I wore the cheap long green dress I was able to afford. It was the cutest thing I could get in my budget and I took it since I didn't have any dresses party worthy at home and all my clothes were pretty old.
I really wanted to appear well so maybe Mike might start to like me. The dress reached my ankle, it was a free gown with short sleeves, plain and very simple. No added design.
I snuck up to Lindsay's old room to search for makeup since I didn't have money.
Fortunately for me, I found an old red lip gloss, a mascara I think and come other stuffs that I don't even know. We didn't have Internet at home so I couldn't reach google for makeup tutorials.
I just applied the very little makeup that I could on my face. When I glanced at the mirror I realized I wasn't really that bad. I just need more confidence.
"Okay ready!" I put my feet in my best sneakers and carried a little black purse I saw in Lindsay's room that held my phone and an handkerchief.
Well I'm not hot or pretty but I'm adorable, that's for sure. I knew I wasn't ugly.
Mike's house was pretty far from mine. He lived in an entirely new neighborhood, a rich people estate with fancy lawn and a yard.
Lindsay had taken Mom's car before she left, dad's car was no where to be found, buses don't reach that side, cabs are too expensive, I didn't exactly have many options.
As I strolled down the road, I decided on taking the bus at the nearest station and then trekking down the rest to Mike's house.
I jumped into the air as a car honk startled me, "Need a ride?."
"Prime" I called in relief, "What are you doing here?."
"A little birdie told me you would need a ride" his husky voice played out.
"I'm the little birdie" Asher waved from the back seat.
I laughed as I got into the car. Seriously these guys were God sent. I couldn't deny. If Prime actually got out of his glasses and joined the soccer team, he would certainly be popular. He's hot. I always wished that my black hair was as dark as his. His hair was long in a dark knight kind of way.
Asher wasn't bad either. Even though he eats a lots, he was just chubby and still fit. He was huge in a wrestler build was with his brown hair in a wolf cut.
"And you promised us left over weed" Asher pulled his head between me and Prime from the backseat where he sat to say that.
"Since you're going alone, I might suggest you don't get wasted. Who's gonna take you back home?. Who's gonna stop you from doing anything stupid. And I don't trust those soccer guys" Prime said seriously.
"Okay dad" I laughed, "By the way, you know you could be a soccer guy if you try out. It would be fun and you and fatty won't be apart of the loser population like me."
"But we like being losers with you" Asher tapped my shoulder lovely and I slapped his hands off laughing.
"Popularity is not my hit, thank you. I prefer to focus on things that actually matter in the long run. Things that's sure to benefit my future."
That make sense. But I scoffed. I wanted to be popular and known like my sister. I'd do anything to date Mike and be the girl every one is jealous of.
There was silence the rest of the way, except when Asher opened another snack bag and chewed loudly.
"Here!" As Prime pulled over at Mike's house, the loud music coming from there was no joke. The door was closed probably because of neighbors but it could still blow off your eardums.
"You sure you don't need backup?" Asher shouted before I could hear him.
I shouted back, "No. Thanks but I'll be fine."
I got down, waved at them and ran slightly down the lawn and stopped in front of the door. I looked back at my friends and waved again before they gave me thumbs up and drove off.
Okay, do I knock or just go in.
I barged in almost slamming the door on someone.
"Sorry" I apologize but the boy was so drunk he only laughed and ran off.
What am I supposed to do now. I closed the door feeling self conscious. From the distance I could see, I seem to be the only one who was wearing a dress this long.
You could see all the other girls boobs and asses in revealing and tight clothes. Gosh I should have worn a belt.
"Hey nun!. You missed your way, are you going to church or something?" A girl holding a red paper cup said to me.
The alcohol on her breath has me squeezing my nose, her skin was tanned properly, she wore a short strapless blue dress that would probably be more expensive than anything with the glittering sequels on it.
"Are you snow-white?. Why are you so pale?" Another girl came to stand in front of me with an entire bottle of vodka? Or wine?. I don't know, I've never had alcohol.
Now three girls were standing in front of me, cornering me to the door..
"Who invited you?" The third asked.
I was getting suffocated with the sound of music blasting my ears and the mixture of sweat, weed and alcohol filling my nose.
"Mike did. I'm his student tutor. And I know Lindsay personally" I said boldly over the music.
"You're a student?. I thought you're the waitress giving everyone a refill. I need a refill. Get me one?" She pointed her cup towards me and eyeing me from head to toe.
"Sure. I wanted to get a drink anyways!" I took the cup from her grip as she and the other two burst into laughter.
I walked away hearing them say, "Such a faker!. Like Lindsay would know a low budget nun in mummy dress."
I tried to think of a comeback in head and kept it like I always do whenever a girl ran into me but this time my brain was blank.
I slapped my way through sweaty bodies, they danced wildly almost slapping me with the movement of their arms, the heat was disturbing and making my hair itchy.
Oh no!. Lindsay and her group were at the drink table. It was too late to hide, I had just pushed through the last sweaty body to fall inline with Courtney's sight.
"Who invited her?"
Their voices fitted so perfectly with the loud music that you could hear everything they said. They must have been to many parties to get accustomed to the loudness, but not me, I had to shout to speak to them.
