But Luthor refused! He preferred to win through intelligence, enjoying the thrill of outwitting superheroes and playing them like pawns.
This way of hunting was his favorite. But now things seemed to be spinning out of control.
"Nora!" Chu Mo's tone was cold. "Tell me, how would you punish the man standing before you?"
Nora felt the anger in Chu Mo's voice. "Just killing him would be too easy. Only by stripping him of everything and making him despised by everyone would justice be served."
"Good!" Chu Mo agreed, his eyes narrowing. "Death is too merciful. Sometimes a life worse than death is the most painful punishment."
Chu Mo closed his eyes, and instantly, Luthor's information was changed on the Internet. The assets of his tech company were transferred away, and scandalous accusations flooded the media.
"Human trafficking in Southeast Asia!"
"Organizing the illegal drug trade!"
"Stealing from the elderly!"
"Cheating at the age of fifteen!"
"A wanted criminal in several countries!"
In seconds, the charges against Luthor were meticulously crafted, accompanied by incriminating videos. News headlines erupted with Luthor's scandals.
"The show's almost over," Chu Mo said as he stood up. He tapped lightly on the screen in front of him, causing a large hole to appear in the wall, revealing Luthor standing in the hall.
Luthor jumped, instinctively grabbing the kryptonite. He knew exactly who was standing in front of him.
From their rooms, the powerful elites watching the scene wore amused expressions.
"Looks like Luthor's in trouble," Bruce Wayne muttered. He knew from experience that Chu Mo was not one to forgive easily.
The kryptonite next to Luthor seemed to glow with a strange power. The elites watched eagerly, hoping to see if the kryptonite would actually work on Chu Mo.
Chu Mo began to walk out, with Nora at his side. Luthor, both terrified and excited, watched them approach.
"Nora, pay," Chu Mo ordered calmly.
Nora tossed a dollar bill at Luthor. "This stone is ours!" she declared proudly.
Luthor chuckled. "I don't think you understand, Mr. Chu. I don't know how you broke through the wall, but this is Kryptonite - your fatal weakness! How dare you get so close to it!"
"Is that so?" Chu Mo walked over to the kryptonite and placed his hand on it.
All the elites held their breath. Bruce Wayne's palms were sweaty and he muttered, "He's going to die!"
The military officials watching from their room felt a sense of dread. If Chu Mo died here, Luthor would face severe consequences.
Chu Mo met Luthor's eyes with a look of disdain. "You seem to be misunderstanding something."
"What?" Luthor asked instinctively.
"You think you can destroy me with this worthless stone?"
Chu Mo's gaze turned steely, and with a burst of heat vision, the kryptonite shattered into a cloud of dust. Chu Mo blew gently, scattering the green dust across the room.
The Elites watching the screen were stunned. Bruce Wayne shot up from his seat, and the director of Arkham Asylum stared, mouth agape. The military officials breathed a sigh of relief.
Luthor, meanwhile, was in complete shock. He rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he had just seen. "Impossible! The kryptonite should have worked!" He murmured, desperately trying to understand.
"Nora, let's go," Chu Mo said, ignoring Luthor as he walked out.
Luthor stared at Chu Mo's retreating figure, a mixture of fear and confusion in his mind. "Why didn't he kill me?"
As soon as Chu Mo left, the VIP rooms unlocked and communication was restored. Left alone, Luthor sat on the floor, despair consuming him.
Just then, several FBI agents entered the room.
"Mr. Luthor," an agent announced, "you are under arrest for drug trafficking, human trafficking, extortion, fraud..." The list of charges went on for more than fifteen minutes.
Luthor looked confused. "When did I commit so many crimes?"
At that moment, several company executives entered the room. "Luthor, the board of directors has unanimously decided to terminate your employment. All of your assets will now be seized."
Panic swept through Luthor. If he lost his company, he would have no way to defend himself. This was his worst nightmare - a fate orchestrated by Chu Mo.
"This is all Chu Mo's doing! I'm innocent!" he cried desperately.
"Tell it to the judge," one of the officers replied.
When Luthor tried to resist, the officers pulled out stun batons and shocked him. He fell to the floor, unconscious.
When he woke up, he found himself in the back of a police van, shackled at the wrists and ankles. He turned to the officer beside him. "How long will I be in jail?"
The officer looked at his record, thinking of the sheer number of charges against him. "Probably tens of thousands of years."
Luthor laughed bitterly. "Where are we going?"
The officer hesitated, fear flashing in his eyes. "Blackgate Penitentiary."
"No!" Luthor screamed, flailing wildly. Several officers held him down, shocking him again.
Blackgate was notorious, and he knew the horrors that awaited him there...
Back at the Planet Building, Chu Mo checked his watch.
"Midnight, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 8 seconds."
"Well, let's see what the next mission is."
