Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

"I did all this?"

"It's all me!"

"I'm Gotham's hero?"

"No, I should be Gotham's sinner!"

Batman looked lonely, his demeanor growing increasingly strange.

Chu Mo looked at him, his eyes filled with disgust.

"Kill me!"

Batman raised his head, his faith shattered. At this moment, he only wanted one thing: death.

"Kill you? No, Mr. Bruce Wayne. You should face this monster!"

Chu Mo's lips curled into a playful smile.

"Face it!"

Batman stared at the monstrous figure in the distance.

"Yes! I should face it!"

He turned and walked out of the Planet Building, driving off in the Batmobile.

"Wasn't that a little cruel?"

Clark's voice came from behind Chu Mo.

"Cruel?" Chu Mo turned sharply, his gaze piercing Clark's. "Was it not cruel when he killed you? When Lois and Nora died at his hands?"

Clark fell silent, unable to answer.

"Haha! You're all going to die! You're all going to die!"

Luthor's maniacal laughter echoed around them.

Chu Mo frowned.

~Bang!~

Luthor's body exploded in a mist of blood.

Chu Mo dusted his hands. "The only reason I brought him here was to break Batman's faith. Now that it's done, there's no need for him to live."

At that moment, Gotham City descended into chaos. Hundreds of armed helicopters hovered in the sky, their machine gunners unleashing bullets on Doomsday's colossal form.

~Bang, bang, bang!~

The bullets struck, sparking on impact but doing no damage.

Boom!

Doomsday leapt into the air and slammed his fists into a nearby airplane. A deafening explosion followed as the plane disintegrated.

Inside the headquarters, President watched the destruction with a pale face.

"Mr. President, I suggest we use a nuclear bomb," the Secretary of Defense said gravely.

President hesitated. Nuclear weapons were mankind's last resort. Using one now could spell disaster.

As he debated, a female officer gasped. "Look!" she exclaimed, pointing to the screen.

All eyes turned to the screen.

A Batmobile was speeding toward the monster.

"Batman! Batman!"

The room erupted in cheers. Just yesterday, Batman had single-handedly killed six Kryptonians in an awe-inspiring battle. To the people of Gotham, he was a symbol of hope.

"Go to a live feed!" President ordered. "Gotham needs to see its hero rise again."

The satellite feed went live, transmitting the Batmobile's charge to every screen.

"Batman!"

"I love you!"

The fans cheered wildly.

"With Batman here, the crisis will end!"

"He's our only hope!"

Batman, aware of the cameras on him, stared at the hulking figure of Doomsday. His heart ached with guilt.

'I created this monster, indirectly or not,' he thought bitterly.

Memories of his crusade against crime, of the lives he had touched and taken, flashed before his eyes. As the Dark Knight, he had always upheld justice. But now doubt was gnawing at him.

"Was I wrong all along?"

Looking at the controls of the Batmobile, Batman made a decision.

"Though I have made mistakes... I will die as a hero!"

He stepped on the accelerator.

Inside the Planet building, Clark clenched his fists.

"Why aren't we doing anything?" he demanded.

Chu Mo, his back to Clark, remained silent.

Lois and Nora watched the livestream, their faces somber.

"He's a hero again," Lois muttered as Batman charged at the monster.

"Hero? Not necessarily," Chu Mo said, his tone dismissive. "This is just a suicide mission. Maybe he doesn't realize how strong Doomsday really is."

Outside, the Batmobile's mounted cannons fired, the explosions creating a small mushroom cloud that momentarily caught Doomsday's attention.

~Roar!~

The monster pounded his chest and leaped at the vehicle.

"Kill him, Batman!"

"Kill him!"

The crowd watching the livestream chanted in unison, their faith in the Dark Knight unshakable.

But as Doomsday approached, the Batmobile veered sharply into the ruins of a nearby building.

"What's he doing?" someone shouted in confusion.

"It's Batman! It must be a tactical retreat," another replied.

The Batmobile maneuvered through the collapsing structure, Doomsday in hot pursuit. The massive creature's blows shattered walls, and the building teetered on the brink of collapse.

Suddenly, the Batmobile burst onto the roof, its engine roaring defiantly.

Doomsday glared at the vehicle, his eyes filled with fury.

"This is it," Batman whispered, pressing a black button beneath the steering wheel.

Instantly, the Batmobile reached maximum horsepower!

It roared straight for Doomsday's head.

"It's over," Batman whispered, closing his eyes.

"Roar!"

Doomsday opened his massive, bloody mouth as the Batmobile entered.

"Batman!"

"The Dark Knight!"

"What's he doing?"

The people watching the live broadcast stared in disbelief.

One of Gotham's smartest people had just driven right into the belly of the monster.

"Is he a fool?" President muttered, stunned.

"He rushed in, fired a shot, ran away and got eaten. What was the point of that?"

Viewers were equally stunned, unable to comprehend Batman's actions.

But then...

Boom!

A yellow glow flashed from Doomsday's chest.

Bang!

His chest erupted in a massive explosion. Bones shattered and pieces of flesh flew everywhere.

Doomsday staggered, instinctively clutching at the gaping hole in his chest.

His massive body swayed and collapsed to the ground.

"Dead?"

President's eyes widened in shock as he struggled to believe what he saw.

"Batman is a true hero," the Secretary of Defense declared, regret evident in his voice. "He sacrificed himself to save us!"

The people watching the broadcast fell silent. Moments ago they had scoffed at Batman's actions, but now they realized their mistake.

Such sacrifice. Such righteousness. This was the essence of a superhero.

Many burst into tears. Gotham had lost its Dark Knight.

"Alas!" President sighed deeply, sadness etched into his face.

"Is he really dead?" Clark asked nervously.

The explosion should have killed Doomsday, but he wasn't quite sure.

"No," Chu Mo said flatly.

His eyes gleamed as he studied the scene intently.

"Doomsday absorbed the blast. It's not dead - it's stronger!"

Clark's expression turned grim. "What do we do now?"

Chu Mo rolled his eyes at him. "So eager to save Earth?"

Clark met Chu Mo's gaze. "The Earth is my home."

This simple statement silenced Chu Mo.

"Fine. Do what you want," Chu Mo muttered, shrugging indifferently.

Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed through the ruins.

Doomsday stood up. The massive hole in his chest healed before their eyes, broken bones mending and flesh regenerating.

"It's not dead?" President's voice trembled.

Batman's sacrifice had failed. The monster was still alive - stronger than ever.

"What do we do now? Use the nuke?" the Secretary of Defense urged.

"Okay!" President finally relented. He had no choice but to agree.

"Mr. President, look!"

An aide pointed to the screen.

A figure descended from the sky - a woman in a leather skirt, shield in hand, crown on her head. She radiated strength and determination.

"Wonder Woman!"

"Superheroes in action!" President said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Diana faced the monstrous Doomsday. She felt insecure, but she steeled herself.

Flying high, she brought her silver bracelets together and unleashed a burst of golden energy.

Bang!

The explosion hit Doomsday's head, staggering him slightly.

But it wasn't enough. The monster took only a few steps back.

Diana's eyes narrowed in alarm.

"That was my last move," she thought grimly. "And it barely fazed him."

"Roar!"

Doomsday lunged at her, swinging his massive fist.

Diana raised her shield in time.

Bang!

The force sent her flying. Her body slammed into the ruins, pain coursing through her.

She pulled herself out of the rubble, fear flickering in her eyes.

"If it hits me like that again, I won't survive," she thought.

But Doomsday had no emotions, no hesitation. He lunged again, intent on finishing her.

Suddenly, a man in a red cape appeared.

"Superman!"

"Superman is here!"

Hope returned to the crowd.

"With no Kryptonite to weaken me, I am invincible!" Clark declared, flying toward Doomsday with clenched fists.

Boom!

The clash of their fists sent shockwaves through the battlefield.

But to everyone's horror, Superman was sent flying, skidding across the ground for dozens of miles.

"What's going on?" Clark muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.

Diana used the moment to step away from the monster and join Clark.

"The opponent is very strong," she admitted.

Doomsday roared and lunged at them.

Clark's eyes glowed red as he unleashed two heat beams.

Doomsday countered with his own beams, stronger and thicker.

Clark fought but couldn't stop them.

He dodged at the last second, realizing that the monster had far surpassed him in strength.

Back at the Daily Planet building, Lois and Nora were anxiously watching the battle.

Their eyes turned to Chu Mo.

"Why aren't you helping?" Lois asked with desperation in her voice.

Chu Mo remained silent, his gaze fixed on the battlefield.

"I will intervene," he thought. "But not now. The strongest Doomsday hasn't been born yet. I need him at his peak."

"Mr. President, we must use nuclear weapons," the Secretary of Defense insisted.

"Superman and Wonder Woman can't stop him. We have no choice!"

President stared down at the table, his expression conflicted. Finally, he pounded his fist.

"Launch the nuclear!"
