Charlie
"Too loud, you need to be taught a lesson" the girl grabbed a hand full of my mate's hair and yanked her head up.
Not on my watch.
Before her hand could land on my mate's face, I hurried over and grabbed it. I grabbed her little wrist and stopped her from hitting and humiliating my mate.
"Let her go!. Now!" I ordered while staring into the girl's eye. I would love to rip her apart for daring to touch my Luna.
"I have zero tolerance for bullying" I said with a tightened jaw, gritting my teeth together and trying to hold in my rage.
"Now, get back to your place and don't try to cause trouble with anyone else!"
The girl apologized and squirreled away. My mate's mouth was wide open as she watched me.
Just give me time little mate, I'll get you out of this hell. I promise. I said to myself as I glanced away from her.
I grabbed my things and left the class. All eyes were directed at me as I strolled across the hall. I was fuming with anger. I went back to the chemistry department office, I shared the office with five other teachers.
The older teacher that gave me weird glances in the morning was the only one around.
"Good day" I said to her before going to my seat.
I pulled out the chair and wheeled myself closer to the table, I wanted to text Harris and ask about the pack's wellbeing.
I saw a text from Prime first, it reads:
"Your mate will be going to a party tonight at Mike's place. Asher and I will drop her off but we can't pick her up so it's up to you"
He added a location link of Mike's house.
Prime is doing a great job for me. I smiled saving the location on my phone.
"What are you?"
I lifted my head from my phone to stare at the older lady who's seat was adjacent mine.
"What are you?" She asked again as my eyes met her brown eyes.
"I'm Mr Charlie, the new chemistry substitute" I said with a polite smile before returning to my phone.
"Oh stop that trash. You might have fooled everyone with your gorgeous looks but I'm not fooled. You smell like a wolf."
A smirk found it way to my lips, "So do you."
I've smelled her dormant wolf the moment I set my eyes on her. She had an inactive wolf. It was caused by either being enchanted by a witch or not shifting in years.
I'll take it that it was the latter, witches aren't common anymore, they've almost been wiped out.
Our eyes met again. She was an old woman but I had no ideas if she could be trusted or not.
"What brings an Alpha here then?" She asked with a solid face.
She could tell by my smell that I was Alpha. Any wolf from anywhere could differentiate an Alpha wolf from others..
"A lot."
"Blood?. To kill?" she grumbled.
"I assure you I'm not a threat. I come in peace to fulfill a quest. I have no intention of harming anyone."
Except anyone that harms my mate or me.
"I have my eyes on you" she picked up a note and left, leaving me in the peace I wanted. I watched her go until the slammed close the door.
I decided to call Harris instead, now that I was alone.
"Alpha" he said into the phone as he picked up.
"Everything good Harris?. Send me a full report of everything that had been happening."
"Yes Alpha, to you email."
"Thanks" I said.
"Don't hung up yet. Have you found her yet?" His voice came out stressed and bothered
"Yes I have"
"And?"
"Yes Harris. Prime did well, he was right, she is my mate"
"Are you sure?"
"More than anything" I grinned into the phone.
"Are you bringing her back soon?"
"Not so soon. I don't want to kidnap her. I have to find my connection with her and know why she hasn't shifted to her wolf in her life."
"Okay but you have to come back soon. We think there might be a witch."
My heart skipped a bit, "what?. A witch? How?."
"Whoever the witch was, it was at the border, the patrol wolf sniffed it and I went to check personally. It happened this morning. I got there but 8am and judging by the faint intensity of the smell, the wolf must have left about 5 hours ago."
I grew silent and thought for a while, witches were very rare to come across they were almost wiped out in the last war.
Also, witches were smart. They usually cover up their scent which would make it
Impossible to reach the.
I shook my head as the memory of the last war began to invade me senses. I shook off the bittersweet experience, it wasn't a happy memory to look back on.
"Increase the patrol wolves at the borders. For now, receive no guest into the lands and make sure no other packs knows that I'm gone. Keep my absence between only pack members" I ordered sternly.
"Yes Alpha."
"Is that all?."
"No. Alpha Damian."
"What's up with him?" I asked.
"His Luna died."
"Rose is dead?" I asked in shock. A genuine wave of sadness hit me, "what happened to her?."
"She was poisoned. He is extremely agitated, he's trying to find out which of the pack is responsible for her death."
Alpha Damian, he and I have a very long history together. A lot of dispute caused by our fight over Rose, now she was dead and he certainly thinks I'm responsible.
"And he thinks I'm involved."
"He certainly does and he's so angry. You need to be here when he comes here and if we don't allow him entry into the pack land he would think we were hiding something from him."
"I'll call you back to tell you when I've decided.
I hung up before sliding into deep thoughts, I need to hurry things up with my little make and take her back with him.
First, a ride from the party she was going to.
