.....…...

Ten-year-old Valerios world crumbled around him as he watched his parents, once full of love and laughter, lie lifeless on the ground. The air reeked of blood and ripples of mana, the aftermath of a clash between two mid-level Ascended Realm cultivators.

The fight had begun over a trivial dispute: a rare spirit stone. The cultivators, Chrysa and Daphne, had been acquaintances of his parents, often visiting their humble household. But ambition and greed had consumed them, turning their friendship to ash. They allowed others to manipulate them all in the name of cultivation.

Valerios family, though weak in cultivation, had lived peacefully in the outskirts of the Jade Tigers territory. His parents, Dimitri and Anna, had taught him the basics of cultivation, hoping he would surpass them one day.

As the dust settled, Lin Feng's eyes locked onto Chrysa and Daphne, their faces twisted with guilt and regret. "You...you killed them!" he screamed, his small fists clenched.

Chrysa and Daphne exchanged uneasy glances before disappearing into the horizon, abandoning the devastated boy.

Lin Feng's anguish turned to rage as he knelt beside his parents' bodies. He vowed to avenge them, to become stronger than Chrysa and Daphne, to become stronger than the Jade Tigers combined. Because deep down he knew that they were the cause of all these. But they shouldn't take all the blame, this world was ruled on by the law of the strong. The Law of the jungle.

Since he couldn't get help from the clan, he could only bury his parents by himself and perform the burial rights which he wasn't even familiar with. A cruel sight to say the least.

After his parents' burial, the young Valerios decided to pour out every ounce of energy into cultivation. Only one thing drove him -revenge-. And with that as his drive, days passed, and Valerios determination only grew.

He was banished from the clan so he could no longer live in the little cottage he and his parents once lived in. They didn't even consider that he was but a mere child. He became a wanderer, expecting the worst to happen each day. Death. Though he refused to die after all, he needed to take revenge for his parents death. The clan head didn't even bother to get him killed because he was of the notion that he wasn't anything great and would require a great amount of luck to receive even a peak spirit realm cultivator's legacy. Which was why he could still hold onto his life.

Thankfully, his parents were cultivators with their own luck and were fortunate to encounter some fortunes in the forms of cultivation manuals. Ancient cultivation manuals. Since this was only known to them and the manuals were given to Valerios in hopes of making him stronger than them and going up in the clan's hierarchy, he was able to sneak them out with him after his banishment.

He spent every waking moment practicing cultivation, pouring over the ancient texts and seeking guidance from wandering cultivators.

One day, while practicing the ancient texts, he came across a group of cultivators in front of a cave. Since he was so absorbed with his cultivation session, he didn't notice that the amount of mana swirling in the air around that cave was overwhelming.

It had already been three years since his parents death and three years since his banishment. He was already in the middle stage of the spirit realm, a feat not even divine prodigies could perform. His plan was to attend a reputable academy in the nearest large city. The city of Lyra. He heard from fellow wanderers that the academy there was one of the best in the world. Through the years, he had encountered some former clansmen and killed those he could. His former innocence was completely lost.

He decided to observe what those cultivators were doing for a while. His decision came from his instincts which have been honed from his continuous wild battles. Over the years, he had come to know of the existence of treasures. Though he has never really been lucky enough to receive one, he has seen innocent people who lost their lives for one and he wasn't willing to die. Who is?

He made the right decision because the next moment, it seemed as though whatever it was that blocked the cave, opened up. Chaos followed.
