The next day, Carl decided to try a different approach: communication drills. If they couldn't understand basic instructions, the chances of this alliance working were slim to none.
Carl lined up both groups, taking a deep breath before addressing them. "Today's training is all about communication. You need to follow my instructions and work as a team."
Jenna raised her hand again. "Can I just—"
"No, Jenna. No putting people in your space," Carl interrupted before she could finish.
Jenna lowered her hand, looking disappointed.
"Alright, let's start with a basic ambush drill," Carl continued. "When I give the signal, you'll spread out, use the environment, and—"
"I'm already sneaking!" Jenna whispered loudly, crouching low again and tiptoeing across the field.
Carl stared at her for a moment before turning back to the rest of the group. "Just… do your best to follow along."
As they began the exercise, Jenna's gang continued to misinterpret everything Carl said. One of them ran straight into a tree, another one got stuck in a trash can, and yet another was busy collecting random rocks.
Carl stood in the middle of the chaos, feeling his sanity slip away. "This isn't communication! This is madness!"
Jenna, however, was completely unbothered. "I think we're doing great! Look how quiet they are now."
In the distance, one of Jenna's zombies tripped over a fallen branch, rolling down a hill with a loud crash. Carl groaned. "Yeah. Great."
