"Damn it, I almost forgot that this guy has inherited the stars' blessings," Star cursed inwardly.
"Why? Have you lost your boldness already? Aren't you just bragging now?" Liam mocked.
Lily sighed. "Is there really a need to make a fuss? For goodness' sake, stop being childish, both of you," she urged.
"Ah? Are you being serious? You should lecture him, not me! If it weren't for you, I would have..." Star revealed her anger, her hands resting on her hips.
Lily opened her mouth to respond when an unfamiliar voice chimed in.
"What's going on here?" a female voice suddenly echoed.
Everyone turned to the source of the voice and found a black-skinned woman. Her body shape was so perfect it made men drool as she moved. She was dressed in leaves that only covered her ample bosom and lower body; aside from that, every other area was exposed. She was almost perfect if not for the age lines woven into her appearance.
As she moved closer, her thick, unkempt green hair was blown by the wind. She locked her gaze on Lily's beautiful blue eyes and raised her brows slightly in surprise. "You! Female! Are you the one causing a disturbance in our tribe?" she commented.
Lily almost vomited at the sight of the woman but tried her best to resist the disgust. "Hello, my name is Angel," she greeted.
The woman frowned in confusion. "Angel? What does that mean?" she inquired.
"Oh... the name represents a fairy in heaven," Lily explained, pointing at the sky.
The woman looked up. "So you come from the sky? The sky above has tribes too?" she questioned.
"Err... I didn't mean I came from the sky; that's just a name," Lily replied awkwardly. "To even imagine a tribe in the sky, isn't that a paradise?" she thought.
The woman remained silent for a long time, staring at Lily. "Do you wish to enter our Peacock tribe?" she asked.
Lily nodded.
"What is up with this interview? Will you let us into your tribe or not? If not, we'll go to another tribe!" Star's annoyed voice rang out.
The woman's attention fixed on Star, and she was shocked at her appearance. "You..." She moved closer. "How did you get such beautiful skin?" she questioned, envy clear in her voice as she looked at her again. "And this dress—how... how did you do it? You are so beautiful!" she praised.
"Hmph!" Star tossed her hair back arrogantly and cast an accusatory glance at Lily, as if to say, "And there you are, hiding your appearance."
Lily shook her head. "You're inviting trouble with your show-off behavior," she commented.
Star ignored her.
"Stupid female," Liam muttered, earning a murderous glare from Star.
"Are you going to let us in or what?" Star demanded, looking back at the woman.
"Sure... sure," the woman replied immediately and led them all in.
As they walked deeper into the tribe, many peacock beastmen and their females began to emerge, quickly drawn to the exquisite beauty of Star.
"Look at that female! I've never seen anyone like her before! Which tribe does she belong to?"
"Ah! I've found a mate! I will propose to her!"
"Look at her skin; it's completely different from any other female—she's so beautiful!"
"See... look at her hair—it's very beautiful and looks so soft. I really want to touch it!"
"Where did the tribe chief find such a female? She truly has exquisite taste!"
"Look at those males! They must be her mates; they have all reached the highest level of strength!"
"Such a beautiful female surrounded by so many powerful males; she's a treasure!"
The loud chatter echoed around, clear and vibrant, and Star relished their envy. However, her enjoyment crumbled when she overheard them suggesting that Lily's husbands were her husbands. Her expression darkened immediately. "Are they blind or what? Do they see any mate marks on my body?" she thought, feeling frustrated.
Angus, aware of their murmurs, frowned, visibly annoyed. Without a second thought, he suddenly picked Lily up.
"Ah! What are you doing?" Lily whispered, surprised. "Put me down; I can walk!" she insisted.
"This absurdity among these peacocks has me matched with that ugly fellow," Angus replied tersely.
Star heard Angus's words and halted, pointing an accusatory finger at him. "You—"
Angus shot her a chilling glare.
Star shivered and managed a smile, turning her attention back to the woman leading them. "Let's continue," she suggested, but inwardly she was cursing Angus through gritted teeth.
Liam and the others immediately rushed to Angus, claiming Lily.
Lily sighed but said nothing more.
The males and females who were praising Star saw the sudden scene, and they were all stunned.
"This powerful male belongs to this female! What did they see in her? She's just too unsightly!"
"I think she must have done something to them; it's not like they are blind to follow such an embarrassing female."
"Really disgusting and cheap."
The insults grew louder and louder. Webby couldn't take it anymore, and the male peacock who had spoken last was suddenly suspended in the air by Webby's thick web.
"You don't deserve to live!" His eyes were cold as he raised his hand, ready to extract his heart, but he was immediately stopped by Lily.
"Stop it, Webby!" Lily shouted, halting Webby just in time.
Webby looked at Lily, his eyes filled with reluctance.
"Let him go; we are in their territory. We can't act all mighty. As long as we are still in their home, they have the final say," Lily advised him.
Webby hesitated for a brief moment before nodding and mercilessly releasing him, causing him to crash onto the ground.
Angus and Malik cast him a murderous glare; they both seemed to harbor hidden intentions.
Seeing one of them being taught a lesson, no one dared to make any comments or act arrogantly anymore.
The female who was leading them apologized to them and continued to guide them.
