Chapter 19 - Episode nineteen

Without hesitation, she closed the gap, kissing him passionately. Their lips moved together, igniting a fire that spread through her, consuming her thoughts and making everything else fade away. Felix's hands found her waist, pulling her closer as he deepened the kiss, pouring all his pent-up emotions into the moment.

But just as quickly as it began, she pulled away, leaving him breathless and craving more. "That's enough for today, she said with a teasing smile, her eyes glinting with mischief.

Felix, still reeling from the kiss, blinked in disbelief."I didn't clean your lips from that kiss yet," he replied, a smirk creeping onto his face as he referred to the mark Aaron had left on her."I think you might still be tasting him."

Faerie narrowed her eyes, amusement playing on her lips. "Is that jealousy I hear? Or just a little insecurity?" She leaned in slightly, enjoying the way he squirmed under her gaze. "You know, if you want a second helping, you might just have to earn it."

"Earn it?" Felix echoed, a mixture of excitement and challenge igniting in his chest. "I'l show you just how much I can earn it.

I don't back down from a challenge. He stepped forward, closing the distance again, his voice dropping to a husky whisper."And 1' make sure you remember this kiss, Faerie. Every time you look at him, you'll know who truly knows how to make you feel."

The intensity in his eyes sent a shiver down her spine, and for a moment, she was torn between wanting to push him away and wanting to pull him closer. "You're feeling bold today, aren't you?" she teased, the heat of their earlier kiss still lingering between them.

"Just being honest," he replied, a playful grin breaking through his intensity. "But I'm also competitive. You should know that by now."

"Then let the games begin," she said, a daring sparkle in her eye. "Just remember, Felix,Idon't play nice."

Before he could respond, Faerie took a step back, allowing the teasing tension to stretch just a little longer. She turned to leave, glancing back over her shoulder, her heart pounding with adrenaline and excitement.

"And good luck trying to erase Aaron's kiss from my lips," she shot back, a playful challenge hanging in the air between them.

Felix watched her go, a mix of admiration and frustration churning inside him. "Game on," he muttered to himself, determination flooding through his veins.

He had a feeling this was just the beginning of a much deeper game, one where he would do everything to prove himselfto her.

As Faerie walked away, a thrill of exhilaration coursed through her. She could feel Felix's eyes burning into her back, and she couldn't help but smile to herself.

This dance between them was getting dangerously intoxicating, but she relished every moment of the game. And deep down, she knew she wasn't just playing with Felix; she was playing with fire.

As Faerie made her way through the bustling hallways of Hera Academy, the buzz of whispered conversations followed her like a shadow. She could sense the eyes on her—the curious glances, the jealous stares, and the murmurs of disbelief. It was intoxicating and infuriating all at once. She thrived on the attention, knowing she was the center of a growing storm.

The kiss with Felix replayed in her mind, igniting a mix of exhilaration and confusion. She was enjoying this new game they were playing, but part of her felt the weight of the emotions swirling beneath the surface. This isn't love, she told herself. This is just a distraction. But the way Felix had kissed her—the desperation in his touch—left her questioning her own resolve.

Meanwhile, Felix stood rooted in place, his heart racing and mind spinning. He replayed the moment over and over in his head. The way she kissed him, the fire in her eyes, and the teasing challenge in her voice ignited something deep within him. He had never felt this way about anyone, and the possessiveness that bubbled up was unexpected and unsettling.

"What's wrong with me?" he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Why do I care so much? His thoughts drifted back to Aaron, and a familiar knot of jealousy twisted in his gut. She doesn't need him. She has me. But with every moment that passed, he feared he was losing her to the very person he despised.

As the day wore on, Faerie found herself retreating to the library, seeking solace among the stacks of books. She often found comfort in stories, but today, the words blurred before her eyes. The tension with Felix, the spark with Aaron, and the constant scrutiny from her peers swirled in her mind like a tempest.

"Why do I keep doing this to myself?" she muttered, shaking her head as she tried to focus on the pages. She could hear the whispers of her classmates outside the library, speculating about her relationships, and it only added to her frustration.

Just then, the door creaked open, and a shadow fell across her desk. She looked up to find Aaron standing there, a smirk on his face. "Fancy meeting you here," he said, his tone laced with playful arrogance.

"What do you want, Blackwood?" she replied, crossing her arms defensively. The last thing she needed was more drama today.

He leaned against the doorframe, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I just came to see how my favorite charity case was holding up after that little scene earlier." He took a step closer, lowering his voice. "You really know how to make an impression, don't you?"

"Is that what you think? That I'm trying to impress you?" Faerie shot back, refusing to let him get under her skin. "I don't need your approval."

"Maybe not," he said, his expression shifting to something more serious. "But you have my attention. And I have to admit, watching you stand up to Felix was pretty entertaining. He looked like he was about to cry."

"That's none of your business," she replied, unable to suppress the smile that tugged at her lips despite herself. "Why are you really here, Aaron?"

He straightened up, his smirk fading as he searched her eyes. "I'm here because I want to know what you're really about, Faerie. There's more to you than this façade you put on. I see it."

She raised an eyebrow, challenging him. "And what exactly do you see? Just a poor girl trying to survive in a world that doesn't want her?"

"Not just that," he said, his voice softening. "I see someone who's not afraid to take risks. Someone who's got fire. It's intriguing."

Faerie felt her breath catch at his words. Was this what she wanted? To be seen? To be understood? "Well, you should know I play for keeps," she warned, her voice low. "I won't be a pawn in anyone's game, especially not yours."

He stepped closer, the air between them thick with tension. "Who says I want to play games? Maybe I'm just interested in getting to know the real you."

Before she could respond, he leaned in, his face inches from hers. The intensity of his gaze sent her heart racing, a thrill of danger sparking between them. "What's it going to be, Faerie? Are you going to keep playing the nice little charity case, or are you going to embrace what you really want?"

The challenge hung in the air, electrifying and forbidden. Faerie felt the pull of temptation, caught between the thrill of Aaron's confidence and the chaos Felix brought to her life.

"I'm not a charity case," she murmured, her heart pounding. "But if you're trying to make me something I'm not, you'll be disappointed."

Aaron's smirk returned, a glint of admiration in his eyes. "I wouldn't dream of it. But I can't help but wonder… what would happen if you let your guard down just a little?"

As he stepped back, leaving her breathless, Faerie couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of a dangerous game—one that would challenge everything she thought she knew about herself and her choices.
