Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

Jessica's POV

Emma's effect was really a thing.

Gray once joked about how she had an aura that kinda punished people who didn't like her.

I didn't think it was real till that night, even though I hate to admit it.

I had lost both Chase and Rudd to her, indirectly.

I didn't like post nut clarity, and I'm sure there was more wrong with Chase than just that.

The next day at school was their showdown, which I really couldn't give a fuck about because I was nursing wounds of my own.

The day seemed to drag. My wounds hurt worse than they did the night before. Worse still, I got an infection from the previous night. The thought of Chase pouring alcohol into my vagina now began to irritate me, though it was a little too late.

Between all that, I knew I had to do something. I wasn't one to go down without a fight.

I hated Rudd, but he still hadn't fulfilled his end of the bargain, which was failing Emma. Results were to be out in about a month's time, so I expected her to face her hell then. Meanwhile, I got to doing stuff.

Doing stuff meant wrecking havoc, and to do that, I needed someone Emma knew and trusted.

I wished I had some other idea but Lily, unfortunately, I didn't.

I planned to meet Lily after her massive fallout with Emma, sad for me, they rode away together. But it didn't stop me from hitting up her home phone.

"Hey Lily." I said in a very chirpy voice. I was half expecting her to cut the call on me. Matter of fact, I wasn't expecting her to pick my calls at all.

"Can I help you?" Lily asked, she wasn't rude, but she did sound like she didn't have time for nonsense.

If I bungled that opportunity, there might not have been another. And I risked being the talk of her and Emma's unfortunate little gossips.

"I have something for you." I replied to her. I made it sound as pure and exciting as possible. From her lack of comment for thirty seconds, I knew she was probably seeing through me. "Come on girl. You can't tell me you don't want to get back at Chase, even if it's just a little. And Emma too." I added gently.

From the sounds she made, I heard her resolve breaking.

"What do you have in mind?" She asked me.

I rapped out my beautiful plan and all the whole, Lily listened intently.

I felt good about myself and even gave her more reason to be all the more eager to get justice for herself as Chase had been really unfair with her, and Emma too.

They were such an influential two, despite the fact that their relationship was somewhat unideal and somewhat secret.

When I had exhausted all the points I could use to see my idea to Lily, I waited for her response.

"So what do you think, babygirl?" I finally asked her.

It was one of the loudest silences I ever witnessed.

If she wasn't on board with me, it automatically meant that I had neffed myself.

But if she was, my plan was as good as done.

Lily cut the phone on me. Bold of her. The bitch I used to push around feeling too big.

I cast the thought aside as I had about two shoots that day.

With Chase absent, all I did was porn, and gamble.

I had an uncomfortable amount of sex toys in my room. I kinda barred everyone else from coming in, the day my little sister mistook it for a microphone and took it to school.

 "Hey." Gray texted me.

It's been awfully long since Gray talked to me too.

It just made me more determined to fuck Emma up. She literally took away every meaningful person in my squad.

 "Hey baby." I texted back.

"Don't be calling me that." He sent. "You know how Lily gets when she's jealous." He added.

"Come on, no one buys that. We know y'all split." I texted back to Gray.

He took a while to respond.

 "Yeah," He said finally.

"You miss her?" I asked, daring him to say something stupid about how she was the bane of his existence and he couldn't do without her.

"Yeah. Sometimes." He said back. I liked how he kept it brief. I wasn't ready to talk much about a bitch who suddenly felt too big to talk to me.

"You wanna say something?" I asked, remembering that it was he who texted first.

"Yeah." He said. I waited a while to hear him out, but he still didn't send any text and wasn't typing either.

"What is it?" I asked, curious.

"Are you okay?" He asked. "I mean it in the most friendly of ways." The frown on my face cleared. He really did care about me.

"Yeah baby." I replied, somewhat impressed with myself for having people who still cared about me even though it had been a while since we spoke.

"Are you sure?" He asked it was beginning to seem fishy. Gray was a mushy and emotional guy, but he was also quite straight to the point when he wanted to be.

I sensed that there was something he wanted to say, else, he wouldn't be pressing so hard.

"You wanna say something?" I asked.

"Not if you say you're okay." He replied immediately.

"What if I said I'm not?" I asked.

 "Then…" I hated the suspense.

"Just say whatever it is you wanna say." I was getting impatient. If things went according to my plan, I was supposed to be on cloud nine, high on my toys.

"It's just, there's been a lot of news floating around." He texted.

 "What is it?" I asked.

"Jessica, are you home?" He asked.

I was wondering how bad what he wanted to say could be for him to be so cautious and careful.

"Yes, goddamit. Say the fuckin thing and let me breath. My toys are waiting too." I replied to him.

He sent a laughing emojis, and hopefully, finally began to type what it really was.
