Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

"Did they really surrender?"

"The alien civilization really surrendered!"

"What a bunch of fools. They don't even know what they're up against!"

"Trying to invade Earth? They should take a good look in the mirror!"

"Bunch of idiots!"

The media rushed to report, capturing countless moments of an alien civilization surrendering, thrilling millions who tuned in.

They had expected an unstoppable force, but it was far less than they had imagined.

General Zod squinted under the flashing lights, visibly uncomfortable. President took the opportunity to make his move.

"Now that you've surrendered, everything becomes the property of Earth," he announced, his eyes gleaming. "Including your spaceship!"

That had been his goal all along. As Earth's highest official, he had to make the best of the situation.

If Earth could decipher the technology on that ship, it would mean revolutionary progress - perhaps even the ability to create mutants on a massive scale.

General Zod's lips curled into a smirk. He thought to himself, 'They want this hunk of metal? They haven't seen real technology yet.' Still, he kept his thoughts to himself. "Fine. Everything is yours."

President breathed a sigh of relief and tried to contain his excitement. He feared that if Zod resisted, things could escalate.

"Then let's escort them to Area 51," he instructed. "After decades of construction, it's about time the aliens moved in! Welcome to your new home!"

President's grin was full of smug satisfaction.

Zod and his followers didn't resist and followed the handcuffed soldiers.

Clark stood nearby, quietly watching. His expression darkened, his mind racing with questions.

'Why would Zod surrender so easily? There's definitely more to it than that.'

As Earth's second guardian, Clark was uneasy. Something felt wrong, but he was at a loss.

These were his people, his only remaining relatives from Krypton. Not that he had any personal connection to Zod or his men - they were strangers, after all.

But knowing that they were his last ties to Krypton made him feel strangely insecure.

"Did I make a mistake?" Clark muttered and jumped into the air, flying towards the sun. He needed some time alone to think.

Watching him fly away, Chu Mo sighed. "Stubborn guy. It's obvious that Zod and his crew didn't really surrender. They must have a hidden agenda. Probably to turn Earth into another Krypton."

He shrugged, confident that he could handle whatever Zod might try.

Chu Mo checked his watch. Time was running out and he wanted to take care of this before he left.

He called Nora over.

"Boss!" she greeted, swaying as she walked in.

Chu Mo raised an eyebrow. "Here for more milk-shake?" he joked.

Nora blushed. "Boss, don't tease me. I actually have important news: there's an auction this afternoon, and you've been invited."

"An auction?" Chu Mo asked curiously. Nora handed him the invitation, and Chu Mo noticed the name on the cover.

"Lex Luthor..."

Remembering Luthor's role in the movies from his past life, Chu Mo realized the significance of this event.

Luthor had used General Zod's body and his own twisted mind to create Doomsday, an almost unstoppable creature capable of absorbing nuclear energy.

"All right, I'll join you," Chu Mo decided. Luthor's tech empire was almost as powerful as the Wayne family's, especially with his hidden monster research projects.

As evening approached, a sleek Aston Martin pulled up to a tech company building in Gotham City.

All eyes turned to the entrance as Chu Mo stepped out, his arm linked to Nora, who was wearing an elegant backless dress.

They quickly became the center of attention.

From a private room, Bruce Wayne spotted Chu Mo and quickly turned away, a chill running down his spine.

The last encounter with Chu Mo had left a lingering shadow on him; he wasn't eager for a repeat.

Chu Mo was ushered into an exclusive VIP room, complete with a large screen, microphone, leather seats, and a selection of fine wines.

"Not bad. We should consider decorating the Planet Building like this," Chu Mo remarked.

In his own room, Bruce Wayne sighed with relief, grateful for the distance from Chu Mo. Luthor's event promised breakthroughs in technology and possibly superhuman abilities - something Wayne hoped to use to his advantage.

Meanwhile, in his control room, Luthor watched the screens with an evil grin. "It's time for the fun to begin," he whispered. "To the so-called guardians of Earth..."

The screen in Chu Mo's room lit up as Luthor addressed the audience.

"Welcome, everyone, to this exclusive auction! Let's get down to business and bring out our only auction item of the evening," he announced, the spotlight illuminating a pedestal in the center of the stage.

in the center of the stage.

"Introducing... Kryptonite!"
