Piper
My mouth widened in shock at the contents in the box.
I dropped the note to one side and fished through the box.
"Are you kidding me?" I said out loud.
Prime honked again but I completely ignored them as I began to pull out the content.
I pulled out the first pair of crispy white sneakers. I ran my hand over the new and flashy soles and comfortable looking shoes. Definitely designers.
I dropped the new sneakers gently to the side and continued my exploring.
My hands grazed soft cotton fabrics as I pulled them out of nylon bags.
There was three new lady sized T-shirts in colors black, white and blue. I admired the new cloths with both my eyes and hands before setting them aside.
Next, there were two pairs of jean pants.
"Oh my gosh" I shrieked in happiness.
Well I am a charity so I'm definitely accepting this. What charity organization would give out new freaking cloths to people and who signed me up for it?.
But I couldn't bother myself with searching for answers.
"We're getting late" Asher called from the car.
"Give me two minutes I have to change" I yelled. I quickly dumped everything inside the box and pulled in inside before yelling, "Just two more minutes."
"Oh geez!. Girls" I heard Asher groan before I slammed the door close.
Which do I wear today?.
I quickly stepped out of the old cloths I had worn before
I picked the blue T-shirt and pulled over my neck. I owned old bras that were originally my mom's, they didn't fit perfectly but they held my breast somehow.
I picked up one of jeans next, it had butterfly prints all over the front, from the waist to the ankle. I've seen girls in this at the store where I worked.
Ones or twice, rich people in fancy cloths turned up to get stuffs, I've admired this exact pair of pants a couple of times.
I pulled the sneakers on next. I was right, they were so comfortable, like feet massagers.
All I needed was an halo to complete this angelic look. I've never felt so comfortable and confident in my clothes.
New freaking clothes!.
"I'm coming" I yelled across as Prime honked again. I took the box and the cloths upstairs to my room and grabbed my backpack from the floor of the living room then rushed out to my friends.
Their eyes were wide open as I approached them in the car confidently.
"How do I look boys?" I asked blushing and opening the door for them to stare me.
They both grinned simultaneously and began to clap and cheer.
"Huuuuu!. Go piper" They cheered.
I felt even more happy as I sat beside Prime in the car and threw my bag to Asher who was holding a bag of chips at the back .
"Are you going to leave us now that you're popular?" Asher asked chewing on chips.
Prime started the engine and began to drive, "Seat belt!. But true Piper, you won't start ignoring us right?."
"Actually, I'm not popular" I said sadly, "Asher, could you check my backpack for my phone."
"Sure. Here you are. You've made friends at last night's party right?" He asked before passing me my phone.
"I didn't make any friends" I snapped getting pissed, "Don't you two have phones or check Instagram?" I asked.
Both of them stared at me cluelessly. I groaned at their ignorance.
"Well Lindsay humiliated me in front of everyone yesterday by throwing balloon paints on me with her friends and then throwing me inside the pool when she knew I couldn't swim. They recorded it and posted it" I explained, "a girl named Becky saved me."
"Why can't you swim?" Asher asked.
"Not the point" I snapped, "the point is, they've ruin my chances at popularity for life. Everyone was laughing."
"I'm so sorry something terrible happened to you" Prime apologized.
"Me too. Lindsay isn't fair to you" Asher said too.
"That's not the most terrible thing that happened. I also almost got attacked by coyotes before…"
They both gasped, "Coyotes?. Where?. How?."
"Are you okay?. Did they bite you?."
I said to them, "I'm fine I'm fine. They couldn't do nothing."
"Before what?. How did you escape them?" Asher asked gripping my hand from the back seat.
"Don't worry about it" I shoved his hands off.
Is it safe to tell them I got a ride from a teacher?, and how he sent coyotes off single handedly because apparently his dad was an hunter. What would they both think?. Well I'm not going to tell them anyways.
We drove quietly the rest of the way to school with only the sound of Asher munching on chips evident.
"Thanks guys" I said getting out.
But I didn't run ahead of them this time. I needed them to shield me as we went into school.
So far, we made it to my locker without anyone recognizing me as the girl from the party. But there were eyes on my jeans!. Oh yeah! I knew they were fire.
"I'm going to need you two for the rest of the day okay?" I said before opening my locker.
Something suddenly occurred to me as I unzipped my bag!. Mike's homework! Shit I forgot!.
Shit shit.
"Asher I need your back!" I yelped.
"For what?" He groaned.
"I have to write something. Quick it's urgent" I pleaded.
He bent down a little while Prime lazily rested on the locker beside me.
Thank goodness it wasn't a hard homework. I quickly solved the questions in a matter of minutes.
"Thank you Buddy" I said tapping Asher, "You're the best pretent table in the world."
"You owe a drink for that. I've lost a pound being in that position."
"You didn't lose nothing big guy" Prime said adjusting his glasses to stare at us.
I laughed, "Sure he did. Look at his…"
"Hey. My homework!" Someone tapped my shoulder frame behind.
Before I could turned around from my friends, I knew who it was. I've smelled him coming.
Mike.
"Hey Mike" I said with a grin.
"My homework" he simply said without giving me his usual smile that he always did when he came for his homework.
Before I could pass him his homework in my hand, Prime came to stand beside me protectively.
"Aren't you going to apologize to her for what happened at your party?" he asked.
Mike averted his gaze to him, "Who are you?."
"Just apologize to her" Prime snapped.
"I didn't invite her, she just showed up. And you didn't see me throwing paint balls at her. Lindsay did. And now I'm in trouble because there's red paint all mixed with the pool water."
"Just apologize" Prime said through his teeth. I've never see Prime get this angry or protective before.
Mike blinked rapidly at the time of Prime voice. When did Prime's voice get so thick.
"Not so tough without your dumb soccer guys, are you?. Apologize to her now!" Prime snapped making Mike flinch back a bit in shock.
I recognized that Mike was getting intimidated so I said, "Hm. There's no need for an apology. Prime let it go. Here's your homework. Bye" I shoved the book on Mike's hands.
Mike glared at Prime before backing off.
Prime glanced at me in disappointment.
"It's not Mike's fault" I said before shoving him playfully, "I kinda lied about being invited."
"He stills owes you an apology, it was his party he could have stopped them. He didn't even say thank you for you assignment. My back still hurts. He's just using you Piper, " Asher complained.
"Guys let's drop it" I said slamming my locker shut. Wait this isn't right, instead of the usual 'Vote for Lindsay Cameron' sticker attached to it.
There was a different sticker on my locker, infact there was different stickers everywhere. I was just noticing
'VOTE FOR BECKY' was now everywhere replacing all of Lindsay's stickers. What's going on?.
