Finn was left alone in an inn he and Anatalia had gotten. She was taking her bath, preparing for the day.
Having washed his body already and was waiting for Anatalia, Finn lay on his bed. "Ahh… Yesterday was a bit dramatic."
When they settled in the inn, Anatalia let out pent up tears and cried until she slept.
Only then did Finn truly consider what she might have gone through. Anatalia was never straightforward when talking about the past, she only glossed over information from the past when necessary.
With what he heard, Anatalia had gone through exploring the Luminescent Forest region once every month for a while now.
Each time this happens, all the children that go on this exploration will be sacrificed, leaving only Anatalia because the supervisors made sure she survived. Also, Anatalia inspired this.
Finn had this reasoning not only based on what Anatalia had said, but also with the help of the mind that resided within the core of the supervisor he absorbed.
It was a new day, and things were looking promising. Anatalia seemed to have put the past behind her.
Soon, Finn saw Anatalia walk out of the bathroom.
"I'm ready," She said.
With her bright orange hair tied into a ponytail, Anatalia was looking more positive than ever. She wore a red top and black shorts, with light armor worn on top. At her waist were sheathed twin daggers.
This was equipment she had bought before they settled in last night. They needed to be ready for the Adventurer's test they'll be taking.
Standing at 5-feet-6, Anatalia smiled at Finn, "Let's head out."
'Well, someone is looking as bright as ever,' Finn thought, then said aloud, "Mhm. You're looking good."
Anatalia didn't respond, only nodding as she opened the door that led out, leaving Finn, in a 2 feet long Fenrir's body, to follow her.
On reaching the streets, the bustling streets came into view. It was like the Seasky Town, but with way more people of different races.
Finn felt it once more. "I really am in another world, a brand new world that has many things to be explored."
Seeing the Fenrir at her side looking at the surroundings in awe, Anatalia whispered to it, "Don't worry, after we register, we'll be given the opportunity to explore as you wish."
The privileges adventurers had, especially in this region, was very evident.
This region was the land where demi-humans and humans were absolute equals. On other lands, there might have been partiality for the main land dwellers, but not here.
This large city they were in was created due to the influence of the Union Guild headquarters that was built here.
The Union Guild, formed after the alliance was made in the Aftermath Era, existed to curb racial discrimination, promote cooperation and to handle other perils of the world. Of course their purpose was more than that, but that was the summary of it.
They headed to the building at the heart of the city, also the tallest building here.
Its outside walls were white with gold designs. The building had 5 floors that were each wide on their own. At the top, where everyone could see from almost anywhere in the town, was their symbol.
Similar to the symbol of higher beings that spread in the Fall of God's time, this symbol had multiple hands, representing different races, coming together to form a union.
Without hesitation, Finn and Anatalia walked into the first floor.
As they did, they both heard the whispers of the adventurers with their good hearing.
"Is that her?"
"Yeah, she's the one with the odd beast."
"Whoa, I haven't not seen anything like it!"
"I've not heard of her before, is she yet to register?"
"Probably, honestly, she doesn't look any special compared to her beast."
Since the night before, news regarding a mana beast that hadn't been seen before spread fast amongst the adventurers.
Hearing them, Finn thought, 'Tsk, why are you all so riled up? Show some modesty for god's sake!'
He looked at Anatalia's face to see how she reacted to their words, but she didn't show any proof of reaction. Her face had a slight smile, but her eyes remained as cold as ever.
'Yeah, who cares what they say, we'll crush it and show them what we're made off,' Finn found himself cheering inwardly.
They got to a section of the halls that had many desks. This was were an adventurer submits their tasks. They proceeded to walk over to a desk that was less busy.
The human, wearing the white and gold uniform of the guild, said, "Welcome, miss. How can I help you?"
"Good day. I want to register as an adventurer." Anatalia replied.
"Oh, alright. Give me a moment." The union employee rummaged beneath her desk, brought out a paper and handed it to Anatalia. "Have this. Please fill in your information."
"Okay."
The list asked for information regarding the name that would be used, race, previous experiences, specializations.
They were questions that didn't take long to answer. Anatalia finished it in no time.
She passed it to the Employee. As the employee went through the information, a moment of confusion appeared on her face, before she said, "Are you certain you are okay with this information? Some information might need money to change later on."
"It's alright, I'm okay with this." Anatalia confirmed with a smile.
"A-ah, okay then." Putting the paper aside, the employee asked, "Are you ready to go through other tests, we'll need that to know what rank we'll give you."
"No problem."
"Do you want to do a core quality test too? That can also influence your given rank."
Anatalia contemplated for a second, looked at the Fenrir at her side before she replied, "I'll do that too."
"Alright. I'll make a request for a test administrator now."
Before the Employee could contact anyone, someone appeared at Anatalia's side,
He put his hand on the table, and bent down, looking Anatalia right in the eye.
"I'll be your test administrator."
