"You were never interested in these things, what's with the sudden uprising?"
The other high gods looked at the third for an answer, baffled by his claim. A god revered as part of the mighty gods, and the third strongest within the court.
It sent a cold shiver through the audience of gods that watched, and each kept to their possessions with a sigh of ignorance. The king of the underworld smirked at his brother's questioning and drifted his body aside.
"I was uninterested because it was boring. However, that child seems to have something unique. Striving for something as high as the Eldritch flame when it had only been attained by one is interesting."
"It's too intriguing to deserve my ignorance. Nevertheless, the souls which were meant for the underworld have been stolen by the outcasts. I can't keep watch while chaos heightens, brother.", Hades scoffed.
"Do what you may. I do not need the child anyway.", Zeus sighed.
With a smirk on his face, Hades assessed Thawne's body wholly. It was a bet he had never been interested in, and this was a first for the god of death.
Putting his hopes on a lowly human was something new to Hades, however, the tribulations of the demigods proved humans were molded in talent. As such, betting on a child who's desperately in need of power was surely intriguing.
"With this said, your meeting with the gods has been drawn to a close. A mark of the god's blessing shall be pressed upon your chest as a sign of you being chosen.", Zeus proclaimed.
Horrified by the words of the god of lightning, Thawne held an eerie smile on his face. He seemed uninterested in being a child of Hades nonetheless and sought a way to reverse it.
However, the words he prided himself on drew faint and dire. In reluctance, he stretched forth his arm, yet his head was drenched in sweat from uneasiness.
Thud!!
"Not…. Hades!!!"
Huff!! Huff!!
Turning around in worry, Woodlock glanced through his surroundings. It looked like a room stacked with armor and shields made of iron.
"How did I end up here? I was with the gods in a court or so, but everything blacked out just when… Ah, it must be a joke, right? It's surely a joke, there's no way I would be contracted with the god of death."
"Such a silly dream, hah. Seems the battle against a dreadmourn took a toll on my head. Even if it were real, I'm supposed to have a mark on my chest depicting the blessing."
Laughing mockingly, Thawne shrugged and pulled his injured body slowly from the bed. He brushed through his hair in a tense demeanor and opened up his upper attire to crosscheck.
"There's no way I would have a tattoo on my…. Chest?? Why's there a tattoo on my chest? Crazy bastards, they actually put me up with the god of death!!!", Woodlock cursed.
"Keep your tone down!"
"Huh, wait who was that?", Thawne froze.
He couldn't sense the presence of another within the room, and hearing the sudden voice startled him. Thawne drifted his body slowly to the corner, in a quest to catch the suspect.
A dog clad in black rose from beneath the bed, and swayed his body in pace. It calmly licked its paws and grinned at the arrogant child which stood before him.
Thawne looked at the dog in an awry manner and burst out in laughter. Clenching his head, he dragged his body towards the wall and leaned lazily.
"I am already growing mad, ha. It's a dog, why did I even think he could speak? Seems like it's time I commit my life to the ways of the priests before it takes control", Thawne shrugged.
"Who said I can't talk? Also, stop cursing at my lord with that filthy mouth of yours. I am Dusk, son of Cerberus, wielder of the gates of hell.", it gloated.
"Did you just talk?"
"Yes I did"
"So it means I am not mad, right?"
"No, I think so. But just refrain from cursing at my master, brat."
Thawne paused for a moment with an eerie smile and turned towards the door slowly. His gleaming eyes had turned cold, and with a calm mood, he twisted the nod sideways.
"What are you doing?"
"Just heading out."
"Oh alright, I will follow then."
Bang Bang!!!
"There's a talking dog inside my room!! A talking dog!! Save me, someone, anyone!! Please open the door!! Crazy bastards, they dropped a talking dog to harass me!!", Thawne screamed.
Tsk!!
Growling at Thawne, Dusk glared his fangs towards the boy. Woodlock shivered after seeing him approach, and with intensity, he banged the door loudly.
"Save me!!!"
Wham!! Baam!!
A few minutes later…
"Are you calm now?"
"….."
"I will take that as a yes. My master and lord of the underworld, Hades, has proclaimed that you will be his sole avatar in the world of the living."
"Although he never involved himself in the problems of the world, your enthusiasm and goals reached his stone heart. As such, he picked you as the successor to his blessing"
"The souls within the underworld are declining, and the rise of dreadmourns is still at hand. Multiplying their numbers through unknown means, their strength has grown terrific during the last few years."
"Seeing this, I was sent as a special envoy to attain the end of all things. In that preset, it would be your choice to become the Eldritch Flame. Such a task is too heavy to bear alone, that is why I am here to guide."
"Although my powers are greatly nullified within this space, killing more dreadmourns would return the lost souls to the underworld. You have been tasked with a mighty order from the gods, and in greatness bear it with all your will"
"Feeding on the flesh of dreadmourns would greatly increase my staggering power, so you just have to kill more. Since that is the only thing a knight must pleasure himself with."
"With that, my report has come to an end. I hope we would be a great alliance to the order of the world.", Dusk scoffed.
Thawne sat in thought and shrugged in disbelief. His teary eyes turned pale, and with a lost demeanor, he stared blankly at the black dog.
"What the absolute f***."
