Chapter 6
Following the will of the gods, Vard went to the mortal realm with the pearls in search of a suitable family for the pearls, soon a week passed by , then two weeks passed, weeks turned into months, months turned into years and now it's been hundred years, yet Vard still roamed the mortal realm and he still hasn't found the so called suitable family.
In a small inn, Vard sat on a stool drinking beer and listening to rumors about the realms, Vard figured out inn's where the best place to get most recent gist, he could her people talking about how much the seal had cracked in recent.
Have you heard people have been getting possessed by demons a lot lately. A man said talking to his friend.
My neighbor's wife got possessed and killed all their kids, I heard she almost killed him to. The man friend replied
Sigh, things are getting more rough, I'm sure if we didn't have a good king a lot of people would have died already. Another man said.
Have you guys heard, recently priestess prayed to the heavens to send an immortal. A man said.
Those are just bull shit everyone knows the gods doesn't interfere with the business of we humans except it's important . A man with big beer belly said.
But it's true this immortal descended to the realm a week ago, I saw her with my own eyes, she was so beautiful with black hair and green eyes, I felt like proposing to her if not for her cold demeanor. The beer belly man's friend said with a dreamy expression but his statement made Vard's ears to perk up.
Yeah I heard it too, it seems her name was Lepone or something. Another man said looking drunk.
Lepone? Did you just say Lepone. Vard couldn't help but ask.
Yeah immortal Lepone, she was so beautiful, I even saw her when she decended, her hair was floating in the air and... The man didn't get to finish his sentence before he heard a scoff from the beer bellied man.
Look at how his talking like he stood face to face with her. The beer bellied man said with a sneer.
I did. The drunk man protested.
I have to go find her. Vard thought as the stood up leaving the men to argue.
Hey, where are you going. The drunk man said, don't you want to hear how I saw her. The drunk man said.
No need. Vard replied.
Later that day.
In the business street of a remote village, one can see different people going to their different homes. The sun set behind the horizon gave the clouds a beautiful colour, the evening breeze blew, children ran to their parents while wishing their friends good night. Vard walked on the busy street thinking about what he heard in the inn.
Those guys said Lepone was in the mortal realm, why would Lepone come to this realm and this village of all places. Immortals hardly visites the mortal realm, except if their is a task assigned to them or the gods wishes to intervene in problems between the realms. Why would Lepone come to this realm, did she come for me?.Vard thought as he brought out a box from his bag swung over his shoulder, two pearls layed in it.
By any chance did Lepone come for the petals.... something isn't right and my instinct is never wrong. Vard said to himself.
Opening a pouch. Vard sighed. I don't have much money on me, all this years I roamed the human realm I had to do some odd job to earn money and most times when I run out of money I had to sleep in woods, sigh , I guess it's another day in the wood then.
