscular one.
With a beaming smile, she said, "John! It's been so long since I last saw you! Did you miss Auntie? How about going out on a date with me later?"
John chuckled helplessly and replied, "Auntie, please don't tease me."
"Oh dear! John, you're just not as fun as Yamcha," Bulma's mother complained.
John could only smile politely, not daring to say more.
Seeing John's lack of enthusiasm, Bulma's mother changed the subject and asked, "Are you here to see Bulma? She should be in her laboratory."
"I wonder what she's busy with all day; Yamcha hasn't been around for quite some time," she said as she walked toward the house.
Once Bulma's mother left, John breathed a sigh of relief and hurried towards Bulma's laboratory.
"Bulma! Are you in there?"
"Come in! The door isn't locked," came Bulma's voice from inside.
John pushed the door open and saw Bulma busy at her computer. Curiously, he asked, "Bulma, what are you working on?"
Bulma turned around upon seeing John and replied, "It's still that 50x gravity chamber you wanted. I'm coordinating with the robots for its construction."
Suddenly realizing something, Bulma exclaimed: "Wait a minute! Aren't you supposed to be at the Heavenly Temple training with God? Why are you back so soon after just two days?"
After saying this, she noticed that although it had only been two days since they last met, John seemed significantly changed—he appeared more mature.
"You..." Bulma hesitated but couldn't find the right words.
"Do I look older?" John asked playfully.
Bulma nodded vigorously.
John then explained the function of the Room of Spirit and Time located within the Heavenly Temple. This piqued Bulma's interest as she said: "That sounds like a fantastic research subject! When you go back to the Heavenly Temple next time, make sure to take me with you. I want to study its principles thoroughly!"
John nodded; he was somewhat dissatisfied that they could only stay for two days in the Room of Spirit and Time. If Bulma could modify it somehow, that would be great.
"By the way," Bulma continued as she sat down again at her computer, "what brings you here today? Don't tell me you just want to hang out; I know you too well—you're a training fanatic."
John felt a bit awkward laughing; it seemed since he had crossed over into the Dragon Ball world he had been preoccupied with training.
But it wasn't his choice—enemies appeared so frequently early on in Dragon Ball with such strength that if he didn't train hard enough he wouldn't survive; he couldn't rely solely on Goku for rescue!
Noticing John's discomfort, Bulma changed topics again and asked: "So tell me what ideas do you have that you want my help with?"
John replied: "Bulma! What do you think about us building a spaceship?"
"A spaceship?" Bulma was taken aback before asking: "Is Earth not enough for you? Are you planning to cause trouble on other planets?"
"Stop joking around; I'm serious," John insisted.
Seeing that John was earnest made Bulma stop teasing him. She said: "Technically speaking, we shouldn't have any issues. For example, we can use materials from our 50x gravity chamber for constructing the spaceship. Not only that but I'm also testing materials for a 100x gravity chamber which is almost ready."
"The only real challenge lies in creating a spaceship engine and energy source—that's what we need to consider. If only we had a sample spaceship to study!"
"A sample?" John thought for a moment before saying: "No problem! You can start your theoretical research now while I go out and find a spaceship sample."
"Can I borrow your Dragon Radar?" John asked.
"The Dragon Radar? Are you planning to use Shenron to obtain technology for building a spaceship?" Bulma's eyes lit up excitedly.
"That's a good idea! Once we summon Shenron I can ask him about it."
"My original plan was to ask Shenron where there might be spaceships on Earth so I could bring them back for your research."
Bulma nodded eagerly and took out the Dragon Radar from her drawer handing it over to John while urging: "Hurry up! Go collect those Dragon Balls!"
Thus began John's quest to gather Dragon Balls again—this would be his second time making wishes since arriving in the Dragon Ball world.
Before long, John had collected all seven Dragon Balls and summoned Shenron in Bulma's yard.
Seeing Shenron's massive form again filled both John and Bulma with nostalgia; their reunion was thanks to Shenron after all. This time they felt no fear but rather familiarity upon seeing him.
"Speak your wishes! No matter what they are, I can grant them," Shenron's authoritative voice interrupted their reminiscing.
"Can you teach me how to build an advanced spaceship?" Bulma immediately asked.
Shenron replied: "That is quite easy." With that statement, Shenron's eyes glowed bright red as an influx of knowledge about spaceship construction flooded into Bulma's mind.
After granting Bulma's wish, Shenron continued: "Your wishes were too simple; let me bestow upon you some additional gifts."
With that declaration, several objects resembling spaceships appeared above Bulma's yard as if transported by Shenron himself.
Shenron announced: "These are spaceships that have fallen onto Earth over the past few hundred years; consider them gifts from me."
After finishing his words, Shenron transformed back into Dragon Balls and soared high into the sky ready to scatter once more. Seizing his opportunity, John swiftly intercepted them before they could disperse.
