Carl's growing realization that Jenna's gang was evolving into something formidable was met with an equally strange epiphany: Jenna herself wasn't changing. Not mentally, anyway.
As the gang began showing off their new skills, Carl couldn't help but observe Jenna's behavior. Despite her impressive spatial ability, she still had the same clueless look on her face whenever something important was being discussed.
"She's still... Jenna," Carl muttered to himself. "How is that possible?"
The gang was stronger, faster, and more aware of their surroundings, but Jenna? She was still getting distracted by shiny objects and hoarding things like a compulsive collector. Carl could hardly believe it.
"I don't think it's the mutation," he said to one of the zombies, who groaned in agreement. "I think... she's always been like this."
Jenna, blissfully unaware of Carl's realization, was busy stuffing an old bicycle into her spatial space. "Carl, look! I found a bike! We could use it... for... something!"
Carl sighed. "That's great, Jenna."
As the gang continued to grow stronger, Jenna remained as clumsy as ever. But, somehow, her ridiculous antics and bizarre logic still managed to work in their favor. Carl couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there was something about her unintentional chaos that made them stronger as a group.
