(It's been 5 days since the massacre of the ruins. Everyone's being passive right now. The squads have broken, including Nikolai's. Aiden has been staying low again...He is aiming for the big shot)
The core rift of the world.
Aiden- Nikolai has his base there, he too is probably planning to take it down. I must act fast...
*Aiden walks through the forest, circling around Nikolai's base and the rift. He has fixed his gears. A stronger Armor with a stronger material named "Scorching Thonium"*
Aiden- This is...a unique rift. It's neither a cellar type, nor a fiction type (those which contain dragon type enemies. Castle theme)...neither It doesn't fit any of those categories.
*Aiden leaves the place. Trying to loot Nikolai's base is futile. They won't be compatible with Aiden's build*
Aiden- With my current strength I can't beat Nikolai. There's only one rift left... desert themed.
*Wearing his backpack, Aiden heads off to the rift, preparing to clear the rift. He takes bunch of resources with him in case of emergency...like the cellar incident. Once done, he stands in front of the rift... it's not open, neither is it closed*
Aiden- Is someone inside...? That's weird. The rift...is half closed. As if it's slowly opening. How will I enter-
*Aiden turns to see a bag left by the sandstone walls, of the outer rift*
Aiden- Someone's definitely here.
*Picking the bag up, he checks the belongings. A text and a key. Teleportation gem to be exact*
Aiden- Huh? This sort of gem exists? I am pretty sure that's an escape route but, They left it outside anyways.
*Burning the gem*
Aiden- I just need to enter the rift.
*Aiden uses it to teleport inside the rift. Upon entering, Aiden notices the entrance being closed from inside*
Aiden- That's weird. Must mean someone's here.
*Aiden starts advancing down the long stairs. The environment is...rather Egyptian. Reminds you of the old mummy movies. The stairway seems like it's an entrance to some sort of pyramid structure. Aiden pulls out his blade. His blade lights up the dimly lit areas around him in a blue glow*
Aiden- This rift isn't so high level. I wonder why this hasn't been cleared yet.
*In front of Aiden is a door filled with bright light. Entering it from the darkness blinds Aiden for a moment, only to realise, that the light was just an illusion. The area is lit in the same way. But....*
- What's this...? These bodies. They aren't killed very skillfully either. Barely fatal injuries.
Aiden- *looks around in an alerted behaviour*
- There's definitely someone clearing this. They came solo? Must be skilled then.
Aiden- *Aiden enters a new chamber. Upon entering he watches more bodies. Chamber upon chamber, bodies pile until suddenly, the massacre stops. No more bodies. But no more enemies either. All seems empty. Aiden hasn't gone through only one hall, which probably leads to the source*
- That's strange as hell. This chamber fully empty...there should be bodies at least. On top of it, most of the other bodies are rotten. Seems days old.
Aiden- *looking at the dark hallway*
- Something is off. I better be on my guard.
(Burning his mana boost gem, Aiden uses stealth to enter the hallway. Nothing seems off at first. It's a dark huge hall. As expected. Probably the source. As Aiden is about to enter the hall, someone comes lunging at Aiden's neck)
Aiden- I was ready.
*Aiden uses wind surge to push them away. But Aiden notices it's just a small boy. Holding his sword in poor condition. Shaking, and crying*
Aiden- Kid? I...Why are you here?
Kid- I'll kill you!! Don't come near me...!!
Aiden- I won't. I am here to kill the other monsters. Look I will drop my weapon.
*Aiden drops his weapon*
Aiden- See?
Kid- Don't play dumb! I know you are one of them! They can shapeshift!
Aiden- One of who? And shapeshift-
(A goblin with a scimitar jumps at the kid from the dark)
Aiden- Look out!
*Aiden dashes, taking the blow himself. Weak so doesn't deal much damage*
Kid- Mister...?
Aiden- Gimme the blade! Now!
Kid- Uhh yes!
*Grabbing the heavy blade, he throws it at Aiden. The blade immediately attaches to Aiden's left arm as he is blocking the attack with his right*
Aiden-
*Aiden extends his elbow backwards slashing the goblin. As the goblin loses balance, Aiden can take off his right arm. Equipping the blade on it, Aiden thrusts through the goblin*
- Kid, stay behind me
*The kid hides behind Aiden for protection*
Aiden- Good boy.
*Aiden says as he ruffles the hair of the boy. But in the dark Aiden notices a bunch goblins coming, their red eyes piercing through the dark*
The kid- I'm scared...they killed my brother!
Aiden- Brother? Oh it's all coming together now....
*Aiden stares at the goblins. The stare sends chills down even the monsters...the real beast has gotten furious*
Aiden- It's okay, Kid. What's your name?
The kid- N-Nolan....
Aiden- So Nolan...
*Aiden says as the goblins approach*
- Watch closely and learn. Because this big brother...
Can't accept defeat.
Aiden-
*Taking a stance Aiden charges up Tempest Blade, and releases bunch of slashes at the Goblins*
- The judgement is mine!
Aiden- *Aiden blends into the splitting winds, and slashes through all the marked goblins. But the number increases even more towards him*
- Fine then.
Aiden- *Aiden uses wind surge, and leaps in the air. He hovers above the horde, and comes crashing down among them. Immediately killing those in contact*
- The wind...shall obey my call!
Aiden- *Concentrating the accumulated wind surge on his right hand blade*
- Obliteration Flow!
Aiden- *Aiden strikes his blade, sending shockwaves along the direction. Anything it touches shatters in an instant. Aiden continues to slash through the goblins, but the numbera become overwhelming*
- Tsk...I think I know the reason.
Aiden- *The source hall is fueling the spawning of the goblins. Aiden takes the kid and rushes inside the hall*
- Nolan, with me.
(Upon entering the hall, Aiden is greeted with torch lights, as they light up on his entrance)
Aiden- If you are a true warrior, quit sending your minions and show yourself.
*Aiden shouted his words holding Nolan. He knew the source of the these rifts had somewhat of a warrior pride*
(From the darkness two red eyes glow as a deafening roar breaks through the darkness. A huge Taurus reveals itself)
Nolan- Holy cow...
Aiden- Literally.
Nolan- You can kill that thing?
Aiden- Wanna see me pull it off?
Nolan- Mm hmm!
(The horde of goblins enter the hall following them)
Nolan- Big bro!
Aiden- Get on me, and hold on tight.
*Aiden gives the kid a piggyback hold. When he gets up, Aiden straps him to himself with leather material manipulation*
Aiden- Be at ease and enjoy the show.
Taurus- Enough chit chat! You dare disrespect me like that! Baby sitting while challeng-
Aiden- We challenge someone to prove that we are better. I don't have to prove. I know I am better.
Taurus- Urghh!! I won't let an insect like you get the totem!
*Taurus leaps in the air smashing the ground to bits. Aiden simple jumps up avoiding the blow*
Aiden- Totem, you say?
*Aiden uses wind surge, and starts circling around Taurus. Once behind him, Taurus spins around with his smashing fist, knocking back Aiden. Blocking the strike, Aiden uses the knockback to jump on the wall. Using the force, he builds it up against the wall. Then he charges up his blade with wind surge and launches at him. Before Taurus can move, Aiden pierces through him*
Aiden- Close your eyes Nolan, you wouldn't wanna see this.
*Once Nolan closes his eyes, Aiden unleashes the wind surge from his blade struck inside Taurus, blowing him up from inside. But the Taurus' necklace glows up, reverting him back to normal*
Aiden(thinking)- Totem! Found it. I can't see any form Sadamantite on him. That must be the reward.
Aiden- Hold tight Nolan!
Nolan- Yes!
Aiden-
*Launching on Taurus's neck, he slashes. The wailing giant tries to knock him away from his neck*
Taurus- Ugh! Insignificant insect!
Aiden- Wind Surge- speed activate!
*The part which stays close to the necklace heals faster. Aiden starts consecutive slashes to outrun the healing but it's too much*
Aiden- I will....I will burst you before you can process it!!!
*Aiden leaps back into the air, levitating. The whole hall shaking in the sheer power of his wind. As clouds start enshrouding the skies even outside the rift. The survivors on the overworld, think t's about to storm, while inside the hall, Aiden chants*
Aiden- When I say the word, Wind strikes...
*Aiden aims his blade at Taurus. In the sheer air pressure, Taurus is pushed back, unable to come closer- He roars*
Aiden- When I order, the hurricane roars.
My words rule all the 5 winds.
O lord forgive my call...
For I shall bend The Vortex of End!
(Aiden uses his blade to strike at Taurus, piercing a hole through him. Striking his blade in, an all swallowing Vortex appears. It absorbs every atom of every being of the hall. Absorbing a huge amount of energy, The Vortex explodes in a huge area. Breaking through the rift barriers, spreading to the overworld, it makes a sound unfathomable to the ears, breaking every barrier it meets. Truly the Vortex of the end*
Nolan- That was awesome big brother!!
Aiden- *Slowly landing, Aiden recieves another 2 levels while taking the necklace, "The Charm of Vitality". He says kneeling down to the kid*
- And you my friend, are the best.
*The kid gives a heartwarming smile. Aiden gets hit with reality. Thinking of the impending doom of this small kid. He decides to check something*
Aiden- Listen...Big brother will have to leave now.
Nolan- Take me with you! I have no where to live...and...I like big brother!
Aiden- I...okay. Stick close with me then. And don't let go. No matter what.
Nolan- And thank you big brother! For saving me!
Aiden- *sighing*
You are so cute after all. Come on...we gotta move quick.
(Somewhere inside Aiden's heart, he remembered his own picture of childhood. Scared. Afraid. Afraid to trust. Afraid to die)
