Chapter: 12
"So, can someone explain to me how exactly this happened?" I asked, staring at what could only be described as a disaster zone.
The ground before me was frozen solid in patches. Nearby, large swathes of earth were blackened, scorched by fire, while to the right, the terrain was shattered and cracked, clearly struck by lightning. Standing beside me were Lord Targaryen and Lord Barlaeris, both staring at the scene with looks of shared disbelief. My eye twitched as I shifted my gaze toward the culprits behind the chaos.
"Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem... what the hell?!"
The three dragons, towering over us, had the audacity to look sheepish. Reshiram, with her elegant yet powerful form, lowered her fluffy, collar-like neck slightly. Her long, winged arms, which flared out like majestic appendages with clawed tips, seemed to curl inward, as though trying to hide her guilt. Zekrom, all black scales and glowing blue streaks of power, gave a nervous flap of his smaller wings behind his powerful, humanoid frame. His glowing red eyes glanced away, as if avoiding my glare. Then there was Kyurem, hunched and ice-covered, his chipped horn and damaged wing giving him an especially guilty look as frost formed at his feet.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, sighing deeply. "Just... go," I muttered.
Without another word, the three dragons turned and took off into the sky, their enormous forms disappearing into the horizon. The ground beneath their wings rumbled slightly as they departed.
I turned back to Lord Targaryen and Lord Barlaeris, both of whom had wisely kept their thoughts to themselves during the bizarre spectacle. "Where were we?" I asked.
The two lords took a moment to shake off the oddness of the morning and refocused on our conversation.
"Right, the training of the knights and mages," Lord Targaryen said, his deep voice steadying the mood once again.
"Already planned out," I replied, nodding. "I'm establishing a school that will train not only in combat and magic but will also provide both basic and advanced education. Weapon play, magical studies, everything they'll need for future conflicts."
Lord Barlaeris crossed his arms, giving a nod of approval. "That is good. Education will help stabilize the future generations of Valyria."
Lord Targaryen's brow furrowed slightly. "What of the remaining dragon eggs?"
I looked toward the sky, thinking of the task ahead. "I was planning to deal with those today."
"Then we'll leave that to you," Lord Targaryen replied. Both men gave respectful nods before turning to leave.
As they departed, I teleported myself to the rebuilt Valyrian castle, specifically to the chamber where the last of the dragon eggs were stored. Forty pristine eggs sat there, waiting for their destinies to be fulfilled. Without wasting time, I summoned my powers and flew into the sky, using telekinesis to carrying the eggs with me. The wind whipped through my hair as I soared above Valyria, surveying the land below.
Hovering above the city, I focused my mind and duplicated the forty eggs, creating three more sets. The original set of forty was teleported back to the castle, safe for future use, while I divided the remaining eggs among the regions I was about to create. Concentrating my powers, I began reshaping the landscape of Valyria, forming five new regions to house different types of dragons.
The first area transformed into a frigid tundra, the air thick with snow and ice. The ground cracked beneath the pressure as glaciers formed in the distance. Next, I shaped a volcanic island, with rivers of lava cutting through the blackened rocks, the heat intense and ever-present. Then, I carved out a towering mountain range, jagged and steep, perfect for dragons who needed to dominate the skies. To the west, I summoned a perpetual storm, lightning crackling through darkened clouds, wind whipping through the area with relentless fury. Finally, I created a large beach, where the sea met the shore in a constant rhythm, perfect for the water dragons.
With the regions set, I flew across each one, carefully scattering the eggs in their respective environments. As I did, I tweaked their natures, altering the types of dragons they would become to suit the terrains. The tundra eggs would hatch into ice dragons, the volcano would bear fire dragons, the mountains would house sky dragons, the storm region would give birth to lightning dragons, and the beach would host water dragons.
Once all the eggs were placed, I used my powers once more, accelerating the growth of several dragons. Some reached adolescence, others full adulthood. The lands soon rumbled with the sound of dragons, their presence felt through the air as they hatched and took flight.
Satisfied with my work, I teleported back to the throne room, where I landed gracefully on my throne, letting out a tired sigh.
A soft voice broke the silence. "Welcome back, my Lord."
I glanced up to see a woman standing before me. She had long, flowing black hair and striking red eyes. A pair of fox ears rested atop her head, and behind her, nine fox tails swayed gently. She wore a pristine maid outfit, her posture graceful and serene.
"Thank you, Kira," I replied, a small smile tugging at my lips.
