Jehovah left the hospital, his robotic right arm feeling clunky and difficult to control. But despite the challenges, he managed to work as a street cleaner, pushing through the discomfort each day.
Meanwhile, Dr. Srinivasan arrived at the hospital and immediately inquired about Jehovah's whereabouts.
"He left, Doctor," the nurse informed him.
With a nod, Dr. Srinivasan turned and headed to his office. Once inside, he opened a concealed door and slipped into a hidden room where a young girl, about 16, was bound tightly. Her eyes burned with defiance as she glared at him.
"My boyfriend will come for me," she threatened, her voice unwavering. "He'll kill you."
Dr. Srinivasan smirked. "Oh, I'd love to see him try. But now, I've found a girl whose blood is almost a perfect match with yours. Once I inject her with your blood, I'll take her heart."
She struggled against her restraints, shouting, "No! Don't do that!"
"Then surrender your heart to me," Dr. Srinivasan said coldly, stepping closer. "I need that power to rule this world."
"In your dreams," she spat, hatred flashing in her eyes.
With a dark chuckle, Dr. Srinivasan leaned in. "Then watch closely, because I'll kill that girl in front of you. Be ready."
The woman's face paled. "What's her name?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Her name," Dr. Srinivasan replied with a twisted smile, "is Medusa."
In the morning, Amon's father returned home, his footsteps light as he entered the house. He called out with a smile, "Hey, my dear Mio and Amon!"
Amon looked up and, grinning, ran over to hug his father tightly. "Dad!"
His father embraced him warmly and then looked him over with a playful frown. "Why aren't you at school, Amon?"
Amon shrugged, "Three days of holiday, Dad."
His dad raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Three days, huh? What's the occasion?"
Mio chuckled, reaching out to gently pat her husband's arm. "It's okay, dear. Why are you interrogating him like this? This isn't a police station," she teased with a laugh.
His father held up his hands in surrender, chuckling. "Alright, alright! I'm going to take a bath, then let's all eat together. Deal?"
Amon grinned. "Deal, Dad!"
After his bath, they gathered around the dining table, a small but warm meal spread out before them. The smell of Mio's cooking filled the room, and everyone relaxed, the chatter easy and light.
"So," Mio started, looking across the table. "What brings you home so suddenly?"
His father shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. "Nothing in particular. I just wanted to see my family. Missed you two."
"How sweet," Mio replied, her smile soft and warm as she reached out to squeeze his hand.
"Dad," Amon said, wiping his mouth with a napkin, "can we go for a walk later this evening? Just us?"
His father nodded, a warm glint in his eyes. "Of course, Amon. I'd like that."
They finished their breakfast, with Mio and Amon's father exchanging small glances, happy to be together again. But Amon, though glad to have his father home, found his mind drifting. He felt safe here, yet the strange feelings from his recent experiences weighed on him. He wondered if his dad would notice the changes in him, or if he should tell him. But, for now, he decided to keep things light—just a simple walk later, a small escape from everything that had happened.
As Amon reached his room, exhaustion pulled him into a deep sleep. But in the quiet of his mind, a faint voice echoed, "Help me, Amon. Please, help me escape from Dr. Srinivasan..."
Amon, startled, asked, "Who are you?"
"My name is Rosy," the voice replied, tinged with desperation. "I am not from this planet."
Amon's curiosity piqued. "Why are you here?"
"When my boyfriend and I were battling a monstrous entity called Dark Devil, he threw me into an endless light. When I awoke, I found myself captured by that doctor."
"Why would the doctor do that to you?" Amon asked.
"He knows I have powers," Rosy answered. "He's trying to extract my pure blood."
Confused, Amon asked, "What's pure blood?"
"Pure blood allows me to regenerate quickly and produce large amounts of blood. Dr. Srinivasan has been trying to obtain it, but Earth's materials can't harm me directly. So, he picked up some of my blood that had spilled onto the sand and started experimenting—first with you, and now Medusa."
Amon's heart raced. "Medusa?"
"Yes. Her blood is nearly identical to mine—he's injecting her now. Hurry, Amon. You have to save her."
Amon jolted awake, heart pounding. Without hesitation, he bolted from his room. His mom called after him, "Where are you going, Amon?"
"To a friend's house, Mom," he replied hastily before disappearing down the street.
He arrived at Medusa's house, but the door was locked. Panicked, he dashed to the hospital where Dr. Srinivasan worked. There, he spotted Medusa walking out with her mother.
Out of breath, he rushed over, "Medusa, are you alright? What are you doing here?"
Medusa, surprised by his urgency, replied, "It's just a mild fever, Amon. I only needed an injection."
Her mother smiled. "Medusa, you're lucky to have a friend like Amon."
Medusa nodded, "Thanks, Mom. I'll walk with him for a bit. I'll be back later."
Her mother agreed, "Be careful, and watch her, Amon."
As they walked, Medusa noticed Amon's distress. "What's going on?"
"Medusa, did Dr. Srinivasan give you a red-colored injection?" Amon asked, glancing around nervously.
"Yes, but...why?"
"Have you noticed any strange side effects?" he pressed.
"No, nothing like that."
Amon whispered, "I'll explain later, but we can't use his real name out in public. He'll catch on to us. Let's call him... Dr. Sin."
Medusa gave a small nod. "Dr. Sin, got it. Let's go to your place, and you can tell me everything."
As they hurried on, Medusa suddenly stumbled, her knees giving out as she collapsed to the ground.
"Medusa!" Amon cried, kneeling beside her. Panic surged through him as he watched her, realizing that whatever Dr. Sin had done was already taking its toll.
