Chereads / The Boys: A New War / Chapter 3 - Meeting Homelander

Chapter 3 - Meeting Homelander

Another year had past and Alex was now 3 years old. During this time he absorbed knowledge on mathematics and science like a sponge. He could now be considered at a university level in the field of mechanics.

With his enhanced brain he could easily spend hours upon hours studying despite only a second passing in reality.

He was currently in an all white waiting room while Dr Vogelbaum was on the observation deck.

Soon the extrance room swung open to reveal a woman escorting a young boy with bright blonde hair and blue eyes around the same age as Alex.

The two boys eyed eachover with curiosity. Alex was interested in how he could use John while John was a little nervous to meet someone the same age as him.

"H-hello, m-my name is John," The young boy stuttered," What's yours?"

Alex stood silent for a moment before speaking," Alexander, you can call me Alex."

John was about to reply but Vogelbaum voice cut him off.

"I'm glad you both have gotten the chance to meet, you may be unaware but you two are actually brothers." The announcement didn't seem to faze Alex however John seemed absolutely stunned.

He had been locked inside a research facility since his birth and his only contact was with doctors from behind glass. To say he felt alone would be an understatement.

Alex looked at the tears forming on Johns face and decided to use this moment to build a connection. He walked up to the boy, opened his arms and wrapped him in his arms.

"B-brother?"John hadn't experienced this kind of affection before and didn't know how to react. Alex smiled at the reaction.

"We're not alone anymore John, we have eachover now." Alex lied through his teeth with fake sympathy.

Looking at the scene, Vogelbaum felt slightly proud. He felt slightly guilty for the way the boys were being raised so putting them together eased his conscience.

"That's enough boys, time is over." The female caretaker moved to pull the boys apart. She put her hand on Alexanders shoulder.

SLICE!

"Ahhh!"

A piercing scream could be heard echoing in the chamber as a hand flew through the air.

"You....you little bastard!" The woman screamed as she writhed on the floor clutching her now handless arm.

Alex had flattened his palm and used his hand like a sharp knife the moment she touched him.

"You should know your place bitch..."Alex spoke calmly as he released his hold on John and slowly walked over to the caretaker.

"ALEX, THATS ENOUGH!" Vogelbaum screamed in an attempt to save the woman.

However the boy didn't listen and instead reached for the woman's chest. His hands directly passed through her skin.

SQUELCH!

A silence descended in the room.

"Y-you!" Vogelbaum stuttered as he looked at the woman's heart that had been ripped out of her body.

Alex let it fall out of his hands and hit the floor. "Brother, do you know why I did that?"

He said as he turned to look back at John.

"I d-dont know." John looked slightly scared. Although he had hurt people on accident before, he had never done it on purpose. Alex knew he wasn't yet the monster he'd become in the future.

"It was because she was trying to take you away from me." Letting out a gentle smile as he spoke.

John felt the care in his words looked up to meet Alex's eyes as he let out a smile of his own," Then she got what she deserved!"

Vogelbaum listened to the conversation with horror. He finally realised the dire consequences of letting siblings who had never felt a shred of affection meet eachover. Worse still because these two would become the most powerful supperhumans on the planet.

"I'm glad you understand brother, however our time is short." As Alex said this the door to the room slammed open with several fully armed soldiers rushing through pointing their rifles at them.

"But their going to take you away." John said coldly as his eyes turned red and aimed at the soldiers.

Just before he could end their lives he was stopped by a small hand on his shoulder.

"Let them, we'll see eachover again," Alex watched Johns eyes return to normal,"I promise."

His words stopped as a soldier nervously reached out to grab him.

"You touch me, you die," Alex glared at the soldier who's hand flinched back," I'll leave on my own."

Glancing back at John one last time, Alex walked back to his room with several guards following behind with a safe distance.

The next day...

Alex was currently studying the human body in an attempt to figure out a way to combine flesh and technology.

'The main issue is precision and rejection. To combine tech with the human body requires operating on the nerves and brain, this could easily result in brain damage.'

Alex continued to ponder as the door to his room opened and a well dressed man walked in with a clipboard.

"Alex, how have you been recently?"Dr Carlisle said as he pulled out a chair to face the young boy.

"What do you think?"Irration could be heard as he continued to look at the book and ignore the psychologist.

"You killed someone yesterday," The Carlisle said calmly despite his fear. He had dealt with many supes and knew how dangerous they were. However Alex was only three years old,and this was his first time dealing with a child," Do you want to talk about how that made you feel, your probably still in shock after something so traumatic ."

Alex was momentarily startled and looked up to the doctor in appreciation ," Thank you for reminding me doctor," Alex had genuinely forgotten the incident after being buried in his books," So, will i be getting punished?"

Carlisle visibly grimaced at the clear disregard for the murder," No, none at all."

Carlisle stood up in disgust at Vought for raising such a monster and decided he would quit the job soon.

"Ohh...that's a relief." Alex said loud enough for Carlisle to hear before he left.

In the observation room...

"So...what's wrong with him." Stan Edgar Carlisle who had just entered. He heard about what happened from Vogelbaum and immediately came down to see the psychoanalysists results.

Carlisle noticed the lack of care in Stans words and his hatred for the company grew.

"Chronic psychopathy, it's very likely he has no guilt and remorse or even the concept of other people's wellbeing."

'Thats strange,' Edgar thought as he quickly replied with a confused look ," But you've seen the footage with his brother, he clearly showed a level of care."

Carlisle sighed and spoke,"It could have been genuine... However it's highly likely Alexander doesn't give a fuck about his brother...In my opinion it's impossible for him to care about anyone, let alone a brother he just met."

Stan ignored the vulgar language and smiled as he turned his head to look through the tinted glass. The young boy on the other side also looked back and made direct eye contact.

"He's perfect, the company will soon have a new heir." Images of Vought rising to power surfaced in Stans mind. He felt him and Alex were not so different, however the difference was Alex was a a powerful superhuman with an unrivalled intelligence.' Could their be a better chairman to run Vought?'
