She was still wrapped in the towel Liam had wrapped her in.

Sofia's gaze lifted, searching around the room and her eyes met Liam's.

He stood across the room, staring at her.

His expression unreadable, his eyes intense.

Sofia's heart skipped a beat.

How long had he been watching her?

Liam's silence unnerved her.

"You're awake," he stated, his voice low.

Sofia nodded, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes."

The room fell silent again.

Liam's gaze lingered on hers.

Sofia felt exposed, vulnerable.

She clutched the towel tighter.

Her cheeks burned as she tried to cover herself with the blanket, pulling it up to her chin.

Her face flushed, and her eyes darted away from Liam's intense gaze.

The towel, once secure, now felt precarious.

She clutched the blanket tighter, seeking comfort.

Liam's gaze never wavered.

"Troublemaker" he said, his voice low and husky.

"Yes?" she whispered, feeling ashamed of herself.

Liam's pause was palpable.

"Are you feeling better?"

Sofia nodded, still avoiding eye contact.

"Yes, thank you."

The silence stretched.

Sofia's heart pounded.

Liam's presence overwhelmed her.

She felt trapped. Suddenly, Liam moved.

He stepped closer.

Sofia's breath caught. What would he do?

Sofia's blush deepened as Liam exited the room.

She let out a shaky breath.

Relief mingled with embarrassment.

she stared at the clothes Liam has already selected and was well laying on the bed.

"Get dressed," she told herself.

Sofia hastily discarded the towel and blanket.

She grabbed her clothes and began dressing.

Her fingers trembled, as she buttoned her shirt.

Liam's words echoed.

"Troublemaker."

A smile crept onto her lips.Despite the mortification.

Sofia finished dressing.

In the study, he was going true some documents, his phone buzzed , he frowned and picked it up.

"What's up?" he answered.

James's crying voice burst through the line. "Help me! I'm in trouble; if you save me, I will love you forever."

Liam's face turned to disgust. "I don't need your fake love, so go straight to the point."

"I'm in the hospital right now," James said.

Liam's frown deepened. "What happened?"

"I don't even know how it happened," James explained. "I was driving home, and I saw your Emilia, you're new to the girl. She was walking down the road. As a cool handsome guy and good brother I am, I decided to give her a ride. As I drove and chatted calmly at a time, she screamed and grabbed the steering wheel and shouted to stop the car, but she won't let go of the steering wheel, and I tried to take control of the steering wheel, but the car hit a passing pedestrian."

Liam's face turned black, "Is Emilia okay?"

James glared at Liam while he couldn't see him true the phone. "Let me land first; I'm in serious trouble, and you're asking about that pretty face lady who even caused the accident. Who is she to you that you care so much about?"

Liam remained silent.

"The person we hit turned out to be Diana Parker, my sister-in-law's best friend," James continued. "Please help me; I know she'll kill me if she finds out."

"I thought Diana Parker left the country," Liam asked.

"Yes, maybe she just returned," James said, feeling sorry for himself. "And you sent her to the hospital on her return. You will still accept your punishment."

"Is she okay?" Liam asked.

"She got some injuries and a broken arm," James replied. "You know the little devil I know will not let you off the hook easily."

"Suit yourself and face your consequences," Liam said indifferently.

"Let no harm happen to Emilia," Liam warned.

James cried out, "You're heartless, Liam! After all the love we shared, saying you love me now, you abandon me in difficulty."

Liam's face turned black with disgust.

"James is funny, still talking nonsense in this situation he's in."

Liam cut off the phone.

James stared at his disconnected call and looked at Remy pitifully. "He said That sister-in-law won't let me off the hook easily, and he won't help; I should face the consequences."

Remy's expression remained unyielding. "You should have thought of that before getting involve with Emilia and Diana."

James's act as if his really scared. "What am I going to do?"

Remy shrugged. "Face the consequences."

James's face contorted in despair. "Liam will pay for this and you will pay for this."

Remy's warning glance halted James's next words.

Remy ignored him and continue having his drink.

James glared at him. you are so heartless like cold demon, but don't warry when I become heartless I will deal with you guys tenfold. he said pitifully.

Remy ignored him, is like your sister in-law has find out she's coming. he wispered taking a sip of his drink.

Jame's Sprint up from his sit and dodge behind Remy's back.

hahaha, stupid Remy murked.

james' look up but there is no sign of sofia, he felt embarrass and beat Remy up. everyone kept Loughing staring at this handsome guys.

In Sofia's room, she paced anxiously, phone pressed to her ear. "How did she have an accident?

I don't know if I can catch that bastard who dared to hit our best friend, I will tear him apart," Maureen said through the phone.

Sofia's voice trembled. "I will be in the hospital right away. My Diana hurt and injured... I will kill that person who hit her."

Maureen's tone turned grim. "We'll find out who did this, Sofia."

Sofia's anger boiled over. "I want to know who did this. I want them to pay for hurting my sweetie."

As Sofia rushed out of her room, Liam appeared in the doorway.

"little devil, what's happened?" Liam asked, his voice flat and emotionless.

Sofia's eyes blazed. "Diana's been in an accident. She's at the hospital."

Liam's expression remained unreadable. "I'll drive you."

At the hospital, Sofia and Liam rushed to Diana's room. Maureen waited outside, her face somber.

"What do we know?" Sofia asked.

Maureen shook her head. "Not much yet. The police are investigating."

Sofia's jaw clenched. "I want to see Diana."

As Sofia entered Diana's room, her eyes locked onto her friend's bruised face and broken hand.

Diana's angry expression softened as Sofia approached. "Sofia, I'm so glad you're here," Diana said, her voice warm.

Sofia smiled, tears welling up in her eyes. "Didi, how are you doing?" she asked, rushing to Diana's hospital bed.

Diana's face lit up with a beautiful smile. She was overjoyed to see her sweetheart after two long years apart.

The two friends shared a tender cheek kiss, their affection evident.

Liam watched from the doorway, his expression unreadable but you can smell jealousy.

Maureen entered the room, a look of concern on her face. "Diana, have the police spoken to you?"

Diana's smile faded. "Not yet. They said they'd come later to take my statement."

Sofia's jaw clenched. "We'll find who did this, Didi. I promise."

Diana's eyes locked onto Sofia's, gratitude shining in them.

"You didn't tell us you're returning to the country. If not for this accident, we wouldn't know," Maureen said, a hint of playful accusation in her voice.

Diana smiled apologetically. "I'm so sorry, sisters. I was preparing a surprise for you guys. I never knew my surprise would land me in the hospital."

Sofia raised an eyebrow. "When did you come back?"

"I came back just four days ago," Diana replied, hugging Sofia tightly. "I really miss you guys very much."

"I miss you too, baby girl," Sofia said, embracing her warmly.

Maureen pretended to be jealous. "Hey, what about me? Or do you guys not want me anymore?"

Sofia and Diana rolled their eyes. "Who said we didn't miss you?" Diana asked, smiling.

Maureen chuckled, satisfied.

Diana looked at her broken arm, anger building up in her heart. If not for this stupid accident, she would have taken her friends out by now.

Sofia saw the thought cross Diana's face. "When you get better, we'll all hang out," she said, patting her back.

Diana rested her head on Sofia's shoulder once more.

Maureen sat on a chair, eating fruit. "You didn't know who brought you to the hospital?" she asked.
