The guide's explanation sets up the UR rank as a legendary and almost mythical goal, reinforcing the idea that Ron has a long journey ahead, but with the potential for godlike abilities if he reaches this pinnacle.
Ron, excited about his growing power and potential, was eager to test himself with higher-ranked skills. "Then why waste time? Let's head to the 4th floor and find some skills and equipment," he said. Without hesitation, he opened the portal and stepped through.
The 4th floor wasn't a labyrinth like before but a sprawling forest. Knowing this, Ron activated his detection skill, aware that maintaining it would constantly drain his energy. He recalled the Guide mentioning the Orc Warrior boss and the goblin villages scattered throughout the floor, each ruled by a formidable goblin chief.
"This is a survival quest," the Guide explained. "You don't need to kill monsters anymore. Your objective is to find useful equipment, rare plants, and skill memories. You'll also need to survive in this forest for at least three days, so it's time to learn some survival skills."
Ron, always thinking ahead, asked, "Is there an area where monsters don't dare to go?"
The Guide was curious. "Why do you need to know that?"
"I think I've got enough stats for now. I'm more interested in finding rare plants, so I need to know a place where few venture," Ron replied.
The Guide pondered for a moment before answering. "Head north. But be careful—there are many dangerous plants there, including poisonous ones. The area is also blanketed in a toxic mist. You'd die before even finding a herb if you aren't prepared."
Ron smirked. "You can't gain anything without sacrifice." With that, he set off toward the North, determined to uncover the secrets hidden in the Misty Forest.
Upon reaching the mist-covered forest, Ron stopped breathing, relying on his Qi to maintain his blood flow and protect him from the poisonous air. Using his detection skill, he located a variety of poisonous spiders, rare herbs, and venomous plants. Quickly, he gathered the valuable herbs, but just as he did, a wave of killing intent washed over him.
"Get out of there! Find a safer spot!" the Guide warned urgently.
Out of nowhere, a giant spider appeared and launched its attack. Ron deflected the strikes, but the strain of maintaining his Qi circulation while defending himself made fighting difficult. Using his dash skill multiple times, he narrowly escaped the forest.
Once safe, Ron questioned the Guide. "Why is there such a massive spider on this floor?"
The Guide responded thoughtfully, "Haven't you noticed how quiet this forest is? No monsters roam freely here. That spider—it's not an ordinary creature. It's a mutated monster. Regular monsters don't just become mutations; something caused it to evolve, and now it's likely a hidden boss. Most players avoid this area and focus on surviving the three days by hunting goblins or fighting the Orc Warrior. But it seems the spider has been growing stronger by preying on goblins and even orcs."
Ron's eyes narrowed. "Is there a way to kill it?"
"Possibly," the Guide said. "If you manage to acquire a poison resistance skill, you stand a chance. But obtaining that skill won't be easy."
Ron clenched his fists, determination burning in his eyes. "I'm not backing down. If poison resistance is what I need, I know a way to get that."
