Chapter 13 - Guide

Ron followed the Guide's instructions carefully, making his way to the river that was filled with poisonous energy. Without hesitation, he began absorbing all the poison within the water. As he drew in the toxic energy, his body started to recover, regaining strength. Once he had restored his energy, he continued absorbing the remaining poison energy, storing it deep within his Dantian. Slowly, the once-toxic river became clear and pure again.

After successfully purifying the river, a message flashed in front of him:

Ding! "You have been rewarded for purifying the river.

Ding! You have acquired a healing potion."

Ron took a deep breath, feeling a sense of accomplishment, when the Guide suddenly spoke, "As I've told you before, there's always a reward for every task completed within the tower. By the way, how much gold did you collect from clearing the recent floors?"

Ron paused for a moment, realizing he hadn't paid attention to his rewards in a while. "I completely forgot about that," he admitted, sounding slightly embarrassed. "Since there hasn't been much use for gold lately, I didn't think about it. But it looks like I've accumulated 12,000 gold for clearing all the recent floors."

The Guide stayed quiet for a moment before Ron continued, "Also, I'm on the verge of a breakthrough. I can feel it coming soon. I think I'll need to find some tough enemies on the next floor to push myself further. But first…" he looked around at the now-clear river, "I could use a fresh bath. This place seems like the perfect spot."

Before Ron could act on his thought, the Guide interrupted quickly, "Hey, don't do that! Why don't you just use your personal bath to freshen up instead?"

Ron raised an eyebrow, confused by the urgency in her voice. "I don't understand why you're telling me not to. Is there something wrong with bathing here? Oh… wait," he paused, his curiosity piqued as a thought crossed his mind. "Are you a girl?"

The Guide replied bluntly, "Yeah, I'm a girl. So what?" Her tone was matter-of-fact, as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. "And now that I'm bound to your soul, I can't stray far from you."

Ron blinked in surprise, processing her words. Up until now, he had thought the Guide was nothing more than a talking book with a lot of knowledge about the tower.

The guide speaks softly, their voice carrying an ethereal quality that makes the words feel both distant and close. "Now is not the right time to tell you everything," they begin, their tone mysterious, yet comforting. "But soon, you will uncover the mysteries about me. There's something important you need to know—I'm not just your guide. I am a living soul, bound to this book. You might have questions..."

The guide pauses, as if reading your thoughts.

"Who am I? Why am I bound to this book? Why am I bound to you? Why did I do this? And how could I possibly know about your parents?"

The air feels heavy with the unspoken answers, but the guide's voice returns, gentle and assuring. "Don't worry. There's nothing to be afraid of. With the pace you're clearing the floors, you're going to meet them sooner than you think. Everything will make sense in time."

Ron, standing nearby, seems more determined than ever, though a hint of curiosity and confusion clouds his face. He turns to the guide, his voice hesitant but bold. "You... are you even human?" There's a pause, his cheeks flushing slightly as he adds, "I mean, are you going to be my soulmate in the future, or something like that?"
