Perry was shocked at first, then he started to laugh!
"Acquisition?"
He felt like he had just heard a big joke! A smile formed at the corners of his mouth, showing a hint of mockery.
"You've got guts!" Perry said slowly. This young man had an intimidating presence, but he clearly didn't understand what the Daily Planet represented.
The Daily Planet was one of the symbols of Gotham City! It could even be said that the Daily Planet represented Gotham itself.
It covered countless superheroes! Behind many major world stories, there was always a trace of the Daily Planet.
"Batman, Freeze, the Invisible Man..."
The Daily Planet had survived countless battles and still stood strong. How? Not just because of its fearless journalists, but because of its financial power and operations! It was a multimedia powerhouse, an industry leader!
And this young man thought he could buy the Daily Planet with a single sentence?
"That's so ridiculous!" Perry sneered.
Chu Mo curled his lips and threw his phone on the table.
"What do you mean?" Perry didn't understand and looked at Chu Mo with a mocking expression.
"How much are you willing to pay for the Daily Planet?" Perr asked, still joking.
"What? Money?" Chu Mo looked at him.
"I'm not spending any money."
"Hahahaha!" Perry burst out laughing. "You're not going to spend money? Then what are you going to use?"
Perry glanced at Chu Mo. This man was too arrogant! He had insulted him all along, called him a fat pig, and now he was saying he wouldn't even spend money to buy the Daily Planet? Is he a mental patient?
"This guy's an idiot!" Perry thought, his face going cold.
"I suggest you watch the video on this phone before you jump to conclusions," Chu Mo said dismissively.
"Video on the phone?" Perry picked up the phone and played the video.
"Batman, I'm coming for you!" a man in a steel suit shouted loudly.
*Boom! A laser shot out from the man's hand, and a mountain in the distance instantly turned to dust.
Then a stunning woman appeared. "Wonder Woman, let's do threesome together!"
The camera turned to a man with blond hair. "Superman, Thor of Asgard challenges you to a fight!" he said as powerful arcs of electricity shot out from his body.
Perry watched the video with a grin on his face.
"Are you kidding? Any movie studio in Gotham could create something like this," he scoffed.
Chu Mo gave him a cold look. "Is it real or fake? You can have your experts check if the video has been edited."
Perry stared at Chu Mo for a moment. He had never heard of the superheroes in the video. But if it wasn't special effects... these people could destroy mountains with ease. If this video was real, then these people were superhumans, superheroes that had never been seen before.
If it was real, it would change everything!
Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, Superman, Cyborg!
Currently, only Batman and Superman were famous in this world. If the video was true, it meant that there were more hidden superhumans.
But it seemed too far-fetched. Almost impossible.
"Are you just trying to create hype?" Perry scoffed.
"Hype?" Chu Mo thought for a second. "There are many experts out there. You can have them check if the video has been tampered with."
"Haha!" Perry laughed again. This guy was really something.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Perry stood up and glared at Chu Mo.
"Fatty, Believe me or not, it's your choice. But if you don't believe me, I'll be happy to sell these videos to another newspaper," Chu Mo said confidently.
Perry's' face twitched in frustration. "You keep calling me a fat pig. Who do you think you are, mot***er!" Perry was furious, but there was something about Chu Mo's cold stare that made him uneasy.
"Fine, fine, fine!" Perry shouted. "Nora!"
A woman with black stockings, a curvy figure, and a striking look entered the room.
"Damn, this fat pig sure has a first-class staff!" Chu Mo thought, his throat tightening slightly.
"Nora, take the phone to the technical department. Have them check how much editing or special effects this video has," Perry instructed.
Nora took the phone and walked out of the room. Perry's' face was still tense.
"If the video is fake, you and Lois will be fired from the Daily Planet," he said coldly. Louise trembled, but Chu Mo nonchalantly pulled her onto his lap.
"No!" Lois blushed with embarrassment as she sat on Chu Mo's thigh.
Perry's' eyes burned with anger. "Who's the boss here, him or me?"
A few moments later.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
"Come in!" Perry called, his face still angry.
Nora came in, her expression uneasy.
"Boss, the video hasn't been altered in any way."
"What?" Perry couldn't believe it.
"It's real... it's actually real!"
What did that mean? It meant that there were unknown superheroes hiding in the shadows, ready to strike. They could be out to get Batman and Superman! And new heroes like Wonder Woman and the Flash!
"Front page news!" Perry thought. "This could create a media giant more powerful than the Daily Planet!"
He became serious and studied Chu Mo carefully. He couldn't figure this young man out.
"Name your price," Perry said, his tone grave.
"The Daily Planet," Chu Mo said calmly.
"Impossible! It's too unrealistic!" Perry turned to look out the window, his back to Chu Mo and Lois. This was his usual negotiating tactic - creating mystery as a bargaining chip.
"Sorry, but I want all the shares of the Daily Planet," Chu Mo said, standing up. He picked up the phone and started to walk out with Lois.
"Forty percent!" Perry's' hands shook.
Chu Mo smiled and opened the door.
"Sixty percent of the Daily Planet," Perry said, dropping his cigar on the floor.
"This Video, I can easily sell it to one of your competitors," Chu Mo replied, stepping out with Lois.
"You win," Perry muttered, turning to face Chu Mo.
Lois was shocked. "Chu Mo... he really became the owner of the Daily Planet?"
