Null pulse quickened as he stared into the eyes of the shadow who is a mirror image of Null. The cliff's cold air whipped around Null, yet his body felt hot, tense as if every nerve was burning.
The mirror image before him-stood motionless, it's amorphous void now taking on his exact likeness, every feature exactly perfect. With his lower half still on the ground, Null struggled to rise, his eyes locked on his shadowy counterpart, searching for any sign of movement.
Null slowly takes his steps back, but the shadow image smirked, a gesture that didn't belong to Null still felt too familiar, as though it had been buried deep inside him all along.
Null didn't even have the time to think about it, yet he was still looking at it. The image vanished before Null's eyes, leaving no trace behind. Confusion gripped him, and he barely had a moment to process what had happened. Suddenly, he felt an arm rest on his shoulder. Slowly, he turned his head, only to be met with a chilling sight-himself, the mirror image, staring back at him. Null's image spoke slowly but in a taunting voice to Null.
"Where are you trying to run?", Null's image glaring at Null and smirking again he asks "And why are you trying to run, do you think it's possible?".
The image withdrew its arm from Null's shoulder, stepping in front of him. "The Null I know is smart; he knows when to surrender and when to run." The image turns back facing Null staring its black eyes into Null's, "I am you Null, we are the same" The image taking its step forward facing Null's face with its own, Null felt very hard to breath, sweating all over his body.
"The image again asks Null with a soft voice that sent a shiver down his spine, "Didn't you always want to die?, I will make it happen today so, you don't have to feel this emptiness."
The words Null's image said were very simple yet so heavy, it weighed heavy in him and left him in a stunned silence. His breath caught in his throat-he couldn't respond to any answer to it. He instinctively takes his steps backwards-slowly, the sound of steps echoing all over his surroundings. The image didn't respond to the actions that Null did, he watched Null for some time.
Then, it again disappears in the air. The image's hand shot out suddenly grabbing Null's neck and lifts him up making him float above the ground, Null struggles, his body floating in the air-he finds hard to move his body even breath. Before Null could react further, he was hurled with terrifying force. His body flew through the air, the pressure he felt from the air was even worse, it was piercing his body through his skin. The world was spinning violently around him, until he slammed into the hill which was far away. He slammed with a sickening crunch. Pain erupted through his entire body as he crashed against the big rock. Blood sprayed from his mouth all over the ground making it paint red, and he felt his ribs shatter under the impact. Every breath was agony and painful for him. His mind was clouded by overwhelming pain, unable to form a single clear thought.
With his eyes half-closed, head bowed down, and back pressed against the unforgiving rock, Null's mind began to wander. His mind drifted into memories but still he couldn't find anything memorable in his memories. His voice a little louder than a whisper asking himself, "Is this how I am going to die?, Why did I even come here in the first place, What did I even hope for?" His body trembled from the pain, yet the overwhelming thought of his inevitable end weighed heavier than the injuries.
The mirror image took slow, deliberate steps forward, approaching with a menacing calm. Each footfall echoed in the silence until it stood directly in front of Null, its gaze cold and unyielding. Hearing the footsteps, Null barely lifts up his head and squinting his eyes, he sees the eyes of the image filled with despise and hatred, the same hatred which made his life difficult and horrible-he tried to run from it throughout his life, but still in the end, it followed him. He couldn't escape from its fate.
Null's clothes were all torn up revealing scars across his body from where blood had spilled. The cold air he felt at the beginning-he couldn't feel it anymore. Then, Null hears the Image speaking about something, he couldn't understand it clearly still he focused on hearing it.
"Null your wish is coming true, How do you feel?" He asks in a low and calm voice.
Null couldn't respond; he remained motionless from the pain making his body numb. Null's image again speaks this time Null could hear it clearly and properly, "Accept the reality Null, don't run from it. You know what I am talking about. You have always lived your life in a lie, running away from reality. You already know this world which was made isn't because you desired to live in this kind of world. This is the world which you Feared the most. The fear of being alone and Empty. You knew it from the beginning but still you couldn't accept it."
Null barely lifts his head trying to say something but his lips don't open. The image continuing his statements, "Even in the end you still haven't accepted it. Being left alone, feeling empty isn't a crime. You can know the nature of others just by looking at their eyes, can't you?, look at my eyes-your eyes. What can you see?, isn't it filled with emptiness and darkness."
The image was still attempting to speak, its voice an eerie murmur of half-formed words. But Null, overwhelmed by a surge of anger and despair, cut it off. "Shut up!" he shouted, his voice trembling with raw emotion.
Forgetting the searing pain that racked his body, Null forced himself to his feet, one hand pressed against the stone for support. His breaths came in ragged gasps.
Suddenly, a black line began to form on his right hand, glowing faintly against the darkness. The strip pulsed with an unfamiliar energy, growing brighter as Null clenched his fist, defying the agony that tore through him.
