Chapter 4 - Ch 4: Familiar Face

The Hunting Queen was a huge Ant-like creature that towered above the party. It quickly raised its pincer to attack the party.

Camelia had her staff in her hand to stop that spell, but the warrior had another idea about what to do.

"Get out of the way! Don't worry! I will protect an amnesic patient like you. And before you ask, no, it is not because I fell for you or anything! Don't even think that I like you any more than I do.

Because I don't…ughhh."

The warrior was pushed back because of the sudden weight, but he held his ground with his skills.

Camelia shook her head as she tried to put her thoughts back into action. The sudden shove had made her feel dizzy.

Usually, it would not have been a big deal, but there was a dis-harmonious disconnect between Camelia's head and her body. That caused her to stagger and almost fall when she was shoved.

"Warrior bro, are you alright? I will quickly support you, so don't you worry."

The priest was shaking in his boots. He could not move under the monster's pressure but tried to show he was not a coward.

Both people tried to get an upper hand against the monster but were unsuccessful. At this rate, they would all be killed, and Camelia refused to let that happen.

'I don't think I have much magic right now. My body is taking a lot longer to recover than I would like. Ugh, this is a problem for me. What should I do now?'

Camelia felt like she had to do something.

Usually, she was not interested in people or even helping them out. But this was a case she could not overlook.

She could not do that for only one reason —these people had helped her out when she was in trouble (or something like that), and Camelia always repaid the favors she was owed.

"You! Brace yourself for the impact. This fall is not going to be pretty."

Camelia warned before her spell began to spread across the dungeon.

'As expected, The power is insufficient to kill this Huntung Queen, but I can buy us some time by hiding us.'

The earth cracked beneath Camelia's feet, causing her and the others to fall down the crack. The hole was only big enough to swallow the three humans, and the Hunting Queen was left on the surface.

Camelia wove another spell before they hit the ground so the fall could be gentler. Her feet fluttered as they finally touched the ground.

"W-What happened? What kind of spell was that? I did not even get a warning for it. When did we get here?"

The Priest complained as he looked around before he noticed the Warrior lying in front of him.

Camelia looked up, only to see the eyes of the Hunting Queen looking back toward her,

The monster had singled Camelia out to be her prey, and she knew what that look meant.

'Ugh, so it has come down to this, huh! It looks like it will either be me or it that will survive. And I have no intention of dying.'

Camelia took out her knife from her inventory and clutched it tightly in her hand. It was finally time for her to show her capabilities.

"Don't worry about a thing. I have called for backup, and they will arrive soon. We just need to keep watch and-"

The Hunting Queen did not like that Camelia was out of reach. It kept knocking at the crack to try and crack it open.

'Yeah, I don't think we will get a chance to be saved. Should I just end this creature's life after all-'

As soon as Camelia made up her mind, the wall keeping them all safe broke down, and the safety net they depended on was gone.

'Shit! This is awkward. This body is not used to casting spells. I will need some time-'

Camelia was ready to ask her companions for some time but did not need to speak up.

Before words could leave her mouth, a shadow punched the Hunting Queen. The monster tried to get up, but their savior quickly worked on it.

Before words could leave her mouth, a shadow punched the Hunting Queen. The monster tried to get up, but their savior quickly worked on it.

"W-What is happening? Did the relief team arrive this quickly? I could swear that these people only arrive after an hour-"

"Who cares? We are saved, right? I'll call out for help, so just wait here."

The Priest cut the warrior off before he opened his palm, and a small ball of light floated on his palm.

Camelia realized what that ball of light was for as soon as she noticed it in the Priest's palm.

"You should close your eyes."

She warned before she quickly closed her eyes. The warrior could not adapt in time, and thus, he was flash-banged by the sudden flare.

But the flare did its work, and the person who saved them quickly walked toward the crack where they were all stuck.

"Do you all need help? Just wait a minute, and I will throw some rope to save you."

Camelia forced her eyes open, and her vision turned white.

She might have closed her eyes in time, but that did not help her escape the effects of the flash of light.

As she blinked and looked up, Camelia realized that the voice she was hearing sounded familiar.

Then, she finally looked up and saw the face of her helper.

Swallowing felt difficult as Camelia tried to rationalize what she was looking at.

The person in front of her looked exactly like Zayne but a little younger and taller than the last time she remembered seeing that man.

She could also not see that serious expression on this man's face that Zayne always had on his face.

The only conclusion Camelia could reach was - 'Perhaps this man is a distant relative of Zayne. Maybe a descendent? Yeah, it makes sense. No matter how much he pretended to be a virgin, I am sure Zayne gave in to human desires once in his life.'
