Chapter 35 - †LUXURY†

Ryan closed the bathroom door and approached the second door after confirming the room was safe. He opened the door and stepped inside, his gun sweeping the room in a swift and practiced motion.

The room he just entered was a bedroom that is cozy, with creamed colored walls and plush carpet that muffled his footsteps. A queen sized bed dominated the center of the room, covered in a soft and black duvet. A dresser and nightstand stood against one wall.

"Wow" Ryan breathed out speechless with eyes wide as he took in the cozy bedroom. The soft, creamed colored walls and plush carpet seemed so out of place in the underground tunnel.

"How did a place like this end up underground?" Ryan wondered aloud with curiosity.

A dresser and nightstand stood against one wall and Ryan approached the dresser cautiously and he slowly opened it.

Inside, he found clothes that looked brand new, never worn before. Shirts and pants was what filled the dresser and they were neatly folded and organized, with some having their tags still attached.

Ryan used his gun to push aside the clothes, checking for any hidden threats. Satisfied, Ryan shut the dresser and walked out of the bedroom.

Aria and Samuel sat on the couch while waiting for Ryan's update. "What did you find?" Aria asked, seeing Ryan walk out the door.

"New clothes and it was a bedroom," Ryan replied, walking towards them.

"Whaaaaaaat, a freaking bedroom!" Samuel exclaimed and quickly stood up from the couch, his hands clenched into fists.

"Let me see!" Samuel said with excitement, rushing into the bedroom, after pushing Ryan slightly out of his way.

As Samuel stepped into the bedroom, his eyes and mouth widened in awe. The room's soft light illuminated his face, highlighting his shock.

"Whaaooo!"he shouted and fell onto the bed, sinking into its plush softness, his body relaxing into the mattress. The soft bed enveloped him like feathers.

"yeah" Samuel breathed, letting out a huge sigh, Aria chuckled at Samuel antics, sometimes he changes personality.

Ryan walked over to Aria, who still sat on the couch, "Time to see the luxury quarters," Ryan said and scooped her up, cradling her in his arms, her body nestling into his chest.

"Hey!" Aria laughed, "Put me down!" she demanded.

"I Got to show you the fancy bedroom, Captain," Ryan teased and Aria shook her head with a smile.

Ryan carried her into the bedroom and they saw Samuel sprawled out on the bed.

"Finally," Samuel said, grinning. "Can we all see what is called the luxury quarters."

Ryan walked closer to the bed and carefully dropped Aria onto the plush mattress, mindful of her injuries.

Samuel slid over, making room on the plush bed for Aria as she settled in.

"Unbelievable," Aria breathes out, moving her eyes over the cozy bedroom, taking every details in.

Ryan moved back from the bed and leaned against the wall with a relaxed posture. "It was worth the risk after all," Ryan said with a smile and a hint of satisfaction in his voice, he was glad the risk they took turned out to be their salvation.

Aria quickly dodged his eyes, her cheeks flushing, remembering her initial hesitation for them to not take the risk.

Samuel grinned, looking at Aria as her face was a deep red color in embarrassment, "Hey, at least we found luxury," Samuel said, spreading his arms wide on the bed again.

"Ah, luxury," Samuel sighed and closed his eyes with a tranquil smile on his face.

Aria slid her backpack off her shoulders, dropping it onto the bed beside Samuel with a soft thud. She rubbed her shoulders, easing the tension from carrying the heavy pack for long.

Aria opened her backpack, the zippers making sounds softly as she revealed the contents inside, She began to rummage through the contents her hands digging through her supplies. Finally, she pulled out three bottles of water.

Aria tossed one bottle to Ryan, who caught it with ease, his eyes never leaving hers. "Thanks," Ryan said, twisting the cap off and taking a refreshing sip.

Aria then turned to Samuel, who lay sprawled on the bed, his arms spread wide and his eyes closed.

"Catch!" Aria exclaimed but before Samuel could react, Aria had threw the water bottle, hitting him squarely on the stomach with a soft thud.

"AHK!" Samuel sat up, rubbing his aching stomach as he struggled to catch his breath. The sudden impact of the throw had knocked the wind out of him.

"Nice throw," Ryan chuckled, his laughter echoing through the room, filling the space.

Samuel looked down to see a water bottle lying on the bed after rolling off from his stomach.

"You could have at least given me a nice throw, but thanks," Samuel said, shaking his head, his dark blonde hair was a mess from lying down.

Aria and Ryan chuckled while they drank their water, savoring the refreshing liquid without responding to Samuel's playful complaint.

Samuel opened his own water bottle, the cap opening with a faint hiss and he took a long sip that soothed his parched throat.

Ryan finished his water and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He scanned the room, spotting a waste bin at the corner near the dresser and he walked over and dumped the empty bottle into the bin with a clatter noise.

"Here is our new shelter," Ryan said, gesturing to their surroundings with a sweep of his arm.

"We wouldn't be safe if not here," Samuel said, nodding in agreement, this was an underground refuge, if it wasn't for Ryan accidentally falling and him discovering that door they would have never found this heaven.

"I still can't believe we stumbled upon this place," Samuel said, shaking his head, he still can't even believe that someone would own this place.

Aria's eyes fell upon the entrance, the wall was still slide opened, "I would like to suggest that we close that wall back to its place," Aria said.

Samuel and Ryan nodded in unison."Less risk of detection,"
