Emma's POV
I walked as steadily as I could, which was not steady at all.
They had already begun to make fun of me before I was even halfway.
Incensed at how much I was entertaining them, I stopped in the middle of the hall, drew a deep breath, fixed my eyes on Lily's bag which was on Blue Eyes' lap and walked straight towards it.
It helped until I snatched the bag from his lap and he snatched my hand.
I remember shamelessly confessing to Lily that his grip was surprisingly warm and soft. Once again, I would have loved to be held for longer, but I had a crying girl waiting for me in the bathroom.
"What do you want?" I asked him. My voice was failing me already too.
I wanted to smack myself for being such an idiot. I was not new to handsome boys, but this one just made me extra weak in the knees, sent extra butterflies flying in my belly.
"Seems like someone is too starstruck by your handsomeness." Jessica said, and planted a kiss on his cheek.
Both of them went into another fit of laughter, during which I tore my hand from him and walked away. But not before seeing how cute his dimples looked.
As I walked to the bathroom, I made a mental note to ask Lily to tell me all about their beef with her, so maybe I could reconcile us all and increase my chances of being with Him! There was something I could do, there definitely was.
Going back to class for the remaining half of the school day wasn't so exciting. Lily was moody and in her head, so I didn't get to enjoy her gossip with me about all the students and teachers.
I kept squeezing her hand from time to time, ensuring she was still with me as her gaze had wandered and she looked like she was not in the room.
Jessica and her crew did not take all the class with us, fortunately, so there was some respite.
It wasn't until school ended that I remembered that I didn't ask Mark if he had made preparations for me to get back home.
As soon as we stepped out, I had all my questions answered as my mom drove in one of Mark's cars to get me. Lily's chauffeur was waiting for her already, so we just said goodbye and departed.
"How was your first day, honey?" My mom asked, grinning from ear to ear.
Hee mood change had shocked me. Less than twelve hours ago, she was a crying mess, and now, so fast, she had gotten her shit together and was already up and riding. Poor Mike.
"It was alright." I answered just for the sake of it. I still felt we needed to have some discussions surrounding our new circumstances, discussion Ms which could not be held in Mark's, our, house. "Don't you think we should talk?" I asked her, broaching the subject first.
"About what, Honey?" She asked.
"What do you think?" I asked rudely. "About all these." I added.
"Well there doesn't seem to be much to talk about. You look like you're settling in just fine." She said,
She was actively trying to avoid anything that had to do with yesterday, or even our former home.
"Have you shifted the wedding date?" I changed the subject, soaring her this time. We sure were going to talk about it, but I was giving her time to heal.
"Yes." She replied in a tone lower than usual. "Mark says he wants it next week." I shot her a very glaring look.
"That can't be possible. Aunt Nelly wouldn't even be able to make it. It's too soon." I protested.
Something in me felt like Mark was spinning the whole situation in his favor, but I knew my mom wouldn't have wanted to hear that.
"Not if I told her today." She replied, not taking her eyes off the road.
"What's the rush about?" I asked her. I had been shaken out of my birthplace, and tossed into some high class city in less than twenty four hours, stuck in the same school with kids who were twenty times more boujee than I could ever be, and the icing on the cake was that my mom was getting married, and our only other family wouldn't be there.
"I wouldn't call it that." She said,
"Kidnap?" I asked again.
"Watch your tongue, young lady!" For the first time, she took her eyes off the road to look at her stupid errant daughter. I was used to being that.
"That's really what it seems like. You're about to throw your life, and that of your daughter, to a man you've known for barely a year. Right after your sneaky link died under very funny circumstances, I think it's quite funny." I replied to her, and huffed.
I was pissing mad. I had zero control over my life, and it was beginning to look like my mom didn't too. Mark was calling all the shots.
He had no right to tear us away from our family.
"If Aunt Nelly wouldn't be there, then I won't either." I said.
We had already gotten back to the gigantic palace I had to call my home, so the conversation was over.
Mark was coming out of the house to hug his 'bride', so I greeted him and walked past.
A rude step daughter is a small price to pay for a very willing and available single mom.
It was going to be dinner time soon, I wasn't looking forward to seeing Mark and my mom all lovey dovey. I couldn't help it, but I could imagine, which is what I liked to do anyways.
I used to spend an awful amount of time in my head. It was a better option than masturbating.
Carefully shutting Lily out of it so I do not offend her, I shamelessly imagine how hot Blue Eyes would look riding me to cloud nine. I imagined all the crazy positions we could be in and still lock eyes.
He was the whole essence of my imagination.
Little did I know I had spent over two hours playing with him in my head.
A knock woke me up from my dream world, pissed and tired, I dragged my half naked self to the door.
It was probably a maid, so I didn't bother with looking decent.
My hair was a horrible mess already anyways.
I opened the door ready to tell her that I would prefer to eat dinner in bed.
"Hello." Said the intruder. It wasn't a maid, it was Blue Eyes.
