Chapter 7 - Chapter: 7

Chapter: 7

I floated in a vast, empty space—the Distortion World. It wasn't quite a void, though. Scattered around me were small, floating islands and three large landmasses, each unnervingly familiar. They mirrored the continents of Westeros, Essos alongside the Valyria peninsula, though everything here was inverted in some way—twisted reflections of the real world.

"The Distortion World is broken," I muttered to myself, shaking my head. "I knew it was supposed to be the mirrored inverse of the universe, but this... This is beyond that. It's overpowered."

The space here was strange, vast, and powerful beyond comprehension. As I marveled at it, the sound of Lily's joyous squealing pulled me from my thoughts. She was riding on Giratina's back, her laughter filling the otherwise quiet space.

Giratina, now floating in her Origin Form, was a truly imposing sight. I had the chance to really gauge her size now—much closer to her anime counterpart, towering well beyond 22 feet in length, easily comparable to a small skyscraper. Massive for a newborn, but then again, she was based on a Pokémon. Still, her presence commanded respect.

I glanced at the lands around me, deep in thought. With the Distortion World under my control, I now had the power to traverse anywhere on Earth instantly. My plans for Valyria no longer seemed so distant.

"Hmm, decisions, decisions," I murmured, weighing my options.

Lilith floated over to me, her wings effortlessly keeping her aloft. "Victor, you seem troubled."

I turned to her, mulling over my thoughts. "Not troubled. Just... contemplating."

Lilith tilted her head. "Would you like an outside perspective?"

I gave a small nod. "Yeah, actually. I need one. What do you think? Now that we have the Distortion World and I can travel anywhere at will... should I start redeveloping Valyria now, or should I wait?"

Lilith's eyes gleamed with understanding. "It depends. Is Valyria still claimed?"

I blinked and then facepalmed. "Right. How did I forget? Valyria's been abandoned for so long it's no longer claimed territory. It's unclaimed land now. If I wait too long, I'll need to use my powers to claim it, which could delay all my plans. But if I act now..."

"Then you can start your redevelopment without the need for extra effort later," Lilith finished for me. "It's clear what your choice should be."

I nodded, feeling the clarity in her words settle over me. "Yeah, you're right."

Turning to Giratina, I called her over. She flew gracefully toward me, with Lily still perched on her back, giggling.

"Big brother!" Lily squealed, leaping into my arms.

I smiled, ruffling her golden hair. "Lily, I need you to stay with Lilith and Giratina for a little while, okay?"

She nodded happily. "Okay!"

I handed her back to Lilith, who held her close. "Take care of her," I said with a nod to Lilith. Then, I turned my attention to Giratina and flew onto her massive head.

"Take me to that continent," I instructed, pointing toward the inverted version of Valyria that floated in the distance.

Giratina let out her signature cry—the one from the games—before soaring through the void, cutting through the strange space effortlessly. As we neared the inverted Valyria, Giratina roared, and a swirling portal appeared before us, leading back to the real world.

"Thank you, Giratina," I said, unfurling a pair of black wings from my back. With a single flap, I launched myself into the portal, the lands of Valyria awaiting me on the other side.

The moment I emerged from the portal, the sudden burst of daylight felt like being hit by a flashbang. Coming from the darkness of the Distortion World, it was jarring.

"Ah, my eyes!" I groaned, blinking rapidly as they adjusted to the brightness.

As my vision slowly returned to normal, I took in my surroundings. Valyria was as desolate as I had imagined—worse, even. The land was dead, the once-thriving peninsula now a graveyard of gray, lifeless soil and crumbling ruins. The sky above was a dull, oppressive gray, adding to the eerie stillness. Ancient, broken buildings dotted the landscape, silent reminders of the once-great civilization that had ruled here.

I scanned the area, searching for one thing in particular: the Civic Centre, known as Oktio Izultion in High Valyrian. It didn't take long to locate. Even in ruin, it was still the largest and most prominent structure among Valyria's four sections.

With a single flap of my wings, I soared toward the massive structure. As I descended, my wings beat slowly, allowing me to land softly in the court of the Civic Centre. The eerie silence that had settled over Valyria was only broken by the faint sound of wind rustling through the crumbled walls.

I began walking through the ruins, moving through building after building, my eyes searching for something specific: the Vault. After hours of searching through the ancient corridors, I finally found it, hidden within the throne room itself. A large, imposing vault door stood before me, undisturbed for centuries.

I took a moment to pulse some of my energy through the throne room, temporarily claiming it as my territory. The familiar warmth of power surged through me, and with a flick of my wrist, the massive vault door crumpled like a piece of paper, the ancient metal folding in on itself as I effortlessly cleared the entrance.

I stepped into the vault, and the sight before me made my heart skip a beat. It was a treasure trove beyond my wildest expectations. Valyrian steel weapons and armor were scattered everywhere—some pieces rusted with age, others still gleaming with their famed durability. Despite the centuries they had been left here, their strength remained palpable.

But the weapons and armor were not what I had come for. No, there was something far more precious hidden within this vault. Pushing past the piles of steel, I laid my eyes on them.

Dragon eggs.

There were dozens of them, around fifty in total, all perfectly preserved. The eggs had a stone-like texture, as was expected of dragon eggs long dormant. Each one shimmered faintly in the dim light, their patterns intricate and unique.

"Marvelous," I breathed, stepping closer to inspect them. These were the future of Valyria, the key to rebuilding the civilization that had once dominated the world.

I knelt beside one of the eggs, running my fingers over its rough surface. The power within them was dormant, but I could feel it—faint, but alive. I knew that with the right coaxing, these eggs could hatch, and dragons would once again soar through the skies.

"This is just the beginning," I whispered to myself, my mind already racing with plans for the future. Valyria's revival would not just be a dream—it would be a reality.
