The next morning I woke up late, since I did a double shift as a salesperson at the store where I worked part-time.
I immediately knew it was going to be a bad day because that's what happens anytime I wake up late. I always had a bad day.
I tried to run the shower but no water came out. They must have cut off the water supply since we couldn't pay. I need to find more jobs to pay for the bills.
Our house was already falling apart with the old furniture and no one to look after it.
Dad and Lindsay were never home and I had to work. I can't start cleaning the house. I just wore my deodorant and got dressed in a long skirt, faded blue T-shirt and old sandals before grabbing my bag and homework and leaving the house.
"Thank you so much Prime. Sweetheart Asher" I looked at him in appreciation as I got into his car while I threw my bag to Asher who I saw was eating an unpeeled apple in the backseat. They had to leave school to come pick me up when I texted him although he said he was already on his way, strange.
"You look bad," Prime said back.
"I feel bad. I barely slept yesterday. I had to work double shift got extra money" I groaned.
"Well take a little nap before we get to school."
I rested back on the seat. Somehow I found a way to become friends with Prime and Asher.
After mom died during Lindsay and I sophomore year at highschool and Lindsay miraculously climbed up the popularity leaving me alone I just randomly met fatso Asher and hot anonymous guy, Prime.
And we've been friends since then.
Prime shook me awake when we got to school and I woke up and immediately grabbed my bag from Asher in the backseat.
"Have fun at your party tonight without us" Asher said jealousy.
"I'll bring you leftover weed" I joked.
"You've never even had weed," Asher said as I left them behind.
Okay, the first class today was chemistry. Great.
Wait, our chemistry teacher was sick and we were going to have a substitute, I just hope whoever they were, they weren't strict with lateness.
I felt a sort of peace within me as I entered school building, like something was calming my nerves and making me feel safe. A strange calming scent.
This might sound weird but I have a thing about smell. I could smell my friends whenever they were almost near me and the people that shopped at where I worked.
I noticed that everyone had a specific smell different from every other person. Strange.
But there was this one smell that was invading my senses at the moment, that I've never smelled before. I wanted to know who it was and luckily the trail leads right to my chemistry class.
Must be a new student, I thought.
I knocked eagerly on the door, anticipating a bit to know the new student.
"Come in"
I felt myself freeze. The voice. It sounded so beautiful and surreal and even calming.
I let myself in gently with uneasy steps.
"Someone is late for my first class" a man, looking barely older than I was, standing in front of the class titled his head.
The moment my eyes met his bright green eyes my world seemed to come to a stop. The image of a white wolf with green eyes flashed through my mind and another one with black fur and blue eyes jumped on the black one.
I blinked back at my imagination. I wasn't a fairytale girl and I surely don't believe in fantasies like wolves so where was this image coming from?
"I'm Charlie," the young chemistry teacher introduced.
He was very young. The same age with my older brother should be wherever he was now, my older brother disappeared two years ago.
His green eyes were bright and mesmerizing, like literally sparkling. His face seemed to have been sculptured very carefully because no part of it was imperfect.
His jaw is even more chiseled and profound that Mikes'.
Heck! Mike is nothing beside him. Charlie wore a white dress shirt with the tip buttons undone making hard muscles peep out. And black trousers.
He was a standing foot of rock hard muscles squeezing tightly in his clothes. His hair was white, crystal white. Almost angelic, I'd like to run my hand through it.
"Close your mouth bitch. A freaking dirty fly like yourself is going to fly into it" Courtney, one of Lindsay's minions yelled from adjacent the class.
I closed my mouth in embarrassment noticing a cluster of Lindsay, Courtney, Tiffany, Mike, Garrison and the other popular kids seated in a cluster.
"Take a seat Piper!" Charlie's warm voice dissolved into my ears.
I muttered a thank you before even realizing I didn't even tell Charlie my name. I glanced back at him as I made my way to my seat and I was shocked to find his green eyes fixed on me.
As I sat down his eyes never left my body. I wasn't a good sight to look at so what was he staring at. I sat down safely and he finally left me. I felt another pair of eyes on me. I looked around in confusion until I finally caught Lindsay's gaze.
This was the first time in a while that was eyes was meeting Lindsay, I stared into her deep blue eyes, the same color as mine and felt the twin connection.
When we were still close we could stare at each other and exchange thoughts but now all I was getting from her was anger. No words.
Why would Lindsay be angry at me?. I haven't done anything to her. We haven't even spoken in a long time. She narrowed her gaze in anger and looked away.
This was the first look and emotion I was getting from her in a long time but I couldn't fathom why she was angry at me.
