Chapter 5 - Prepare

' Damn it! ' from the room with the round table Ian had walked out to the 'hallway' trying to find an exit but he was currently kind of lost. Luckily though, the doors opened as one approached or else he would have been stuck in the same room. 'How big is this ship? '

He walked through another door and ran into the dark brown skinned handsome boy, Teren.

Teren exclaimed before looking at him and the two items he had dropped. Teren cursed while picking them up. "Damn it Nai, watch where you are going ... where are you going in fact? you were supposed to help me as punishment, come on let's go" He said this walking past Nai back the path and door Nai had walked from signing with his index and middle finger for Nai to follow.

"Can you believe this sh*t, so they do understand enough to give it as a punishment but it's supposed to be my duty? I know everyone's has their duties fitting their abilities but come on this unfair, right?"

"Yeah, how long do I have to do this for again?" Ever since his talk with Merim and the conclusions he had made everyone felt like an enemy to him, like they were plotting something, leading him to some trap. Right now he could not do much about it if there was one, still he walked cautiously behind Teren eyeing his body posture and movements trying to discern a movement or action that would betray his or their intentions. Their words, were also to be put under heavy scrutiny. He hated this feeling of constant unrest, a feeling like he was alone surrounded by wolves.

"I'm assuming till we make it back" Teren said with a chuckle. Ian did not know the distance back, but he knew people and he knew that was probably longer than intended as punishment. 'Even if they are planning to kill me, there should be fairness about this' Ian joked to himself. He decided to try and act like his image of Nai he'd assumed, "No, I won't be coming back after today" he said assertively then inwardly he thought, 'either cause I'll be dead or have run away'

Teren stopped then turned to face Nai, this surprised Ian he had never been good at confrontations both to other people and himself.

Teren chuckled and said, "I've never liked you you know, just cause you're sister whined for you to come along is the only reason you are here! a tourist and one with nothing to offer, just lazing around while everyone else is doing sh*t? Captain sister and you get to relax running from you're daddy, yeah, we all know. I'd be disappointed too"

Bam! Nai's fist landed on Teren's face, Teren was sent slightly stumbling back but he was laughing, he held his face for a second before arching back upwards still laughing, "I can't even fight back, you're weak body will just mean me killing you ... you have nothing and you have no one, you don't have to do the punishment, go ... go to you're little girlfriend"

They stood there for a moment ayeing each other before Teren Tsked and turned abruptly walking away from Nai. 'Why did that irk me to that extent ... '

Ian also Tsked Inwardly. 'Still this is both good and bad, good I can probably try finding the exit now, bad cause I thought I would have been able to get some information from him, he looked young and like a "don't care" air to him or a chill dude, why'd he have to be a dick? Maybe Nai was also just as much to him, I won't blame him then. This also confirms it a little more! Why would he confirm never liking or expressing his thoughts about Nai now? if he had already done it before he would not have said it in such a manner ... sigh there's no saving me from this paranoia now. Still how do I find the exit?'

This time round he found a massive double door that opened to a setting that was obviously the 'cockpit'. There was a central seat and control center  at the head above two pairs of seats at the feet  and front of the central chair , what looked like control centers accompanied them. Ian did not care that much to take in much of the detail. Apart from the massive display that showed the outside, he noticed the probable time.

There was still some 'sunlight' gracing the clouds far off in the horizon giving them a beautiful tinge of orange. The night however was evidently setting in, 'this is not good' Just then Ian remembered his fear of darkness, and even more than that being in the darkness in the wilderness. It started raising doubts in his mind whether to go through with his plan, he was yet to find the exit and food. Heck even heavy set clothes for the night cold, of the beast that could attack him on an alien planet he did not even want to think of them, 'Yes, I used to be scared of wild dogs and now I'm scared of alien wild dogs'

As he stood there in his worry the double doors slid open, and a tall man with elongated facial features and long slick black hair walked in. He had a very lazy look to his face and now that Ian could see more of him , even his limbs seemed unusually long in ratio to his torso and abdomen. Domnik! the man Ian felt he did not like.

"Are you not to be doing you're punishment? Probably, however, after we left you're dear sister adviced for more rest ... do you not get enough already?" He spoke in a lazy dragged low pitched voice almost like he was being forced to sing a song he really hated by someone he really hated.

'Does everyone here hate Nai, or is it me? damn' Ian cursed inwardly.

"Yes she did, and you are right I do have enough so I decided to go for a walk"

"Inside the ship? Never mind, you have no post here ... have your probable conclusions led you to try and sabotage the ship at the head?"

Ian's heartbeat instantly increased, his breaths became heavy his lips twitched and eyes wide he stared at the never changing expression of Domnik.

'He knows? How? did he listen in ? even then ... my thoughts are my own, could it be that abilities one of them, no! If so, I was just as open as a book to them. Then why have they not made the move already?'

"Your reaction is as much a confirmation to a logical assumption, "

"I do not know what you are talking about!" Ian was trying to save himself even though he felt completely exposed.

"For which I would care the least, an interesting matter however, I must admit I would hate to see its erasure"

"You wish to help me then?" Ian gave up on denying, whether it was the confidence and surety the man in front of him spoke with or the hope of  a helping hand that brought itself without the need to ask to save him from the irrationality of his plans with a better one he did not know.

"No" Domnik answered, his expression and monotone voice unchanged, "I said interesting, currently that is all you are and that is all it is, even the most rarest of gems have value in their beauty. As far as I can tell, you are not that much different from the other one, I see no benefit in such a possession even more so considering the possible developments from this. Death awaits you here or out there, if you prove yourself however the probability is not zero of a meeting again and maybe then I'll see your beauty"

Ian's heart dropped, Domnik had basically confirmed it for him. He had still held out some hope of a chance ... now however he felt an indifference between the conclusion to either of his choices, stay and die or run and die and that's without even considering them going after him, they won't just leave after and if he manages to escape.

"She would go through with it? They would? even if they're sure I still have his face ... "

"Your choice, remind me again you said you 'only' know eight of their names?"

"If you do not wish to help me and I do prove myself who's to say I would not hold it against you"

Domnik only stared at him like he was exhausted from his speaking but his eyes guided Ian to the massive display, the night had completely set in. The man walked past Nai to one of the lower seats, Ian scanned the back of his head Domnik seemingly ignorant of his presence.

Ian took a deep breath, his heart rate still high heavy breathing and sweat drops beginning to form on his forehead. He could feel the clock tick, the ticks to his death. He followed his path back to the room they had eaten in then back to 'his' room the path he had been guided by Janta. He wished to take some clothes, I mean the best assumption was that everyone kept theirs in their 'rooms'. About the food he had currently given up, his priority now was to get off as soon as possible. He did not know why they had not made their move already it had been almost an hour since the meal, but no need to wait for them to change their minds.

Just as 'his' room's door opened for him, his vision met the back of a figure sitting on 'his' bed facing the wall. She had raven black hair, and black suit or uniform they were all wearing, April. 'is this it, maybe no need for all of them. Is she an assassin or something? Is that her ability specialty?' Ian's already fast heartbeat seemed to get even faster, his heavy breathing was now evident from the noise and the aggressively raising and lowering of his chest.

The girl stood up slowly and walked towards him in the same manner, it was as if she was blind to the obvious tense body of the boy standing in front of her. She placed her left hand on the right of his face, it felt familiar and cold. 'Is she the one that held me at the river bank?'.

April's dark pupils scanned Nai's light brown pupils in pity and almost like looking for an answer to a question not asked. She then spoke in a low soft voice the slightest sound interference would make it unbearable, "You were always stupid you know". After saying this she came in close, closed her eyes and placed her lips on his. It was only slight and for a moment.

"I-" Nai had begun to speak but she did not wish to hear him and walked past him and out 'his' room. 'What is this? so they all know? Why not do it already then? is it all everyone gets to say their goodbyes? It does not matter, as long as there is a chance I'll take it then, even one conspired and handed to me!'
