The cold night air stung their skin as Scott and Emma walked through the quiet streets of Meteor City. Their breaths puffed out in little white clouds before fading away. Both of them had their hands buried deep in their pockets, trying to fight off the biting chill, though it didn't seem to help much.
"Man…"
Emma hunched her shoulders.
"Yunno, I really wish I'd grabbed a coat or something. This is brutal."
Scott nodded as his lips twitched into a faint smirk.
"Yeah. Feels like the city's trying to freeze us solid."
Emma blew into her hands and rubbed them together briefly before tucking them back into her pockets.
"Wouldn't be surprised if it succeeded. Meteor City's like that—hostile, dangerous, unforgiving… basically a real-life boss fight."
Scott let out a quiet chuckle but didn't answer right away.
His eyes drifted over the dark streets, where dim neon signs from old, run-down shops flickered.
