Chapter: 6
I took a deep breath, floating effortlessly in the night sky, my black wings gently flapping behind me. Beside me, Lilith, in her full adult form, held onto an overjoyed Lily. It had been a month since I created Lilith, and though the time had passed quickly, it had been both the easiest and hardest month of my life.
Easiest because I had Lilith to care for Lily while I trained. Her help allowed me to focus on honing my powers while Lily watched under Lilith's supervision. Hardest because of the battle I had been fighting—one not with an enemy, but with my mother, desperately trying to stop her from drinking herself into an early grave.
Flashback
I stood before my mother, my fists clenched in frustration. She was slouched on the couch, a half-empty bottle of wine dangling from her hand. Her eyes were glazed over, unfocused.
"Mother, you need to stop this," I said, my voice firm but tinged with sadness.
She barely acknowledged me, taking another sip. "I'm fine, Victor. I don't need your help."
I bit back my anger. "You're not fine. This isn't fine! You're drinking yourself to death."
Her eyes flickered with a brief flash of anger. "I'm your mother. I don't need a lecture from my son."
The conversation quickly escalated into an argument, with neither of us willing to back down. Her stubbornness clashed with my desperation, and in the end, I walked away, defeated.
Flashback End
I sighed, pushing the painful memory aside as I glanced over at Lilith and Lily.
"Wanna fly around, Lily?" I asked, a small smile tugging at my lips.
"Yes!" Lily responded eagerly, her excitement contagious.
"Okay then."
I flew over to Lilith and gently took Lily from her. Focusing my powers, I began to alter Lily's body. A golden light radiated from her, enveloping her in a warm glow. When the light faded, Lily's appearance had completely changed. Her once black hair had turned a shimmering gold, and a single halo hovered above her head. Her eyes had shifted to a deep emerald green, and three pairs of pure white wings sprouted from her back. A burst of radiant energy exploded off her, so powerful it took me by surprise.
I blinked, stunned. I hadn't expected her transformation to release that much energy.
Lily, however, didn't seem to notice my shock. She immediately pulled away from me, giggling as she flew around, testing her new wings with childlike glee.
"Huh, that was… unexpected," I muttered.
Lilith floated over to me, her expression curious. "Did you anticipate that?"
"No," I admitted, still watching Lily in awe. "I intended to make her an angel, yes, but I didn't expect her to have three pairs of wings."
Lilith tilted her head. "What is the significance of the wings, exactly?"
"For the angels I plan to create, the number of wings represents their strength. One pair is the weakest, while eight pairs is the strongest. Lily has three pairs at her age… it shows her potential."
"Indeed, it does," Lilith agreed, her eyes following Lily as she zipped around the sky. "Do you intend for me to train her?"
"I was hoping you could, yes," I said, turning to Lilith. "She'll need guidance to control her abilities, and I trust you with that."
"Of course, Victor," Lilith nodded.
"By the way, will she be able to return to her human form?" she asked.
"She'll be able to switch forms at will with some training," I explained, "but for now, she'll revert back when she tires herself out."
I glanced over at Lily, who was quickly flying further away, her giggles echoing in the night air.
"Lily, wait up!" I called out, flying after her. Lilith followed close behind, smiling softly as she watched.
Lily turned and grinned at us. "Can't catch me!"
I chuckled, deciding to fly at a slower pace, letting her have her fun. We spent the majority of the night playing in the sky, chasing each other through the clouds and laughing like we didn't have a care in the world.
The next morning was just as eventful. While I practiced, Lilith began Lily's training. I had given Lilith a clear outline of the abilities Lily possessed and what she should focus on during her sessions.
Flashback
"Victor," Lilith asked, floating beside me in her smaller form, "is there anything specific I should know about Lily's abilities?"
I paused, rubbing my chin thoughtfully. "Oh, right. I forgot to mention that, didn't I? Lily has several powers: super strength, super speed, enhanced durability, light manipulation, holy lightning, holy fire, holy water, and magic. She's going to need a comprehensive training regimen."
Lilith nodded. "I see. I will design an appropriate training plan for her, then."
"Good," I said, pleased with her initiative.
Flashback End
As the sun began to rise higher in the sky, casting warm rays across the land, I watched as Lilith guided Lily through her first exercises. Lilith had chosen to start with holy water manipulation seeing as it was the least dangerous thing to start with. I watched from a distance as I absentmindedly held the black egg in my hands, feeling its familiar pulse of energy. Then, unexpectedly, the egg pulsed stronger, almost violently, and small cracks began to form along its dark surface.
"Huh," I muttered, surprised. "It's finally happening."
The cracks spread, and with a sudden burst of energy, the egg shattered. Before me floated a creature, one I had only ever imagined but now stood fully formed in front of me.The creature's serpentine body was long and elegant, more draconic than I had envisioned. Its black scales shimmered in the morning light, and its wings were not the traditional but shaped like long, swirling tentacles, each tipped with blood-red thorns. Two imposing appendages flanked its head, which bore a menacing maw behind them. It looked like an ancient, otherworldly serpent, something born of both shadow and chaos.
Giratina, in its Origin Form.
"About damn time," I whispered to myself, marveling at the sheer power radiating from the creature.
As Giratina hovered before me, I felt something stir deep inside—like a ripple spreading through my very soul. Suddenly, a new awareness flooded my mind, a sense of a place beyond this world.
The
Distortion World.
A new territory, one that was now mine to control.
