At sunrise of the next day, Finn woke Anatalia up to get ready for their travel to the west.
Overnight, he had eaten more meals and sneaked outside to look at the various hang out spots and to listen to the tales that were told.
It wasn't a bad night for his first time in this world civilization. He spent lavishly because he knew he might not have the chance to do so soon.
Until he sold the beast corpses in his inventory, they would manage what they had left. Basically, he needed to become an adventurer first before considering going wild in that aspect.
Along with Anatalia, they left Seasky Town with a big boat, and headed to the next town.
The journey was a sight for Anatalia as she saw sea mana beasts that aren't aggressive on their way.
Finn was less impressed, the luminescent sea had more sights compared to this.
Before midday reached, they arrived at another town where they took a train directly to the west.
Nothing extra happened during all this, so Finn just paid attention to how people here lived their lives.
He encountered other humans and demi-humans dressed for their various jobs.
While they were on their journey, Finn also questioned Anatalia about some general knowledge about this world. He was mainly interested in the world's history at the moment and Anatalia explained what she knew to him.
But before everything was the myth of creation. It was said that everything that exists, including the fallen gods, were born from the essense of nothingness.
At the pinnacle of all that nothingness birthed were the gods who ruled over the mortals.
Things went on normally after the god's were created. More worlds were created, more mortals came to existence, and wars started and ended.
Out of all, there were three periods of time that were said to shape the present era of all worlds that exist, but most especially this one.
First was the Era of War. It was said that due to the instigation of gods, wars occurred in many worlds simultaneously. These wars didn't seem to ever have an end. At one point, the wars almost turned from a battle amongst nations to a battle between worlds.
It was when it was about to become an inter-world war that god stepped in, and started the Fall of God's age. This god, who respected mortals and their lives, single handedly began to bring other higher beings and their subordinates down.
He not only stopped the atrocities of those higher beings, he used their remaining essence to shape a new mortal world, fix new worlds and get rid of the corrupted worlds. He also sacrificed himself and 'blessed' the mortal world.
The blessings were the status screen that only those that were worthy obtained, access to more magic, the items that higher beings and their subordinates used, and the extraordinary abilities that were concealed in the body of these higher beings, the Rune Gift.
These blessings and items led to the Aftermath Era. It was especially eventful in the sole New World god created for those that gave up on their previous world.
The New World was a coming of multiple races, and these races that had just been blessed with power and new land decided to start another war for their respective reasons.
The first 200 years of this New World was hellish. There was racial discrimination, greed for more power and lost items, and mana beasts grew stronger as well.
Thankfully, order eventually came and the peace on the surface was still evident.
This was the information that the general people have.
The details of those times are said to have been lost. It was assumed by those interested in the topic that only a very few percent of all the worlds had more information than the normal.
The periods of time brought a universal hatred to the idea of gods, hence why worshiping a god on this day may be considered a taboo.
After listening to this, Finn asked questions that Anatalia could answer.
The first one was regarding the status screen. It was actually generally called Vyrid. This was one of the most valued blessings god gave. It was created along with this world.
Vyrid kept records of everything in the world, and when a person has been deemed worthy, it grants the person an opportunity to earn power. Only those who have been deemed worthy by Vyrid had access to view their status screen.
Finn asked more questions, and had some thoughts, 'Skills can be acquired with and without the help of Vyrid. It's just that with Vyrid help, skills are acquired more easily compared to when the blessing didn't exist.
'Also, when Vyrid comes in contact with a person, they'll become more aware of their skills, making skills easier to use. Is that how it is?'
Of course there was no one left to answer Finn's inner dialogue, and Anatalia evidently had no answers so he just left himself unanswered.
He moved his thoughts to something else. Right now, he has two goals. The first was to unseal the trio, the other was to revive god.
Before Finn was contemplating accomplishing these goals because he didn't know their nature, but now that he did, he came to a decision.
The god he wanted to revive was the only higher being that was still recognised, and Haru, a being that represented humans in the Age of War and Fall of Gods, but is known to have died in the latter time.
Although he's not spoken about much in modern day, a lot of myths and stories have been created based on his tales.
'Heh, the history of this world definitely has a lot of incorrect and hidden details, Haru is still alive, and that's proof!' Finn mused.
Now that he was aware of Haru's public image, and based on his encounter with him and the two angels, Finn brought himself to believe that the sealed individuals weren't dangerous.
While Finn was occupying himself with his thoughts, Anatalia was tense throughout the journey. In just a few hours, she could finally declare herself truly free.
As the thoughts of freedom resurfaced, her past experiences resurfaced, but when she was about to start to panic once more, she felt like her siblings were momentarily with her, telling her to forget the past and move forward.
She jolted awake and a white wolf-like creature with streaks of blue on its fur was staring at her "If not for him, would she have escaped?" This thought has always lingered since she met it.
Then she felt a tug on her cloth, waking her up fully.
The White Fenrir couldn't talk in public, but she understood what it tried to say.
Looking out the window, she muttered with eyes tinged with tears, "I'm free…"
