Chapter 16 - Strange People - 2

Thanks to the passage of billions of years in the development of living beings, their spiritual core has also undergone an evolution over time: the ability to not only control the internal circuits of the body that connect to the outside, but also the ability to directly control the external circuits of an area as well as those of the body itself. If everything in this world is connected by spiritual roots, then following that same logic, it may become natural for them to manipulate an external root that is capable of altering the rest of the surrounding roots.

The Domain Field is something that not everyone can successfully develop, the same happens with individuals who are born with a "Singularity" in their core, which allows them various unique qualities (something like a unique and special ability) thanks to their origin that comes by default.

It takes too much talent and power to reach the point of sharing that altered state with the universal roots of the world and using a Domain Field to be able to materialize your power in it.

In the case of a singularity, it is different, since that state of alteration in the spiritual core is already present from birth. The Field of Mastery may look similar, but it is much more accessible, like a popular spell; but at the same time, not everyone can use a Field of Mastery and master it.

"So tell me, how did you get in here?" that princess asked, bringing me out of my thoughts and back to reality.

"Ah, well, I was just walking around and I saw a huge place that looked like a circus. When I entered and crossed a long hallway, I came to this strange place… after that I couldn't find the exit and that led me here."

"… It seems hard to believe that someone simply entered a Domain Field without the creator himself knowing about it." After saying that, she made a thoughtful expression and continued. "But what you say is true, my dad didn't tell me that someone would come here to visit me… so you are an intruder…"

"Now that you know my situation, I hope you can save me from being beheaded… I am innocent." When she heard my answer, she started laughing out loud.

That seems to have changed her mood.

"Come on, sit here with me!" She smiled, patting the ground beside her. "It's been a while since I had a visitor… and I'm feeling lonely."

Obediently following her words, I sat beside her and looked out at the scenery in front of us.

It was beautiful... but lonely...

"My name is Gina"

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Gina-sama, my name is Lucius."

"Just call me Gina, please."

After the brief introduction, I continued with what intrigued me. "What are you doing here alone?"

"I live here"

"In an S-rank Domain Field?" That's strange… I don't remember reading about something like that.

"Yes… the one living here is my spiritual circuits under a secret art of retention, since my real body has died."

Hey...?

She...

"What does Gina mean?"

"You're talking to my spirit." As she said that, her tail folded like a fan. Now that I look closely, she's a Beast Girl and her species is that of a Peacock. Her tail full of long feathers blossomed in a splendid and eye-catching manner, displaying various bright and outrageous colors.

She was beautiful but she had an air of loneliness and suffering about her, which no matter how hard she tried to hide it, could be seen in her eyes.

"I guess I'll tell you the story so you understand." After taking a breath, she continued. "My mother was someone with a frail and sickly body. According to what my father had told me, she died shortly after giving birth to me. Luckily for him, I had survived and he swore to protect me in her place."

Years had passed and everything seemed to be going well, until a rainy season illness struck the Beast Village where they lived. Over time, almost everyone gradually recovered, all except Gina... who had inherited her mother's frail body. Gina's father went mad in search of a cure for his weakened daughter, but could find no solution anywhere.

But he didn't give up and went to the Dragon Continent which was the closest. To his disappointment, he didn't find a cure, but he did find a spell that allowed an individual's spiritual circuits to be kept within a Domain Field. Gina's father was willing to do anything and if he didn't find a cure for her strange illness, then he would keep his daughter's spirit alive until the day he died.

"This world is made for me," he said with a smile.

The true story of a princess locked in a castle... but without the happy ending where the handsome prince comes to her rescue.

"That..." He wanted to say something, but he had no right to judge the actions of others.

No matter how you look at it, it's still a selfish act to hold on to things out of sentimentality. This girl can't rest in peace because of her father's love.

Every being is complicated in its own way... regardless of its species.

"Well, now then..." She said as she got up from the ground. "Let's play!"

"Play?"

"Yes!" Gina looked refreshed, and her energy was evident. She was ready to take advantage of every moment. "What do you want to play?"

"Huh? Oh well... I'll let you pick any game and then you tell me the rules, okay?"

"Yes! I think I'll choose..." Before she could finish those words, she suddenly stopped as if she had noticed something. "We're out of time..." Her shoulders slumped heavily.

After those words, she looked at me again and smiled as she said, "Come back to visit me soon, so we can play something fun."

After hearing those words, I felt two hands grab my shoulders and pull me back roughly.

Everything disappeared completely in a matter of seconds.

The fantasy world had disappeared and I now found myself in a real circus. I am now inside a large red cone-shaped awning.

I was forcibly removed from the Domain Field...

"How did you directly enter the Domain Field?" A tall man in majestic attire said, his imposing appearance like that of a great, manic orchestrator of a bizarre circus…

This man must be Gina's father.

Without wasting any time, I told him in detail what happened and apologized for any misunderstandings.

But I also emphasized my complete innocence.

He simply listened to me with a cold and distrustful face, but gradually his frown relaxed. At least he managed to listen to me without interrupting the process with indignation... that quality reminded me of his daughter Gina, who also patiently listened to my complaints.

"I understand…" Were his words. "I guess there's nothing that can be done if that's the case…" As he said that, his large tail covered in colorful feathers unfurled aggressively and splendidly in front of me. His gaze was analytical and his face disdainful.

That man looked imposing and majestic while his tail made him look huge and too striking.

"What is your name, boy?" he said.

"Lucius"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Lucius, disciple of the Ice Empress. My name is Garzhaus and this Fantastic Magic Circus is my domain. Feel at ease with the world within." Without saying anything after that, he began to walk with a delicate step, but with his chest high and his head held high. It was strange to see him, but that made him more pragmatic.

If Garzhaus believes that his way of walking and his voice, his demeanor, and his expressions will make him mysterious, then he has succeeded...

It's hard to tell if he's just acting or if he's always been like this.

Just as I was thinking that, I noticed a strange presence watching me from a distance... or rather, the various presences lurking in the shadows.

The first person who slowly walked towards me was an adorable little girl with a cute fluffy stuffed animal in her hands. She seemed reluctant, but there were murmurs behind the girl urging her to come in my direction.

Probably putting pressure on her...

That girl approached slowly without saying anything. And once we were considerably close, I raised my hand and greeted her cordially.

"Hello," I said with a smile.

She didn't respond, but she waved back at me while smiling gently.

But before I knew it, everything was upside down... or maybe it was just me who was upside down in the air.

"Huh?... Ah!?" I screamed in surprise.

I was being held by something invisible that was lifting me into the air, I was hanging by my right foot while floating.
