Chapter 19 - Chaos Ends

"Why isn't it working…?"

"At this rate—"

Alon tried to suppress the vast magical power that had was creating. However, it wasn't working.

As he tried and tried to suppress it, the lightning began to get stronger and stronger.

By this time it had already destroyed some of the equipment in the arena. All who were sitting and investigating ran away to avoid getting into the chaos.

"T—This is bad! This is bad!"

"At this rate— I have to do something."

Fredrick grinds his teeth as he walks toward Alon—in an attempt to prevent him from going any further in the destruction.

But the waves emanating from Alon's body were so strong that they pulled him back, as he used his hands to cover his face.

At this point, the whole area where the arena was, had already been covered with dark clouds. It was as if the night itself had arrived, however it was only 11:00 in the morning.

_

Brain, who stood while gazing at the vast magical power, bent his face as he frowned and muttered. "What is the Magical Power? If he had always had such magical power, does that mean, when he faced me before—He was holding back? How can a mere commoner possess such magical power?"

"You are right, boss, forgive me, but I think he was holding back when you two almost faced yourself," Natsu, who was beside him, responded to his claim.

"Huh—How are you so sure hmm?… Natsu!"

"That's because I noticed it. I knew he was holding back from the start. And not just me, I am very sure she noticed it too." Natsu responded as he used his head to point in the direction where Natasha was standing.

While she was standing and staring at Alon, her expression was shocked by the magical power emitting from him.

However, she had already known he had a good amount of magical power, but she still couldn't believe it was this much.

As she looked at Fredrick who was still struggling to get a hold of Alon, a thought came to her mind. 'Is he too strong that even a special candidate from last year's entrance exam—and also one of the power-ranking students of the Crimson Dragon House, can't even hold himself together?'

True Fredrick in the power ranking.

A rank in which mages in the academy were given in response to their achievements.

However, this power he faced was not one he could comprehend.

"If I am correct, this was never in the novel?—I mean, It was said in the novel that he demonstrated a vast magical power. But there, he was able to control it; it never went this far. What is going on?"

Lean was now wondering what was happening at that particular moment.

He knew how it was going to turn out, so he had his mind set on it all. However, what was going on currently, wasn't on his knowledge of the novel.

"Is it possible, that not everything in the original story will go as planned?"

He thought—as he stared at Alon.

With the chaos going on, everyone in the arena gradually evacuated. Alon's magical power was already going overhand.

This was just supposed to be a normal test of magic control, but this turned into something chaotic.

While some people were evaluating, Fredrick turned and saw the ones who were leading the way for the rest to pass were Natasha and Natsu.

"Hmph… they are not just, special candidates; they are even able to look out for others… huh? They are such good kids, I am sure they will make a great mage. Right! I guess I have to take this matter seriously."

Fredrick jumped back a little bit from Alon. He stood interestingly; his stance was intriguing, and his cloak danced from the wind, which was created by Alon's magical power.

He then slammed both hands together, creating a sound as he clapped.

"Mercury Magic: Tsuyoi Barrier!"

Immediately, a greyish oval-shaped object appeared over Alon as it started to increase, surrounding all sides of him.

It increased in a step-by-step manner. This was a special kind of barrier one of a kind—which most people couldn't master.

"Barrier Complete!"

"With this, I should be able to prevent the damage from getting overhand."

After the barrier was completed, Alon found himself inside a weird place.

"W-What is this? Where am I?"

The whole place was grayish, it was as if he was in another dimension entirely.

Slowly, the lightning that was emitting from Alon began to fade away.

This barrier blocked every encounter with the outside world. So, with no clouds here for lightning to come from, the ones that surrounded his body faded away.

"Huh? This lightning… is going away?" Alon muttered as he looked around himself, noticing the changes.

"I call it 'Tsuyoi Barrier', In other words—strong barrier," Fredrick said as he walked to Alon.

Turning to the direction where Fredrick approached from, Alon was startled"

"Are you the one who made this?" He asked him, in confusion.

"Yes, I am. You don't have to worry; this will cut out all sources from the outside world. Whatever goes on in here can never be heard or noticed from outside there."

Fredrick said as he pointed in a nowhere direction by the mention of the statement 'outside there.'

Alon was stunned. He had never seen magic like this. He now knew the reason why Fredrick was among the power-ranking students of the academy.

Slowly, all the magic energy that Alon emitted began to fade away bit by bit, before finally ending.

With a smile on Fredrick's face, he placed his hand on Alon's shoulder, looked at him, and said, "I also call it my [Ultimate Dimension Mana disruption Magic]."

With a wink, he removed his hand and walked in another direction.

Alon then noticed something about Fredrick. He was looking more friendly than he was at the start of the exam.

'Hmph… Looks like everyone has a side of themselves they wish to keep away from others.

"Umm…"

Alon exclaimed as he turned to Fredrick.

"Hm?"

"What is going to happen to me, after everything I have caused? Am I going to be disqualified?"

This was a tricky question. Fredrick knew he had the authority to fail Alon for losing control over his magical power.

However, his display wasn't something one could just ignore.

He would have to admit it—Alon had to fail.

However, he knew that if the higher-ups heard about Alon's magnificent power from the staff who were watching—And also heard that he had failed him. He would be in big trouble.

Knowing this, Fredrick took a quick gulp. The fact that he would have to face the higher up from that, made him anxious. They were not people one could easily deal with. So he decided on what he was going to do.

"Well—"

"Am I going to fail?"

Alon asked with a very serious and curious expression. He knew that failing the exam was not supposed to be an option for him. And if it was going to be, he wouldn't know what next he could do.

Before Fredrick responded to Alon, he took a quick stare at the boy's worried face.

Sigh'

"Don't worry… you didn't fail. However, the damage you have caused wouldn't be over looked either."

"Wow seriously! Thank you very much!" Alon appreciated. With a smile on his face, he stretched his hands and shook Fredrick.

"Now all that's left is to go outside of here"
